How old were you the first time you saw it?: At least 5, since it was released in 1989 and I was born in 1985, and I remember being crazy about it as a little kid. How old are you now?: 23 (but in my mind, I think I am still 16, like Ariel! LOL!) Did you see it in theaters?: As far as I know. I'm pretty sure I did, other wise I probably wouldn't have had every TLM piece of merchandise known to man at 5 years old. Who was with you?: Good question. I can't remember exactly. Probably my dad or both my parents. If not, then maybe my older brother. How many times have you seen it?: I'm not sure. Presently since getting the DVD, I've watched it around 5 or six times, maybe more. When I was a little kid, I'm certain it was much more then that, so altogether, I've see it a lot, I'm sure. Though now I want to watch it at least 200 times and get a record, so I can make a commemorative fanart for my Deviantart page. Can you recite the whole thing by heart?: Um, no. (Not yet, anyway. Hahah!) Who is your favorite character(s)?: Ariel, Ursula, Flounder, Sebastian is cool, too. Eventhough she's not a main character, I think Adella is cute because she's "chubby". Why?: Thier personalities, mostly. (And Ariel's hair, voice, ect.) I like how cute Flounder is. I like how dramatic and evil Ursula is. Sebastian is just plain funny and I like how he watches over Ariel and is such a stuffy character and whatever. ("Don't you shake your head at me young lady!") Adella is chubby and boy crazy. Me too. Has that always been your favorite or has it changed over the years?: When I was little it was alll about Ariel. I've grown up and can now appreciate the other characters more. Do you own the movie, if so, what formats?: Platinum edition DVD in all it's splendiforus glory! Have you ever actually seen Mickey & Donald in the crowd?: Not in the crowd exactly. I got to meet Mickey and Minny when I was little as they were walking around the park. I think I have a picture around somewhere with Donald when I was 3. What's your favorite scene & why?: I have to pick just one?! Where she sings part of your world. (I never get sick of that song). Favorite Song?: Part of Your World (and reprise!) Favorite Lyric?:" Bet'cha on land they understand Bet they don't reprimand their daughters Bright young women sick of swimmin' Ready to stand" Favorite Line?:"You gotta pucker up like dis, and bat your eyes like dis..." (I almost always am in stiches over that. Sebastian, you're hilarious!) Have you ever dressed up as one of the characters for halloween?: No. Does anyone else in your life share your passion or are you on your own?: My Best friend does! Not surprising, we like a lot of the same childhood stuff. Do/Did you have any collectibles (snow globes etc.?): I had the poster at one time, and a doll. I now have: A pen (Broke. Gotta fix it) A doll from the disney store that actually looks like Ariel. A disney pricess ice pack of all things! The original bed comforter. Big fuzzy blanket. (Yay!) The soundtrack. A few songs on my pc. Do/Did you have any posters?: Used to. Maybe I should buy another one? Are they still prominently displayed?: It was. Have you completely driven your friends & family crazy with your obsession?: I think my dad is tolerating it, as with my other obsessions. I said I was looking for TLM 3 in the video store and he was like "Oh." as in "Not again! You're not over that yet?! Why can't you watch something suitable to your age group?!" (Pfft. I do all that time, but he's not really aware of it. Lost, Heroes and Smallville are my fave "grown up" shows.) Do you make graphics for LJ etc. based on the movie, if so, can we see them?: Does taking the time to make a 47 frame animated avatar sound like I make graphics to you? I have only made a couple, but they aren't anything really special. What's your opinion on the scene with the priest and his...protrusion?: No. Just....no. (Whoever started that rumor is a really rude person.) Do you have the original VHS with the recalled case?: Nope, but I think that was my poster. Tell us a fun fact about the film you think others may not know: I don't think I know anything that isn't already public knowledge. Tell us a personal fun fact about the film: I have the urge to sing along with Ariel and more often then not will give into it. (Except when I'm with the family. I'm not a very good singer and don't like how I sound.) Do you plan to show your kids the film, or if you have kids, have they seen in?: I don't plan on having kids, but if by chance i have a sweet little girl, I will watch it with her. Heck, when I get a boyfriend, I'll be forcing him to watch with me and hope he kisses me when "kiss the girl" comes on. What are your thoughts on TLM II?: Saw it once long before the obsession resurfaced (LOL. Pun not intended!). It didn't do anything to bring back the magic spark and to be honest, I bareley remember it, it's been that long! I'd like to see it again, because the idea of Ariel having a kid intrigues me, and I'd like to see them sing the song they had together. Did you like Melody?: ...Probably not, but if I ever see the movie again, my opinion might change. Not very likely, but you never know. What are your thoughts about the third?: It was alright, not horrible. I'll probably end up buying it just for Benjamin and the animation, among a few other things. (I liked the extras and Ariel's song.) Did you watch the TV series much?: Pfft! I had my parents TAPE it for me when it was originally on! I watched it in the afternoons when disney brought it back not too long ago, but now it's on at 4:30 in the morning where I am. :( Anything else you would like to add or say?: I wish I could sing just like Ariel...and Eric is hot. (heehee!) I think I'm getting a little crush on him again. (Liked him as a kid. What little girl didn't?!)

Have you ever actually seen Mickey & Donald in the crowd?: Yes, because my DVD player has a zoom option ! Goofy too - AND the little mergirl wearing the Mickey Mouse ears !
What's your favorite scene & why?: I think the part where Triton destroys Ariels grotto - you just feel so bad for her as she's pleading with her father to stop and when she just sinks down totally distraught.
Favorite Song?: Part of Your World
Favorite Lyric?: Watch and you'll see, someday I'll be part of your world.
Favorite Line?: Why Eric... run away with you.. this is all so ...so sudden ( giggles ) ohhh Daddy !
Have you ever dressed up as one of the characters for halloween?: Nope
Does anyone else in your life share your passion or are you on your own?: No just me - but my partner thinks its cute !
Do/Did you have any collectibles (snow globes etc.?) I have the WDCC pieces featuring Ariel ( Seahorse Surprise, Kiss the Girl, Morning Daddy and Wedding Couple ) Precious moments piece, Harmony Kingdom artists proof box ( non colored ) Almost forgot - I have a framed animation cel of Ariel and Eric on the Wedding ship as they wave.

Anything else you would like to add or say?: I think The Little Mermaid will always be Part of My World. How old were you the first time you saw it?: Very little, since it came out just before I was born. My mom says it was the first movie I "went gaga over". I'm not sure if that was meant figuratively or literally. How old are you now?: Seventeen. Did you see it in theaters?: No, or at least not that I remember. Who was with you?: Nobody. D: How many times have you seen it?: I have no idea. I lost count a looooong time ago... Can you recite the whole thing by heart?: Yup. My friends will say something mundane in conversation and I'll continue the TLM line that goes with it. "Over there." "...you see her, sitting there across the way..." Who is your favorite character(s)?: Do I really have to pick? Max, I think. Or Ariel and Eric. Why?: I love dogs and Max is always right. Has that always been your favorite or has it changed over the years?: I think it's changed. TLM is tied with The Lion King for first place, and I used to think The Lion King was my only favorite until I got re-obsessed with TLM. I thought I'd get over the obsession, but it's impossible. I'm an incurable Arielholic. Do you own the movie, if so, what formats?: VHS, DVD, and hopefully I'll get my hands on the trilogy before I go to college. Have you ever actually seen Mickey & Donald in the crowd?: Yes, indeedy. What's your favorite scene & why?: Kiss the Girl. No question. I love the colors, the closeness of the environment, and I'm a sap. Favorite Song?: See above. I love all of the songs, though. Favorite Lyric?: Nooo, that's such a hard question! Favorite Line?: "Ariel? That's kind of pretty." -Eric Have you ever dressed up as one of the characters for halloween?: No, but my friends are forcing me to be Ursula this year. I get to dye my Vanessa-brown hair to white or get a wig. Never dyed my hair before (I like it natural), so that'll be an experience... Does anyone else in your life share your passion or are you on your own?: Well, most of my friends are Disney freaks, but I'm the TLM freak among them. Do/Did you have any collectibles (snow globes etc.?): Not much, but I may get some after college. Do/Did you have any posters?: No. I want them, though. Are they still prominently displayed?: See above. D: Have you completely driven your friends & family crazy with your obsession?: Probably, but they're already insane from me when I don't talk about TLM. Do you make graphics for LJ etc. based on the movie, if so, can we see them?: No. Just my icon, though I might make more. What's your opinion on the scene with the priest and his...protrusion?: Gaah, it's his knee, for heaven's sakes! Do you have the original VHS with the recalled case?: Probably. I remember holding the VHS case without the art on it, so it explains a lot. My parents must have taken it out. Tell us a fun fact about the film you think others may not know: Hard question! Eric's costume on the statue looks exactly like Prince Edward's outfit. I noticed that very recently, and sent my best friend a text message about it. XD Tell us a personal fun fact about the film: Today, in Physics class... (during a lesson on conservation of momentum) "And if they were both skating forward--" Me thinking: Sailing forward, standing steady, starting life completely ready...Do you plan to show your kids the film, or if you have kids, have they seen in?: I don't plan to have kids, but I'm definitely brainwashing my dogs and my friend's children. Their parents love Disney now, so I hope they won't mind. What are your thoughts on TLM II?: Eh. It wasn't a horrible movie, but it definitely wasn't good. Did you like Melody?: She's a bit too whiny and she was the ugliest baby ever (who plasters that much makeup on a child?), but she's okay. What are your thoughts about the third?: Besides the abomination that was Flounder, it was good. Athena should've had a bigger role, though. Did you watch the TV series much?: I did when I was little, but I'm not a huge fan of it. "In Harmony" is an awesome song, though. Anything else you would like to add or say?: My NaNoWriMo novel for 2008 was about mermaids, and partially helped in me becoming re-obsessed with TLM. I banned myself from watching TLM during NaNo and finished the 51,461 word novel in 16 days. Call that motivation!

How old were you the first time you saw it? Well, about seven months, seeing how it was around the time Mom left for
How old are you now?: 20
Did you see it in theaters?: Depends on which release. For the first release in 1989, well, I was still in my mom's womb when it was released, so no. If you are referring to the 1996 re-release, then yes.
Who was with you?: My parents, my uncle, my aunt, and my cousins.
How many times have you seen it?: Quite a few times.
Can you recite the whole thing by heart?: Probably.
Who is your favorite character(s)?: Don't have one.
Why?: Thanks to how Toy Story handled the whole "favorite" aspect in regards to Woody, I refuse to allow favorites.
Has that always been your favorite or has it changed over the years?: Always!
Do you own the movie, if so, what formats?: Yep, Video and DVD
Have you ever actually seen Mickey & Donald in the crowd?: Maybe in passing, but definitely not aware outside of intel on the Net.
What's your favorite scene & why?: Again, no favorite.
Favorite Song?: If this counts as not having a favorite, then all of them.
Favorite Lyric?: See above.
Favorite Line?: See answers to above.
Have you ever dressed up as one of the characters for halloween?: Nope.
Does anyone else in your life share your passion or are you on your own?: I'm an only child, and I have yet to find my future wife, so I doubt I have anyone else in the immediate vicinity to share it with.
Do/Did you have any collectibles (snow globes etc.?) Well, I did have a few Ariel Dolls (Don't laugh!) Other than those, I have some sort of Flounder squirt plush I got from Burger King and a model of Ursula.
Do/Did you have any posters?: I don't think so.
Are they still prominently displayed?: see above.
Have you completely driven your friends & family crazy with your obsession?: Nope.
Do you make graphics for LJ etc. based on the movie, if so, can we see them?: LJ? What's that? Although I do storyboard scenes in my stories.
What's your opinion on the scene with the priest and his...protrusion?: Never quite noticed it, but I've heard of it, and it's definitely supposed to be his knee.
Do you have the original VHS with the recalled case?: Yes. In fact, I still do. Didn't even know until finding out on Wikipedia sometime ago that they even recalled it.
Tell us a fun fact about the film you think others may not know: Well, apparently Ariel was supposed to be animated without Seashells (according to a Newspaper article), but decided against it. Also, The VHS re-release film contained previews for new films with Jodi Benson and some talking goldfish hosting it.
Tell us a personal fun fact about the film: It's somewhat good, for all ages genders and sexualities (Yes, even Heterosexual males such as myself can enjoy this.).
Do you plan to show your kids the film, or if you have kids, have they seen in?: Well, assuming I manage to find my future wife and have kids with her, sure.
What are your thoughts on TLM II?: I didn't initially like the Second Movie (In fact, that movie was part of the reason why I feared singing, other being the whole "Socka Party" thing on Kids WB!). It also made King Triton's palace look like a Ranch. However, when noticing the
Did you like Melody?: Although I wasn't quite well with the second film, I have nothing against Melody, contrary to most TLM fans.
What are your thoughts about the third?: Considering how the Music was a pretty big part of it, I probably would not have enjoyed it.
Did you watch the TV series much?: Not really. I would have been lucky if I saw it. I was also a bit annoyed that Ursula was in it as she was supposed to be dead (Of course, that was before I realized that this was a prequel.). Then during Middle School, if not late Elementary School, I became paranoid that any film I used to watch that could be labelled as being for kids would be called a "baby show," including Pokemon, Several Disney films, Land Before Time films, among others, thanks to Arthur calling DW's favorite show "Mary Moo Cow" a baby show (It also applied to books as well, thanks to Arthur referring to a book that DW wanted to read as a baby book [Ironically, he himself read this as his first book.].). Of course, I don't experience this paranoia now, and I now have a vendetta against Arthur because of it. Also, I can't watch The Little Mermaid Series anyways as we no longer have any Cable.
Anything else you would like to add or say?: Basically, I'm loyal to Ariel to the end, the same goes for Misty. I also get angered whenever marketers or other people try to imply that TLM is a girls-only franchise, because that automatically places us guys in a very bad light (as it would not only be considered "weird," and "out of the norm," but some of these same people will also accuse us of being gay or homosexual for little reason other than the fact that we happen to enjoy a so called "girls film." I am Heterosexual from birth until death, I am simply attracted to girls, and girls alone! I even had to go to confession whenever my sexual interest in girls got the better of me online. BMGf had already accused me of being gay just because I hated Pornography (since apparently a heterosexual is supposed to love pornography, in their minds, as well as act like a complete jerk towards females and sleep around.), even though I myself had to go to confession due to viewing the very thing I hated, and I hate it because it's a SIN! I'm sorry for rambling on about this, but this is a very angering aspect when it comes to the whole "You have to be a girl to watch TLM" for me, especially due to my being a heterosexual male. What, so we heterosexuals HAVE to watch action movies or movies with crude humor?!
Anyways, that's pretty much it, and again, I apologize for dragging it out longer than it should have in regards to the additional thoughts.

How old were you the first time you saw it?: At least two, possibly three years old.
How old are you now?: Fifteen.
Did you see it in theaters?: Unfortunately, no. :(
How many times have you seen it?: No clue! Hundreds of thousands of times, I'm sure, though!
Can you recite the whole thing by heart?: Definitely!
Who is your favorite character(s)?: It would be perhaps to easy to say Ariel, but of course, her. Also, Sebastian.
Why?: Who can't relate to Ariel? She is one the most relatable Disney characters, or just film characters period. I love her. And Sebastian is just the most awesome Disney sidekick of all time!
Has that always been your favorite or has it changed over the years?: Yes, those character's have always been my favorites.
Do you own the movie, if so, what formats?: VHS and DVD.
Have you ever actually seen Mickey & Donald in the crowd?: Yep, but via the internet...
What's your favorite scene & why?: All of "Part of Your World" and "Part of Your World Reprise". Beautiful Glen Keane animation coupled with the wonderful music and lyrics of Menken and Ashman, equals masterpieces.
Favorite Song?: A tie between "Part of Your World" and "Under the Sea".
Favorite Lyric?: "When's it my turn?/ Wouldn't I love/ Love to explore that shore up above/ Out of the sea/ Wish I could be/ Part of that world...
Who can't relate to that?
Favorite Line?: "I love you, Daddy." How such a simple line can have so much impact is beyond me (although, once again, the animation and score helps a great deal, too).
Have you ever dressed up as one of the characters for halloween?: Nope, and I really wouldn't have an interest to myself. But I love to see the intricate costumes some people craft. Now those are spectacular!
Does anyone else in your life share your passion or are you on your own?: No. Some people I know like it, but outside of that, not really.
Do/Did you have any collectibles (snow globes etc.?): No not really, just because I don't normally shop where they sell good, quality TLM merchandise. Someday, though, I'll get some thingamabobs and thingamajiggers!
Do/Did you have any posters?: Yup!
Are they still prominently displayed?: Not right now as I had to take it down for Christmas and never took it back up. But I might soon.
Have you completely driven your friends & family crazy with your obsession?: Not as much as I used to.
Do you make graphics for LJ etc. based on the movie, if so, can we see them?: Nope.
What's your opinion on the scene with the priest and his...protrusion?: Silly, silly, silly. Just urban legend, and utter crap at that. However, my question is, who watches Disney movies looking for, um, "protrusions"??
Do you have the original VHS with the recalled case?: Nope, but it would be a neat one to own.
Tell us a fun fact about the film you think others may not know: Michael Eisner said the film was set in France, but there seems to be some speculation about whether that's true or not. Some say Italy, or just some made-up, fictional Meditteranean country.
Tell us a personal fun fact about the film: When I was younger, I could have cared less about "Part of Your World", but now it makes half of the viewing experience for me.
Do you plan to show your kids the film, or if you have kids, have they seen in?: I will definitely show my kids, and all kids who have not thus far been graced with the mermaid's presence!
What are your thoughts on TLM II?: I originally enjoyed, then I reviled it, now I just think it's okay. Not a masterpiece in the least bit, and TLM didn't need a sequel like that.
Did you like Melody?: I don't dislike Melody much, but I don't care for Ariel or Eric much in this movie. Mentally, it's probably easier for me to pretend Melody doesn't exist.
What are your thoughts about the third?: I think it was hammered down perhaps a bit too much by the TLM community. It was leagues above (no pun intended) TLM 2, but it was no where close to the original. I think I enjoyed it because I'm not so familiar with the series, which this movie they basically wrecked continuity havoc here.
Did you watch the TV series much?: I did watch it everytime it was on.
Anything else you would like to add or say?: Nothing except the spirit of TLM is something very close to my heart and has certainly shaped me and aspects of my life.

Great questions, and I'm loving the responses!
Name: Adam
How old were you the first time you saw it? 8
How old are you now?: 28
Did you see it in the theaters? Yes, a VERY special showing for the Arielholics at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles California, right on Hollywood Boulevard. I did get to see Beauty and the Beast in its theatrical release in Georgia, right before we left for Germany.
Who was with you? In the theater? Arielholics! hahahaha Really, it was just us in there, we had the place to ourselves, it was pretty awesome. As for when I first saw it, I was with Heather, a young girl my brother was babysitting. Then I had a friend in 6th grade who had the soundtrack on tape and we'd listen to it on the bus ride into school.
How many times have you seen it?: 60 to 80 times. Probably more, there was a month there where I watched it every day before I went to work.
Can you recite the whole thing by heart? Might be a little rusty, but I could with a bit of a reminder.
Who is your favorite character(s)?: Hard to choose, kind of like them all I suppose, even Ursula.
Why?: I liked reading fantasy books with mermaids and other mythical creatures. Centaurs, Faeries, you name it, the Boxcar Children can get back on their train when I've got a story about a vengeful witch in front of me.
Has that always been your favorite or has it changed over many years?: From the first time I saw it, it played into my interests, and still does, so I would say always.
Do you own the movie, if so, in what formats?: DivX, VP60, FLV, DVD, VHS, and iPod
Have you ever actually seen Mickey & Donald in the crowd?: Yes!!!
What's your favorite scene and why?: When Ariel is on the beach singing to Eric and he begins to wake up. Why? Wow. Actually thinking about the psychology of it all, I think its the pose Ariel has for the brief moment we're shown her from afar, kind of a "everything is going to be all right" type of look, you can see she cares for him.
Favorite Song?: Ok, I'm cheating here, but, the Reprise version of Part of Your World, but the Demo of it. The lyrics are so much darker and I feel they are in the spirit of original story, expressing a longing for something so much you would do anything to get it, and at the same time, you just know what you want so much is out of reach.
In the final version of the song that made it into the movie, Ariel ends the reprise on a very postive note, whereas in the lyrics below, the impossibility of the situation is realized:
"What would I give to live where you are What would I pay to stay here beside you? What would I do to see you smiling at me? Now there's a dream, now there's a goal Now there's a need I'll never control I won't get free 'till I can be part of your world
What would I give, if I could live out of these waters? What would I pay to spend a day, holding your hand? I'd give my life. I'd sell my soul. Cause I can feel I'll never be whole. But I can see, I'll never be, part of your world."
Also, next up to that, Silence is Golden demo - That should have been in the movie!! The piano rolls, it fits Ursula perfectly. It's creepy, it's plucky, it's brooding, and it fits the tone very nicely when the deal is made.
Favorite Lyric?: The vocalization in the main titles, as we follow the fish and are eventually shown Atlantica.
Favorite Line?: "I'm not a guppy."
Have you ever dressed up as one of the characters for Halloween?: No, I have not. I've known others that have though. I have done Star Trek characters for Halloween though. Well, *a* character, Captain, of course, and its the uniform from Voyager. I just like it more. So there. I do see various aged Ariels wandering around at Halloween time though, it makes me smile.
Does anyone else in your life share your passion or are you on your own?: Just me. Though my Mom is into Tinkerbell, but its much less pronounced.
Do/Did you have your own collectibles (snow globes etc.)?: Yes, lots of them. Especially pins. I went through and counted things once, save for books and pins, 125 was the count as I recall. Posters, pictures, artwork - I have 3 pieces by Peter Gallerud who worked on TLM.
Have you completely driven your friends and family crazy over your obsession?: No, I keep it in check. There is a professional life and a personal life and I keep the two separate, My cousin said my room looked like a girl's room and my aunt uttered, "Oh my god!" - No one adequately prepared them. I just laughed. They don't get it. A friend who has since moved to Seattle has been the only one outside of immediate family who's been in my house to see my collection, everyone else I keep at a respectable distance - I let him in because I knew he would not mock me at all, he would understand, he was a geek too, and had collections himself. I was proud to show off some of my more unique pieces, things from Toyko Disney and limited edition artwork and pins.
What's your opinion on the priest and his...protrusion? I think people see what they want to see. A child's mind views the movie in an entirely different manner, it's the adults who put it into a different light. Honestly, out of the two supposedly naughty bits in the movie, I never noticed either of them until they were brought up. As far as Ariel swimming to the surface rapidly for the first time, I remember thinking, watching the movie as a kid, "she's not a mermaid anymore, she can't breathe water! swim faster!" and holding my breath with Ariel to help her out. Also whenever we would swim at the pool I would pretend I had a tail. It didn't work out too well.
Do you have the original VHS with the recalled case? Yes
Tell us a fun fact about the film you think others may not know: I heard once that originally the script did not call for Ariel to say "I love you Daddy" at the end of the movie. It was put in because it didn't add anything to the animation budget. Also, the Shark actually has a name, it is Glut.
Tell us a personal fun fact about the film: I originally didn't embrace my Ariel geekiness until I graduated from college and took a trip to Disneyland, it was my first time going. Also, in some respects, especially this, gender archetypes are a bad idea. I kind of felt ashamed that I liked playing Barbie dolls with my friend Vicky, it felt wrong to do it. Until I took my first trip to Disneyland, I didn't realize there are others like me, who are grown up and fascinated by cartoons still, and profess a liking of Ariel and other Disney characters, and other characters in general, who get together and discuss them, ask about other aspects, write fan fiction, and so on.
In school I took home economics instead of auto or wood shop... you know, I can read a book to figure out what to do with my car, it's a mechanical thing, it doesn't take finesse and love like baking does. I made a batch of confetti cupcakes with chocolate frosting for my bro's birthday. His wife was shocked I made them. The computer nerd can cook!? Oh yeah. I like to cook food, I take pride in putting everything together from scratch and bringing a delicious creation to life. Then eating it. YUM!
Do you plan on showing your kids this film, or if you have kids, have they seen it? Plan on showing it.
What are your thoughts on TLM II? Initially didn't like it, but it grew on me. Oddly enough, more so than the third. I've got something to say about the third one.
Did you like Melody? Kind of a brat, but yes, I like her.
What are your thoughts about the third? I liked it overall, but, Marina Del Rey had a very ridiculous sidekick. Flotsam and Jetsam were true cronies. Also, didn't care much for the soundtrack.
I know nothing can match up to the first one, but you get this guy, James Dooley, that does mainly orchestral work, admittedly some of it good, mostly for your Hollywood movies and some for video games. Dooly has worked with Hans Zimmer, who has done animated films before, including Disney films (Lion King is one I know of) - Zimmer has a resume going back to the late 80's.
This guy? 2000. 8 years of experience, lots of it working with Zimmer, not on his own, and he gets put on a project like this.
Dooley was a composer on "The Simpsons Movie", while I don't think Danny Elfman worked on scoring for that movie, he did do the main theme song. Unofficially I'm going to tie those two loose ends together. Now Danny Elfman has done tons of stuff: Edward Scissorhands, Mission: Impossible, Men in Black, Good Will Hunting, Red Dragon, Spider-Man, Batman, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman Returns, and Beetlejuice, just to name a few. His resume goes all the way back to 1980!
In short; we get a guy who I feel has no business sticking his nose into animation doing the scoring and composition for TLM3, who ran with the big man on campus, got a shot, and blew it. He needs to stick to video games. We get a remixed version of Sebastion singing "Shake Senora"? I got physically ill watching that part. Are you kidding me? What are you thinking?
Ok, I'm done now with that question.
Did you watch the TV series much? Yes, I've seen every episode.

Posting in here in honor of the 26th anniversary How old were you the first time you saw it?: Around 3, 4, or 5. The VHS. How old are you now?: 19 years old Did you see it in theaters?: No :( I was not born for the original release and was only a year old for the rerelease and living outside the US. There were plans for a 3D rerelease in 2013, but those got cancelled. I really do hope Disney gives it another go, I MUST see it on the big screen!! Who was with you?: My parents were with me when I first saw it at home. How many times have you seen it?: If this counts the times I watch it in my head, then several billion I'm sure Can you recite the whole thing by heart?: OF COURSE! Who is your favorite character(s)?: There are wonderful things about every character, but I gotta go with Ariel. Why?: As a kid, then a preteen, then eventually a teenager, and now an adult, I find more and more ways to relate to her. I have always felt like my thoughts and opinions were never heard out, and that I needed find my place in the world doing what I loved and being with people who could support that, much like Ariel. And obviously Jodi Benson is just stellar in the role, she makes Ariel really come to life. Has that always been your favorite or has it changed over the years?: Pretty much always. I do like the other characters though, of course! Do you own the movie, if so, what formats?: VHS (somewhere...), DVD special edition, and digital version on my iPhone. Have you ever actually seen Mickey & Donald in the crowd?: Yep, and Goofy and Kermit as well! Gotta love those Easter Eggs! What's your favorite scene & why?: The Bedtime sequence when Ariel sees Eric playing with Max and gets all flustered, then Sebastian goes into his funny little pep talk about the boat ride she would go on the next day. It's so cute, and the Bedtime musical score is my favorite instrumental piece in the whole movie. I play it before I go to bed almost every night, it is so beautiful. Favorite Song?: Part of Your World. For many many reasons. It is so near and dear to my heart. Favorite Lyric?: "When's it my turn?" That just says so much right there. When I feel like I'm being overlooked and ignored, I listen to this song and this line always gets me. I well up into tears without fail because I really understand what it's like to not be heard like that. Also tied with "Watch and you'll see/ Someday I'll be/ Part of your WORLD!", I just love the hope and determination in that verse. Favorite Line?: Ok these aren't as poignant as the lyrics I listed, but I will forever laugh at "The witch-the WATCH, was WATCHIN' a mirror and she was singin' with a stolen set of pipes! DO YOU HEAR WHAT I'M TELLING YOU!? THE PRINCE! IS MARRYING! THE SEAWITCH! IN DISGUISE!". Also "Have I ever been wrong?...I mean when it's important?!" and "Just a twirl here and a yank here and VOI-OLAY! Ah, you've got an aesthetically pleasing configuration of hair that humans go nuts over!". Scuttle seriously cracks me up!! xD Have you ever dressed up as one of the characters for halloween?: Yes, and it wasn't my finest moment. I tried to be Ariel in 8th grade, and the costume turned out pretty disastrous. I had no friends to trick-or-treat with, so I gave out candy in my botched Ariel costume all night to many people in my grade who made fun of me. Middle school was kinda brutal in that way. Does anyone else in your life share your passion or are you on your own?: To be honest, I think it's just me. I have good friends who love Disney movies, and we'll watch TLM together, but their obsessions usually lie in Beauty and the Beast (another great movie) or Frozen (much more recent, still pretty good) or something else. My friends think it's a little weird to have this passion stick with me for so long, but they tell me it's pretty endearing as well and they appreciate that I have it in my life in this way, as do I. Same with my family. They appreciate Disney movies, just not to the degree I do. Do/Did you have any collectibles (snow globes etc.?): I've got PLENTY! Do/Did you have any posters?: Yes! I have one up in my dorm Are they still prominently displayed?: Yes of course! Have you completely driven your friends & family crazy with your obsession?: Absolutely, no question about it. Oopsy, my bad.. Do you make graphics for LJ etc. based on the movie, if so, can we see them?: I did years ago, I'm sure if you look at my older posts you can see my entries for icon/signanture contests from a while ago. What's your opinion on the scene with the priest and his...protrusion?: It's. His. KNEE. End of discussion! Do you have the original VHS with the recalled case?: Regretfully, no. Tell us a fun fact about the film you think others may not know: The late and great Bea Arthur (of Golden Girls, Broadway actress, and Maude fame), was approached as the first choice to play Ursula, but she declined. Her agent I guess didn't even show her the job since he didn't want her playing a witch. I think the role description for auditions for Ursula said something about wanting a Ursula to have "a Bea Arthur-type basso voice." Tell us a personal fun fact about the film: As a kid, I used to physically leave the room when Vanessa came on the screen. Well, first I would yell and say "THAT'S NOT THE GIRL, NOOOOO!" or something to that effect, and in the scene where Ariel sees Vanessa for the first time and runs off, I would run off yelling "NOOOOO!" and my parents would have to pause the film and wait for me to stop before starting back where we left off. It really upset me to see Ariel distraught, and I guess at a young age I kinda forget how the movie goes after I had seen it only a few times. Do you plan to show your kids the film, or if you have kids, have they seen in?: Absolutely. It shaped my childhood, I would love to see their reaction to it (if I ever have kids...). Of course, there's a good chance that they wouldn't like it as much as I do, but that's all part of bonding. Whatever they decide to have a passion in, as long as it's fundamentally harmless, I'll support it What are your thoughts on TLM II?: I mean, I own it, but I don't watch it nearly as frequently as the first one. But this was the first DVD in my great aunt's collection of Disney movies, which had all previously been VHS's, so it sticks out to me for that reason. Her house was like Blockbuster's, I would come over and borrow as many Disney movies as I wanted, she had them ALL! Did you like Melody?: She's sweet and likable, always love the voice acting of Tara Strong. What are your thoughts about the third?: I liked it more than the second one, it was nice to get a tiny glimpse at Athena! Did you watch the TV series much?: Not as often, I used to a LOT as a kid, but time to time I'll see it pop up on YouTube and watch a few for nostalgia reasons. It was a wonderful series. Anything else you would like to add or say?: Happy 26th anniversary to this fantastic movie! <3

I don't think I've ever done this so I might as well~!
