Yup, it's the remake.
If you can tolerate the card system, I think it's worth it. The cutscenes reveal so much, and I loved them all. The plots for the individual worlds are...eh...but I loved seeing the characters anyway. Depending on how much time you have on a particular stretch of days, you could rent it, because my friend got it for Christmas and she beat on regular and reverse mode. I got it for Christmas and I'm almost done. Can't remember how many hours I've clocked, though.
I'm stuck on Vexen (aaah, I can't remember all these X names!) after the second set of world cards. According to my friend, I'm almost done.

But the scenes and stuff are as good as the one from KH I, and explains the story better, because I never finished the GBA one?
Let me know what part you're stuck on, and I'll look it up.

Never mind, I got un-stuck. I'm pretty near the end of the game now, or so my best friend says.
The scenes reveal quite a bit about the organization's inner workings and a bit about Riku (though through the first and second game you can pretty much guess his feelings about Sora), and about the nobodies. I definitely understand more than I did from the first-second games.

The next KH game coming out is for the Nintendo DS Its based on Roxas. No release date yet for it in the states, but it has been released in Japan!

I don't think KH on the DS is going to work out, they're going to do something with the touchscreen I bet. Oh well, just my opinion.
I want KHIII to come out, in all it's 3-D glory

Oh, I'm a DS fan as well, I just don't see how they can do a game like KH, and do it well on something that will involve the touchscreen.

The Zelda games (Phantom Hourglass to be specific) are a perfect example of excellent use of the touch screen--if that Kingdom Hearts game follows that example, it could turn out really well. It doesn't seem like button mashing would fit for that game, and I certainly don't want to scratch up my screen tapping the stylus five zillion times. I doubt they'd use cards, so that's good.
