Scotsmen! I love how you're pulling in new characters! And the Ariel->Swim thing is a really interseting take, that probally would be hard if she was used to fins!

Cant wait to read more!!!! Awww, thanks so much, that's really sweet (I just love hearing what you have to say about this story, because it's always really nice, and encourages me to post quick and work hard!) Scotsmen! I love how you're pulling in new characters! And the Ariel->Swim thing is a really interseting take, that probally would be hard if she was used to fins! Haha, yeah, I thought I would add someone w/ an accent, and Scotish just happens to be the one I think is coolest! And I'm glad to hear that you like the new characters! And w/ the fins, that's what I thought as well, that it would be hard when you're used to something else, like training wheels on a bike.

Hey there everybody! It's so good to be back. That week away made me really homesick. Well, I just wanted to let you all know that I'm back - so no feer, I will start work on the new chapter ASAP! And for those of you that are curious - my team took 2nd in the tournament, which was so good considering there were like 30 teams. So I'm really happy with that! Glad to be back and thanks for being so patient everyone.

Hey guys, I'm so sorry to have to do this, but I leave for Kansas tomorrow, so I won't be able to post for a few days. I haven't quite finished Chapter 5 yet, but I really wanted to post part of it because it feels like forever since I've updated this story!
I figured that you would all rather read some than none, so I decided that I would post some of it today and then some when I get back. I'll just post it in parts. Sorry about the whole thing. But I do hope you enjoy this part of Chapter 5!
Tell me what you all think of this part!
[glow=red,2,300] - Adela [/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]Chapter Five: Secrets [/glow]
Part I
Arabella sat at the window watching the crystal-blue beads of rain drizzle down the pane like salty tear drops. With her head pressed against the cold glass she sighed helplessly. Why was she so nervous? It wasn't as if this was her first time meeting Eric. They had known one another since they were children after all. But for some reason, whenever she saw him, she could feel her heart thump against her ribs and butterflies tickle her stomach. Eric made her feel like a little child again. Whenever she was around him, she let down her shield and allowed the prim and proper princess that she was raised to be take a back seat for a while. Arabella squinted, trying to look past the droplets on the window. It was a dreary day, filled with falling rain pattering on the roof, and thunder and lightning, mingling in the harsh winds. And to make things even worse, anticipation was killing her. Her father had sent Desmond out days ago to fetch word from Eric's kingdom. Shouldn't he be back by now?
Desmond could see the castle now - they were finally closing in on it. And it was about time too! It seemed like forever ago that he had departed, and he was anxious to get back to his family and his job. The only problem was, he feared what he would do when it came to Arabella. She was so enthralled with Prince Eric, yet Desmond had seen with his own eyes Eric's current happiness with that beautiful young girl - A girl who wasn't Arabella. When the carriage had finally reached the castle, Desmond apprehensively stepped out. This was it. It was time to face his princess. Walking slowly up to the castle doors, he grabbed the knocker and tapped it lightly against the oak door several times. After a moment, the door was flung open and Desmond was greeted by a very happy Amelia. She hugged him thoroughly and ushered him in through the doors. "Desmond, I'm so happy to see you back!" Amelia smiled warmly as she lifted his coat off his shoulders. Desmond gave her a grin, "Aye - I'm happy to be back." "Oh, well Arabella has been waiting for your arrival for days now." Amelia said, stating Desmond's worst fear, "She'll be so happy to hear you're home." Desmond grabbed her plump arm quickly, "Amelia, please don't go doing that." He pleaded. Amelia's round face sank, "Why ever not?" Desmond frowned, "Well, it's just, I don't really think I'm in the mood to see her right now. I'd like to get myself cleaned up first. So I'm presentable." He lied through his teeth, praying that Amelia would accept his excuse. Her sullen look quickly faded and a warm smile spread across her face, "Why that's fine! I'll just finish some cleaning and you go get cleaned up." Desmond grinned, "Thank you." "Oh, it's no trouble at all." Amelia said warmly as she bustled out of the entryway and into the hall, where she resumed her cleaning. Breathing a sigh of relief, Desmond realized that he needed to act fast. Arabella, in her fit of love, would surely find him soon. With that idea in his mind, he shuffled quickly through the narrow hallways, towards the room that held the only person who could help him with the current situation.
"Oh Arista, it's beautiful!" Nixie said in astonishment as the other young mermaid held up a sparkling pearl necklace that her father had given her. "Yeah. It really is. My father gave it to me last year before the annual Ball." She sighed dreamily as the memories clouded her already distracted mind. With thoughts of the previous Balls already present, Arista began rambling about the event as Nixie nodded politely. In the middle of Arista's reminiscing, Nixie glanced towards the coral bed, which was rustling fiercely. She felt bad about ignoring her friend, but her irritation always seemed to out way her interest. "It's probably Angelo," she thought in frustration. Her baby brother never could give her a moment of undisturbed peace, could he? With a small frown on her face, Nixie swam over to the coral and pulled it apart, almost certain that she would find her brother. Instead, she saw a tiny fish with lovely electric-blue and sunshine-yellow stripes crossing his round little body. He was shivering slightly with embarrassment, and burying his head in the green seaweed that lay beside the coral. "Hey there." Nixie said, her voice as sweet as dripping sea sugar. Slowly, the little fish lifted his head to look at her, "Hi Nixie." He said shyly. By this time, Arista had joined them and, running her slender fingers through her golden hair, she sighed, "Flounder."
With the mentioning of the little fish's name, Nixie received a flush of memories rushing to the surface. "That's right," She said excitedly, "You're Ariel's best friend." The fish smiled, "Yep, that's me." Nixie nudged Arista, who turned to her just in time to catch her wide smile, "I can't believe I almost forgot about you Flounder - I guess it's just been so long." She sighed. "Yeah, it has." Flounder agreed. Arista glanced from Flounder to Nixie, then back, "So Flounder, what are you doing here?" The young fish stuttered, "I was just...just..I was...Well now that Ariel's go..." Arista was about to leap on Flounder to silence him, but instead took the less suspicious approach and just rudely interrupted him. "Flounder, never mind that - It was a silly question anyway. You never need a reason to be around here." She smiled nervously. "Really?" He asked in his usual stuffy voice, not catching her drift. "Really." Arista assured him, "That is other than now. Now, I need to be alone with Nixie, so just go find Sebastian." She began to push him towards the other end of the coral bed. Flounder sighed, "Alright. See you later." With that, he flitted his tail and was off in the direction of the music hall, to look for Sebastian of course.
When Arista had finally gotten Flounder out of the room, she breathed a sigh of relief. That was close. Turning around, she saw Nixie staring at her with wide chocolate eyes and a dumbfounded grin. The look on her face read plainly, 'Tell me everything you know.' Arista swallowed hard. Apparently her relief had been short lived.
There you go! Hope you all liked it. I'll be anxious to finish the Chapter up when I get back.

Wow scarletbubbles I have just finished reading your story and it is amazing, I love it. It's great that you show Ariel and Eric's relationship growing all the time, and I love it how you are also showing what the ocean's like without Ariel. It's also fantastic to see the conflict you've created with the Eric/Arabella and Triton/Kallon Storylines, and your original charcters are so life like. Keep it up, and I carn't wait to read more of this fantastic FanFic!!!
