My third story! I got the idea for this one somewhere else on the board. This is Ariel keeping a journal and counting the days until her's and Eric's wedding. Enjoy!
Day 1:
We broke apart from our long and passionate kiss on the beach. Eric held his hand out. I put mine in his, waved back to Daddy and Sebastian, and walked back with Eric into the castle. When we walked in the door Carlotta rushed over to us.
"Oh you poor dears. You must be soaking wet! Let's get you both cleaned up." she said.
In a minute, Eric and I were whisked in different directions by servants. Before I knew it, my clothes were being washed while I was in a tub of warm water.
"Dearie, I had no idea what you had been through when I first met you." Carlotta said.
"I guess Gerdie was right for once." said one of the servants with red hair that was washing my dress. When I was finished, I got dried off as a rack of outfits was brought in. They had all sorts of dresses I could try on, so I picked a beautiful dark purple dress with a lilac shawl. When I was ready, they sent one of the male servants to tell Eric. He had told me he wanted to spend the evening with me and I said yes.
They opened the door and both Eric and I walked out at the same time. "Ariel, you look beautiful." he said. I blushed and giggled. "Thank you. You look very handsome." I said. "Thank you. So where would you like to go?" he said. "I am a little hungry." I said. "Anything you want to eat." he said. I thought because I of course didn't want any seafood, so I decided, "I'm in the mood for spaghetti. A big plate of spaghetti for us to share." I said gazing dreamily into his light blue eyes. We walked down the stairs into the dining hall and he pulled out my chair for me. I sat down and he sat in his seat.
Another of the servants came out and Eric told him to bring one large plate of spaghetti. While we waited, Eric wanted to talk to me. "I feel bad not knowing much about you. Tell me, what was the kingdom like where you lived? What was it called?" he asked me. "It's called Atlantica. It's so beautiful there! It's no different from any other kingdom or city you would see only made of different things in the ocean." I explained. "Really? I wish I could see it." he sighed. "Maybe someday you can." I said. "Did you have a big family?" he asked me. "I had six sisters, and a father. The oldest was Aquata, then Andrina, Arista, Attina, Adella, and Alana." I said. "Wow. Lots of A's. Aquata, Adriana, Alisa...Bah! I can't get it." he said. I laughed a little and started to tell him about Daddy. "I loved my Daddy very much but he could be a little strict at times. I did get in trouble not to long ago because I missed a concert we were having. He got so mad. I also had a grotto that I would go to sometimes so I ended up going there after he yelled at me, I was in there for a while until a ship passed over. So I went over to it and looked through a hole when your dog, I think his name is Max, came over and licked me. That's when I saw you and that statue." I said. "Ugh! That statue! I never want to see that monstrosity again!" he said. "Well, guess where it is now?" I said. "Where?" he asked. "In my grotto." I told him. "That's when Daddy saw me. He didn't want me to have anything to do with humans or human things, so he destroyed my grotto." I said quietly. "Oh, I'm sorry." he said. "So I went to the sea witch, Ursula, and I gave her my voice for legs. So that sort of ties into everything that's happened." "You really have been through a lot. All to be here?" he asked. "Yeah." I said. The food was out soon and we started eating. I picked up the dingle hopper, which I found out was really called a fork, and twirled the spaghetti around it. He stopped eating for a minute and looked up at me. I looked up at him and at that moment, we were both lost in each others eyes. "You have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen." he said. "Thank you." I said. We finished the plate of spaghetti quickly as a servant took our plate away.
Shortly after an orchestra came in and the lights turned down low. Eric got up holding his hand out and said, "Will you honor me with a dance my fair lady?" I giggled again. I held his hand and got up. "It would be my pleasure kind sir." I said. He then bowed and I curtsied. We walked out onto the floor as the orchestra started playing a slow, soft waltz. We danced and danced as I laid my head against his chest. We were so caught up in the dancing, we didn't notice that the song had ended and kept on dancing. The maestro and the rest of the orchestra smiled as they packed everything up and left the room.
We eventually stopped and went outside, down the stairs, and sat on a marble bench on the grass. I rested my head on his shoulder once more and he kissed my forehead putting his head on mine.
"I love you so much." I said.
"And I love you. More than you could ever know." he said. We smiled up at each other leaning in closer and closer until he held my hand close to his heart and we shared another passionate kiss under the moonlit sky. "Eric?" I said. "Yeah?" he asked. "I never want this night to end. It's been the best night of my life. Thank you." I told him. "You're welcome. I've met a lot of princesses in my life, but none of them were as beautiful, or as sweet, or as remarkable as you." he said. He looked over at me and stroked my cheek. The clock in the village struck eight and I remembered Daddy and my sisters. "Oh, no." I said quietly. "What's wrong?" Eric asked me. "I remembered Daddy wanted me home by eight. He said he'd be waiting for me at the beach." I told him sadly. He sighed softly as he got up and helped me up. We laced our fingers and he walked me to the beach where Daddy was waiting.
"Goodnight Eric." I said. "Goodnight Ariel." he said. I looked over at Daddy who was staring at us probably thinking that we looked sweet together. I stared at him a few seconds until he finally got what I was trying to say and dove under the waves. I had almost kissed Eric but I peered out if the corner of my eye and saw Daddy peeking above the waters. "Daddy!" I said. He chuckled and stayed under that time. We broke apart from the kiss and Daddy came up turning me back into a mermaid. I got in the water and blew a kiss to Eric. He blew one back and Daddy and I dove under the water.
