I saw an earnings report from Disney that stated that the American parks (30% of Disney's infrastructure) are generating 70% of the corporation's income. This does not include international parks, which are operating at a loss.
I am curious, how much does a Disney Parks vacation cost? To keep the company afloat all on their own must be very lucrative.

Source: www.joblo.com/the-little-mermaid-horror/ The Little Mermaid gets an R-rated horror adaptation A horror version of The Little Mermaid, written and directed by Leigh Scott, has earned an R rating for violence
BY CODY HAMMAN APRIL 24TH 2024, 4:51PM
The Little Mermaid horror The latest batch of movie ratings decided upon by the Motion Picture Association ratings board were revealed today, with R ratings going to the likes of The Exorcism, The Strangers: Chapter 1, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga… and something a bit less expected. A new adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen story The Little Mermaid is coming our way from Grindstone Entertainment Group, and it has earned an R rating for language, some violence and brief nudity. As it turns out, this is a horror take on The Little Mermaid that has been written and directed by Leigh Scott, whose previous credits include Frankenstein Reborn, The Beast of Bray Road, Exorcism: The Possession of Gail Bowers, Hillside Cannibals, The Hitchhiker, Transmorphers, Flu Bird Horror, Dorothy and the Witches of Oz, and Piranha Sharks, among other things.
MSR Media International shares that Scott’s take on The Little Mermaid has the following synopsis: Dr. Eric Prince, an archaeologist, makes a dramatic discovery on a small Caribbean island—proof of an ancient, advanced prehistoric society. While his dig is in progress, he meets the mysterious and beautiful Aurora Bey and falls in love. Her arrival coincides with several mermaid sightings and strange disappearances. When Eric’s friend and mentor, Dr. Ashley, arrives on the island, Ashley uncovers the true identity of Aurora and the dangers of the hidden evil inside Eric’s dig site. Will Eric heed his friend’s advice, or will he be blinded by love and the power of the siren, allowing the world to fall to the forces of evil?
A trailer for the film can also be found on the MSR Media International website.
The Little Mermaid stars Mike Markoff (When Jack Came Back), Wayne Gordon (Into the Badlands), Jeff Denton (The Toybox), Winston Crooke (Christmas in the Caribbean), Dwayne Strawn (The Island), Samuel Selman (Temptation Under the Sun), Sean-Michael Argo (The Bleeding Game), and newcomer Manon Laurent, with newcomer Lydia Helen as the mermaid Aurora. A casting call for the Aurora part gave this description: “A mermaid who comes into the world of man for nefarious purposes. She must fall in love, then betray and murder the man in order to bring her evil plans to life.“
A release date for The Little Mermaid has not yet been announced… but it shouldn’t be far off, since the movie has a trailer and a rating.

Source: collider.com/the-little-mermaid-horror-trailer/'The Little Mermaid' Gets an R-Rated Makeover in New Trailer BY KEVIN MCCALL PUBLISHED 4 HOURS AGO No childhood classic is safe anymore
THE BIG PICTURE Childhood classics are being reimagined into horror films, with an R-rated twist on The Little Mermaid now in production. The new Little Mermaid movie follows an archaeologist who falls in love with a mysterious woman with sinister secrets. This twisted trend includes upcoming projects like Bambi: The Reckoning and Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare for horror fans to enjoy.
With the success of films like Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, it seems like no childhood classic is safe from getting a horror-themed re-imagining. Now a beloved Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale is getting its turn in the latest trend as, according to a recent report from Bloody Disgusting, an R-rated horror re-telling of The Little Mermaid is now on the way with its first official trailer.
Directed by Leigh Scott, the film centers on Dr. Eric Prince, an archaeologist, who makes the discovery that an ancient, advanced society once existed on a small island in the Caribbean. During his excavation, he soon encounters a mysterious woman named Aurora Bey, who he falls in love with. However, Eric’s friend, Dr. Ashley begins to discover that there is something more sinister to Aurora than what appears, and soon Eric will have to make the choice between listening to his friend or falling under the influence of an evil siren.
Lydia Helen stars in the film alongside Mike Markoff and Jeff Denton. The film is rated R for “language, some violence, and brief nudity,” following in the footsteps of other horror-themed fairy tale re-imaginings. The trailer certainly showcases the movie's R-rating, with Aurora, the film's evil titular mermaid, killing an onslaught of victims in order to gain the ability to walk on land. Definitely a far cry from Ariel’s journey in the original Disney classic.
No Childhood Classic is Safe in This Latest Horror Trend
While horror adaptations of classic fairy tales are nothing new, the past couple of years have seen a significant rise in terrifying movies based on beloved children’s properties. What initially started with films, such as Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, looking to capitalize on the new public domain status of classic stories, has now turned into an entire horror movement. The Twisted Childhood Universe itself is looking to expand in the upcoming years with new installments like Bambi: The Reckoning, Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare, and Pinocchio: Unstrung, among several others. However, outside of that, there are still plenty of other related projects on the way, such as Cinderella’s Curse and Screamboat, based on the classic Mickey Mouse cartoon Steamboat Willie. Now with The Little Mermaid thrown into the mix, fans of the latest horror trend certainly have much to look forward to.
No official release date for The Little Mermaid has been set yet, but expect the film to debut sometime later this year. Check out the official trailer for the upcoming film here.

Source: soranews24.com/2024/04/15/disney-princesses-get-official-manga-makeovers-for-manga-princess-cafe-opening-in-tokyo/Disney princesses get official manga makeovers for Manga Princess Cafe opening in Tokyo Casey Basee l5 days ago
Five Disney princesses are popping into Shibuya, and bringing some very unique merch with them.
There’s a Manga Princess Cafe opening up in Tokyo. That might not seem too shocking, considering how popular otaku-oriented themed eateries have become, but the princesses you’ll find at this cafe aren’t Sailor Moon’s Princess Serenity, Princess Knight’s Sapphire, or Ghibli’s Nausicaa. Instead it’s Snow White, Ariel, and a few more of their friends who’ll be giving guests the royal welcome.
Now you might be saying “Wait, those are Disney princesses, not manga ones,” and ordinarily you’d be right, but this is a Disney Manga Princess cafe, where the classic American animated characters have been given manga-style makeovers.
The redesigns embody several popular manga design cues while avoiding the garish excess that sometimes crops up when trying to add an “ANIME!” atmosphere to characters that originated outside Japan (there’s even a bit of an Akemi Takada vibe to the artwork). The Disney Manga Princess cafe’s quarter court consists of Snow White, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast’s Belle, The Little Mermaid’s Ariel, and The Princess and the Frog’s Tiana.
The Manga Princess Cafe will be a a pop-up restaurant hosted by the Oh My Cafe space within the Shibuya 109 building in downtown Tokyo. As you can probably guess, the food is festively colorful, from the sliced ham and vegetable pasta that comes with your choice of “princess sauce”…
…to the pink curry with heart-shaped rice (and your choice of princess decorative pick)…
…to the fruit toast.
There’s also a lineup of image color beverages with milk or yogurt bases (strawberry flavor for Snow White, watermelon for Cinderella, banana for Belle, Peach for Ariel, and melon for Tiana), plus iced tea which comes in a special decorative bottle.
But the big draw here, of course, is going to be the exclusive merch that’ll be on sale at the cafe, featuring these character designs that you can’t get anywhere else.
As is often the case with themed restaurants in Japan, reservations are required for the Manga Princess Cafe, with a service charge of 700 yen (US$4.60) per diner. As long as you order anything on the menu, though, you’ll get a sticker set for one of the manga princesses (shown above), selected at random.
The characters also appear on coasters, drink bottles, stirring spoons…
…key chains, compact mirrors…
…drawstring pouches, handkerchiefs…
…carabiner clip pouches, commuter pass cases…
…and plastic clear files and round memo pad tins.
Prices for food and drink are 2,090 yen for the pasta or curry, 1,590 yen for the fruit toast, 1,190 yen for the charter drinks, and 790 yen for the iced tea.
The Disney Manga Princess Cafe opens April 26 and runs until June 9. Reservations can be made through the Oh My Cafe website here.
