Mermaids are said to be gods. They are told through legendary stories from sailors or old boat men rolling along the ocean waves. Here, it is a magical and wonderful place. This is why many people come here. To see, for themselves, if the legend is true. If the merpeople were not just a myth.
Melody smiled, for she knew a secret that others did not. She knows where the mermaids are. Whom, rules, the sea. She knows the places where they can be sighted, but the places are closed off. Triton fears for his loyalest guards and his own family. They are the only thing keeping him from going completely crazy. After the whole ordeal with his wife, Athena, he became hard and angry towards the world above. He thought they deserved much worse than a death sentence. Their sailors were the reason why he had been such a cold and bitter merman. They were allowed to trespass through his home and they made the sea mad at them!
Even Atlanticans, knows when to stay away from King Triton. Not to cross him when he's in this kind of mood.
The trumpets were blaring loudly causing all the flags to flare in the sky. The wind had picked up, letting others know a storm was coming. Melody held up her elegant gown and glided up the steps. There, she spotted in the distance, her mermaid friends. There was Jeremy and James, the black haired mermaid, and one with a purple tale. Marina...
Marina: Come, play with us!
Melody thought about it and dived into the sea! The ocean's water sprayed the sands and the tides were lifting higher and higher.
"King Triton, must be in a foul mood."
"If the mermaids are exploited, who knows, what will happen to Atlantica!?!"
For, he knows a secret that no others knows. The humans had been interacting with mermaids long before time even began. Triton had been persistent. He did not want the mer to interact with humans, but some wouldn't listen. They boldly swam up to the boats and sang. The songs of the seas were said to be spell- bound. They were magical.
The humans never stopped coming. They, were..., relentless.
That was until that 'one' day. The day, a ship had crushed Athena with his plank. Athena had been so surprised that she crashed into the fisher's hook and down she went. She sank below the bottom and her body was left at the palace of the Sea King.
Triton had been so furious with the humans that he banned any contact with them.
