Seeing that Moana is directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, it's very fitting that our dear Flounder gets a short appearance as a cameo! Olaf from Frozen will also have a brief little moment - but hopefully not as a puddle, that would be too sad! :( But it will be fun trying to find them, Disney does a great job with Easter Eggs and cameos. I'm already very excited for Moana! Lin-Manuel Miranda's involvement in it has me the most excited, as well as Phillipa Soo, Dwayne (the Rock) Johnson, and newcomer Auli'i Cravalho, Ron and John, and all of the trailers and teasers we've gotten so far make it sound like a wonderful new original film from Disney. ohmy.disney.com/news/2016/09/07/disney-character-easter-eggs-in-moana/?cmp=smc%7C578158881

I hope I don't get too distracted looking at every fish in the movie now to see if it's Flounder! I wonder if they'll find a way to sneak in some of the fish from Finding Nemo/Dory. I would not be surprised if they did so! I looked at all the trailers I could, but so far, haven't seen Flounder in any of them. My guess is that we'll see him in one of the scenes with the teenage Moana swimming in the ocean. Assuming she does any swimming that is, so far, she's been on that canoe boat more then in the water. And I've now got a mental image of Scuttle having a tug-o-war with that Rooster over some worthless, but shiny trinket. Olaf is a little harder to guess, they might have to be creative sneaking him in. Like how Sully is a woodcarving in Brave. And still very confused about how the timelines match up, doesn't Moana predate Frozen by hundreds of years? At least, I think so, the Polynesian nations are quite ancient, but Frozen is 1800s at best. But it's an easter egg, there doesn't have to be logic.

I saw Moana the day it came out, LOVED IT! Disney musical stories always put me in a good mood, this was so wonderful and beautifully done! I finally found the Flounder cameo! It's kind of a "blink and you'll miss it" moment, but he's definitely there! He appears in 2D animation during Maui's song "You're Welcome", he is swimming from the right side of the screen with a bunch of other fish swimming up to the surface on Maui's line "'cause I'm gonna need that boat!" š He's at 2:27 in this video: Pictures: As for Olaf, all I could find was his carrot being one of the many foods in Moana's basket, but I've heard there are THREE Olaf cameos in Moana, so I need to find two more! I did however see Sven in a pretty obvious scene involving Maui and his many forms, I wasn't anticipating seeing Sven but it was a pretty neat cameo!

It's curious that you got to see it already. I don't get to see it until the 10th of December and that's a special advance screening.
Australia is always last for everything I suppose.
I read one of the Olaf cameos is after the end credits or possibly during it, as a carving. I haven't been able to verify that personally yet.
I also read that one of the young turtles from Finding Nemo/Dory makes an appearance, but again, don't know personally.
