The problem is that the TV series has been more or less written out of existence by Ariel's Beginning, so it's unlikely to be referred to in future merchandise. True, but then again, Ariel's Beginning technically wrote the Original Movie out of existance as well (and by consequence, TLM2.), and yet, come Blue-ray, the movie should release should have some merchandising. Yes, Ariel's Beginning did, indeed, retcon the original movie, as many things in that so-called Prequel were quite inconsistent to the original movie in such a degree that it simply cannot be linked to the original movie at all. I mean, at least with "Twist through Time", they had a good excuse for the inconsistencies between it and the first Cinderella Movie, as the theme of the movie dealt with Time Travel/Time distortion. I actually gave a huge list about how AB had a lot of inconsistencies towards the original movie for a supposed "true-prequel" movie. I mean, even the original TV series had far fewer inconsistencies between it and TLM. If you want me to copy my post and paste it to this thread, I will.

yeah, but I know a lot of people who haven't seen the show that have seen AB. And that's the view they have. I don't think Disney would go back and forth so quickly. But it really annoys me that the makers of AB were too lazy to look back in the archive on certain charries ( Poor Arista! XD ) Even if Adella amused me greatly.
And as I've said before, if they don't put evident love and creativity as was put into the origanal movie, then I don't want anything else out of this franchise, sorry.

Where is your thread about the inconsistances pokeria? I would like to read it. It's more of a post than an actual thread, but, oh well, here's the post in question (the original posting was in the TV series debate.)

Thanks, and a very good post. I never even thought of that, then again, I haven't even seen AB yet. I'll have to look out for those.

I feel Disney knows that Ariel is very valuable character. It's been 20 years since her release and she still has an incredible fan base, and not just girls 3-7. I know that I used to never be able to find anything that had Ariel but it had all the other princesses on it. Now I see alot of 'just Ariel' merchandise. TLM 3 was a big let down to me I know, But Disney is going to keep releasing things. The new line of books about Ariel's life with Eric is just the beginning. If you check Disney Shopping Ariel is 2nd to Cinderella about having the most products. So no one should be worried about Ariel going away. But I do agree that they need to keep Ariel 'Ariel' Her image and voice must stay the same! I feel in the future we could possibly see a live action film of Ariel/TLM. Like The new re-vamp of Alice in Wonderland? Disney may do mermaid line, but that would mean removing Ariel from the DP line, which is something I think, Disney will never do. (money, of course.)

I would personally LOVE to see the film re-released in the movie theaters, just not in 3-D. Disney seems to be doing with all of their re-released films, and I'm not really feeling it with their older stuff. I think LM is fantastic enough without the 3-D element clashing with the original story. My opinion, though! I would love to know a lot more about Eric and his life a bit before he met Ariel. I mean, I think there was some little storylines in the TV series, but I may be wrong on that! I really like Eric's character, I think he's adorable, but it would be nice to see where he came from and how he grew up. That's all I can think of for now!

I'd love to see a 3d version of Little Mermaid on the big screen...
Would love to have another movie, or a tale that's 45 minutes long. => an adventure about the time after wedding but before Melody was born or about how she became fascinated with the human world & Ursula's past
