Bubbles bursted from her rose like lips as she sighed, running her slender fingers over the golden and teal blue mermaid fin. Ariana paused for a moment before running her fingers nervously through the sunlit tresses adorned in black and white pearls. "Sister, where are you going today?" Her sea-green eyes turned tenderly to her sister, her heavenly voice betraying hints of anxiety.
(I hope this is ok to begin, we can just establish attitudes towards others as well go.)

Ariana watched in silence, pausing her nervous gait. Perhaps she could steal the mirror soon, her sister didn't seem to be in a very pleased mood...To take it now and flee before any more harm comes would be worth the chances of getting caught. "Goodbye Sariana." She whispered to herself, turning with a quick pound of her tail to vanish through the shadows. Though they were never close she always had felt something close to affection for her sister, her twin.
(i guess the villian can come in next and Sariana and him can talk ;p)

Whenever Arcato was deep in thought, it looked like he had a terrible headache. His eyes were clenched shut and his hands were balled into fists. In front of him was a open book, filled with ancient merfolk writing. One page was an illustration of a huge mirror.
Around him were two minions, hardly more than three feet tall. With the exception of their heads, they looked like frogs, with their webbed hands and feet. They waited in silence as Arcato slowly turned his head to the right. "Then that would mean, that...No! It couldn't be that easy!"
He opened up his eyes and poured feverishly over the texts. "It all depends upon the correct translation of this word 'ghurry'" He looked at it harder. "Wait! Not ghurry, but gharry! Of course!"
He snatched up the book and began to read a tongue not heard in hundreds of years.
"Ile nestark delea takata oael tro gharry tuola suranin!" The book was slammed shut.
"I know where it is!"

Arcato became most generous. "Please, you don't have to call me 'Master'. I think of you as an equal, despite the great difference in our ages. Have a seat, as I have made a most momentous discovery."
He pointed her to a chair at the side of his desk. He waited for her to sit, then bore down upon her, his grey eyes nearly piercing her.
"I know where the mirror is. You know what this means?"

"Well, yes and no. You are going to go as yourself to the upcoming ceremony at the castle. It is the Daleth Quadrate, the ceremony when all merfolk minors who have either turned 16 or are very nearly will are invited to the castle. This rite of passage, when you will be considered of adult age, is going to be noisy and full of distractions.
"Aside from King Triton possessing a rather large piece of the mirror, the frame is hidden in the castle itself. Your task is to find the frame and where the Triton piece is kept.
Arcato opened the book next to him. "Sadly, it does not specifically stae whwere it is an it may have been moved several times, although..." and Arcato reached over for a slender tome wedged between two larger books on the shelf. "...this book of the plans for the castle shows a hidden room just off the main throne room."
He opened the book for Sariena to see.
It is hidden in the depths of the Coral Castle

"under most circumstances, I would be concerned that you might get caught nosing around the castle, but I'm sure there will be lots of tours and showing off the grandeur of the palace." He tousled her hair.
"And such a precocious child, eated up with curiosity, especially with her first trip into a castle, could easily be excused for wanting to see everything. C'mon, let's see it. Give me the Big Eyes look. Those fools will never know what hit them!"

Ariana had swam steadily through the night, her hands tight about the seagrass bag. One old and worn but valuable for it had been her mothers. She had sped through all the main trailswith the covering of an evening light, avioding the heavy traffic that might have been in the day. She had to get the mirror, keep it from her sister, from Arcato. And when Sariana had come home that night there was no sign of her sister, not even a string of pearls left in her wake.

Sariana's voice echoed endlessly, Ariana wasn't here. No one was there to answer... She had left.

Arcato awaited in the shadows. One of his helpers stood at the ready. never speaking, he held his emotions in check.
"Time!" barked Arcato.
The creature spoke firmly, yet quietly. "It's just a bit past seven."
"She would never be this late. Something must have happened. Book!"
The creature handed Arcato the slim tome from within a bag he carried. Arcato opened in and began to ponder its contents.
"Is the back-up plan ready?"
"It would take ten minutes to impliment, should it come to that, but all is at the ready."
