It should give you a pop-up message, and you have to click Okay to read them. If not for that, it tells you at the bottom of the forum homepage how many new PMs you have, right next to where it tells you who's currently browsing the forum.

Here's a good one.
On my display name, whenever I submit a post, I notice my status goes up, from GUPPY to FLOUNDER to FLOTSOM, depending upon how many total posts I submitted.
How high can your designation go and what are the crossover locations? (Does 10 posts elevate me from Guppy to Flounder, for example.)

Hi there, glad you asked Everyone starts out as a "Guppy" After your 10th post, you become a Flounder; After your 25th post, you become a Flotsam; After your 50th post, you become a Jetsam; Then, after your 100th post you get 5 bubbles and become an Undertow! After that, I guess the next thing is Moderator... your 5 bubbles change color and your title is "Moderator" but only at the boards you moderate. Have a GREAT Ariel bubbly day !! Mike

So, as we all know, getting one question answered brings forth another question. This is not different.
On becoming a moderator. What is required? The rules, the responsibilities, the scope of one's authority?
I am debating it, but there is that time committment. I do like doing things half-way and I'd rather not if it means I could not be as dedicated as it requires.

Another question.
I see we are up to 538 members.
How can I find out what my "member number" is?

Another question. I see we are up to 538 members. How can I find out what my "member number" is? There is no actual member number assigned. As for becoming a mod, it would take a certain amount of commitment and yes, time Hope this helps. Have a GREAT Ariel day!! Mike

I guess we're going back and forth on the moderator question.
I mean, it really sounds exciting and all, but is there kind of a test program or a forum that isn't too overwhelming at first to try out my sea legs?
I'd hate to make the committment and then realize it is more than I can handle.

Here's a new one: everyone once in a white, certain topics are cut off to me. I cannot find a REPLY button. It's not all the time and I cannot fathom a rhyme or reason to it. Any suggestions?

I notice the Staff Area and the Special Area are missing? Or do I no longer have access to it?

Here's a question. What's the differenence between a moderator and a global moderator? Aren't they the same?

Here's a question. What's the differenence between a moderator and a global moderator? Aren't they the same? A good question and sorry it took so long to get answered.. A global mod can manage ALL the boards, whereas a regular mod can only manage his/her assigned board. :'(

Please feel free to ask a lot of questions so I can add them to this thread Hi. I'm new here. I just want to know how long does it take for someone to reply, and when the person does, do you have to refresh the page to see their post? Thanks!
