Hi I was thinking about the Disney Sequel/Prequels and how some of them are quite good whereas others do the Original absolutely NO favors. I thought I would see people's TOP 3 BEST and WORST of the Disney Sequels. So here's mine: [glow=red,2,300]My TOP 3 BEST DISNEY SEQUELS[/glow]: 1. The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea- I know alot of you hate this, but I don't completely HATE this movie anything to see more of my favoirte mermaid. Although I think the film should have centred more around Ariel than Melody 2. Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas- Who carn't like this film, I loved to watch this near the festive period when I was younger 3. Cinderella II: Dreams Come True- Right when I first watched this movie I didn't think much of it at all, in fact earlier on this forum I even stated that I thought this movies was DREADFUL, but it was on the Disney Channel last week and I decided to watch it, and I have to say I actually quite enjoyed it [glow=red,2,300]Now for my TOP 3 WORST Sequels[/glow] 1. Peter Pan: Return to Neverland- I really loved the original SOOOOO much it is infact one of my favorite Disney movies, and I hated this sequel. I hated the fact that Wendy had grown up, Jane was so stuck up and rude, the crocodile was missing and the mermaids (my favorite as you can tell from my banner) were in it for all of two seconds! 2. Tarzan II- I have only seen bits of this and I hated it. The first one was quite good, but why did they have make a movie based around his childhood, when they covered it in the first movie BIZZARE 3. Finally I also don't really like The Rescuers Down Under I much prefered the first one and this is classed as the 29th Classic! I think this was the first sequel to be made and that's why it's in the Classics, but I didn't like the characters and the plot etc. Well that's my list I would love to hear from you guys n_n .....

I am going to have to strongly disagree with you on Return to Neverland. I have seen maybe 2 Disney sequels so I am limited in what I can compare it to, but absolutely loved this. I thought the sentimental value and message was beautiful. It was great to see Wendy all grown up and still such a strong believer in Peter Pan.
I also love how the character Jane who had so many adult responsibilities put on her as a little girl was able to break free of that and experience the joys of childhood and magic. The end is the absolute best when Wendy encounters Peter Pan as an adult and for a split second she is able to fly. It is such a comfort to someone of my age just to see that no matter how old you are, you never fully have to grow up and all these things we've loved as child still stay strong in our hearts.
It was nice to see a Disney sequel that stood so true to the heart of what Disney is all about.

Yer I did like that ending, but that's just my opinion on this sequel I suppose it must be good to some people if it had a theatrical release That is a nice meassge that you can never grow out of things, that's one thing I can relate to with this film lol

Yeah, I haven't seen enough of them to make a decent top/bottom three since most look pointless so I tend to stay away. The only three I do own are The Lion King 2, Lady and the Tramp 2, and BatB Enchanted Christmas so I guess those would be my top three since I did enjoy them.

I would have to say that i also love the Rescuers down under, it was such a great movie for the longest time i thought it was the first I did as well! It took me a few years to find out it wasn't. I also learned my other friend thought the same thing as well. I think it was because I saw that one first or something.

My top 3 fave sequels probs r... 1: Lion King- Simba's pride. You gotta admit this was such a great film 2: Beauty and the Beast - Enchanted Christmas. This film was great and the songs were too. 3: Peter Pan- Return to Neverland. Oh come on this film really wasnt that bad tho lacking the mermaids and the crocodile. Worst 3 sequels 1: The Little Mermaid II - CRAP CRAP CRAP! Would have been soooooooo mcuh better without that whiney little brat of Ariels daughter, Melody....Ariel and Eric created a MONSTER!! ahem..back to the point... 2: Cinderella 2: Man that was boring I fell asleep just watching it. Big wow she falls in love with the baker which isnt approved of by the control freaking mother. Much like any old love story... 3: Tarzan and Jane - I have to agree with ArielAngel on that one...I wasnt atleast an hour of my life on that. It was so cheesy..bleh!

Return to Neverland is one of my favourite Disney movies ever! It's such an incredible tribute to Peter Pan, with the whole cloud sequence and then the sound clips as they enter Neverland. I love the ending and that song that plays a few times throughout the movie. I also like Toy Story 2, but only because of Jodi as Tourguide Barbie! The Return of Jafar is another good one. It's kinda like an extra long epsiode of the TV show, so they're not aiming for the quality of Aladdin by any means. I think it works out better that way - simple and fun. Cinderella 2 is pretty good, if you're in the right happy magic Disney mood. The songs suck though. TLM 2 is ok. The music is good and the opening sequence with the union of the land and the sea, but Melody is horrible! Tarzan 2 was weird. The beginning was good, but I don't think I even understood most of it. From what I've seen of Pocahontas 2, it looks horrendous! In the part I saw, she walked down this big staircase all dressed up with a really pale face and she said "it's called powder". That was strange.

I think the worst Disney sequels I've seen have got to be:
3. Lady and the Tramp II- don't ask why I watched it, I don't even know why.
2. The Hunchback of Notre Dame II- go ahead, take one of the most beautiful artistic statements the company has ever made in its over 60 year existance and ruin it in an hour and a half.
1. This is a toss up between TLM II and, sorry everyone, REturn to Neverland. I haven't seen the moive since I saw in it in the theatre, so may be now I'd like it better. And while I do agree, that opening cloud sequence made me cry, I remember thinking that it was dark and unhappy. But, that's just my opinion. I'm completely willing to watch it again! And, well, we all know why TLM II stinks.
My favorites are as follows:
3. The Lion King 1 1/2- I know a lot of people hated this movie, but I thought that it was hilarious! Hooray for Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella!
2. Aladdin and the King of Thieves- OMG I LOVE THIS MOVIE! I love the songs, I love the story, I love the characters. And also, Hooray for Robin Williams, the ONLY Genie!
1. Beauty and the Beast the Enchanted Christmas- This is a beautiful story with gorgeous music (Paige and Bernadette Peters *faints*). Just wonderful and my holiday season is not complete without it.

In fact I was really upset they'd done this to one of my favorite Disney Movies n_n but of course that is just my opinion

Aladdin and the King of Thieves hands down gets my vote for BEST DISNEY SEQUEL EVER!! It was fantastic and amazing and wonderful and a true continuation of the storyline as set forth in the movie and in the series.
And then Toy Story 2 and D2.
I purposely stay away from most of the singles because the animation quality disappoints me so much I can't decide how I feel about the story itself. I do know that I will most likely never watch Bambi 2 or Fox and the Hound 2. Neither story needs anything else added to it. And Fox and the Hound was the first movie I ever remember seeing in theaters so I want it to stay the way it is in my memory and on the DVD.

Top 3 Best: Cinderella III: A Twist In Time- OMG, the very first song captured me. Cinderella's determination to get her happy ending is truly amazing. The ending got me really emotional. I just can't stress how much I love this movie.
Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has A Glitch- This really captured the "spirit" so to say of Lilo & Stitch's relationship. I thought it was really funny and sweet how Lilo would do anything to save him.
Bambi 2- It's been years since I'd seen the first, but the second was really cute and I liked it.
Top 3 Worst The Little Mermaid II: Return To The Sea- I personally thought this movie destroyed everything the first movie created. It was the EXACT SAME story line only in reverse. And instead of a beautiful Mermaid with an amazing dream we got an annoying girl with a stupid reverse wish.
And those are pretty much the only sequals I've seen. I saw The Lion King 2 but only once and I remember nothing from it.
I still have yet to see Peter Pan II: Return To Neverland. I heard this movie was really good. I'll get it when it comes back out on DVD.

I haven't seen them all but I've seen most. Only ones I haven't seen are Tarzan and Jane, Stitch! The Movie, and Tarzan II. Out of the ones I've seen hmmm....
Best: Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas The Lion King II: Simba's Pride Bambi II
Worst: Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World Jungle Book II Atlantis II: Milo's Return (if you can even call it a sequel)
They aren't on my list but I really like: The Rescuers Down Under The Lion King 1 1/2 Mulan II Lilo & Stitch: Stitch Has A Glitch Kronk's New Groove Brother Bear II Fox and the Hound II Cinderella III
They aren't the best but they are good for what they are.
Ones I haven't mentioned are just ones I would probably only ever watch again with my younger cousins or something.
Some of these sequels are really good but have been completely ruined by just the production value. I’m mad because all the sequels they have been coming out with lately the animation looks great. 1994 – 2003 only a few of the sequels look half way decent.
