So I started working on a new fanfic shortly after A Visit From the Past. Hope you like it. Part I Arina walked for miles from her home to see different places. The last place she went to was a large kingdom on a small island off the coast. She got there and saw many amazing things, but the best site for her to see was the castle so she decided to explore it. Many guards were outside guarding the castle, but she somehow managed to sneak in past them. It was the most wonderful castle that she had ever seen in her entire life. It was much bigger and brighter than the castles that she saw in storybooks when she was younger. It was busy with servants that were so busy they didn’t see her. She walked around still being careful not to be seen and found a two staircases connecting to two different hallways. “Wow. I wonder where these lead to. I guess I’ll go up the second one.” she told herself. She ventured up the second stairs into a vacant hallway. Or so she thought. She soon heard talking coming from one of the bedrooms. She walked closer and closer to the door as the talking got louder. She pushed the door open just enough for her to see a young girl no older than her and a young man who seemed to be in his early twenties, talking to each other. “Woah! I must have found the Prince’s and Princesses room. I wouldn’t mind having a room like this.” she told herself. She watched for a few more minutes and tried not to make a sound but accidently made the door squeak. Ariel and Eric looked over for a minute. Arina hid pressed against a wall behind the door. When she looked over to her right she saw Eric standing there looking firmly at her with his arms crossed. “Uh, oh. Busted!” she said quietly. She found herself being confronted by Ariel and Eric. “Now let’s start with who you are and what your doing here sneaking around the castle.” Eric said firmly. Arina was trembling but forced herself to stop. “My...” she said with a high squeaky voice. She cleared her throat and started over. “My name is Arina. I just never saw a real castle before so I wanted to explore.” she said honestly. Eric was about to say something else and raised his arm but Ariel grabbed it and gently put it back down. “Eric, be gentle with her. Can’t you see? She’s scared.” Ariel said gently trying to defend Arina. “Ariel, how do we know she’s not a spy sent from some of our enemies?” Eric asked trying to sound right about Arina. “How did you know I wasn’t a spy when we first met? Please, go easy on her.” she begged and then winked at Arina who was holding back a giggle. “But...but...” he stuttered. Ariel just put her finger to his lips. “Shh.” she said. “If not for her, then for me? Pleeease?” she begged again. “Alright.” he gave in. “So Arina, how old are you?” he asked. “I’m only nineteen.” she replied twisting a strand of hair around her finger. “You see Eric? She’s no older than I am. So where is your family Arina?” Ariel asked. “ Well my mom and dad are farmers Haven, I have a brother in Antropolis, and two sisters in Genovia." she said. "Oh, so where do you live?" Eric asked. "Currrently nowhere. I move from place to place so I don't have an actual permenant home. That's one of the reasons I came here." she said as she blushed. "Well you're more than welcome to stay here with us Arina. It'll be nice to have a new friend around to talk to." Ariel suggested. "That would wonderful! Thank you so much...um...I'm sorry. I don't think I got your name." Arina said politely. "My name is Ariel. And this is Eric. I'm sure that we'll be best friends." Ariel said cheerfully. "But I thought I was your best friend." Eric said whining playfully like a child. "You're so silly." she said tapping him on the nose. "You see? He's harmless once you get to know him." "I know. Why not have a special dinner to welcome Arina to the castle. Would that be alright with you Arina?" he asked. "Oh yes, I'd love that!" she said excitedly. "Great. We'll have some of the servants help you and things should be ready soon." Ariel said. That night during the dinner, Eric had proposed a toast to Arina. "To Arina. May she be healthy and happy all the days of her life." he said. "To Arina." said the rest of the guests. Soon the dinner was over and Arina was anxious to see her new room. She opened the door and looked at her room in awe. "Wow! I've never had a room this big in my life! Thank you so much!" she said as she ran and hopped on the water bed. "Whee!" she squealed happily. Ariel and Eric walked back to their room and Ariel gave Eric a long kiss that faded away gently. "What was that for?" he asked. "Because I love you and for being the sweetest husband ever." she said sweetly giving him a hug. "Goodnight." she said climbing into her side of the bed. "Goodnight." he said back. Soon they were off to sleep having beautiful dreams. It's just not finished yet. Hope you liked this part.

it's really sweet so far, and it has better pacing than the other story you wrote. Don't be afraid to make a longer story if it helps develop your characters. I'm curious thugh, what does Arina look like?

She has her hair back in a ponytail. Same facial structure as Ariel. Brown hair. Brown eyes. I just need to figure out how to draw her.

Okay. I finally finished Part II of my story. It's just not as good or as long Part I. (note: This will be a much longer story than the last one.)
Part II
Ariel thought that since Arina was a part of the kingdom Eric could take her on a tour of it. She saw so much more than when she saw when she first came to the kingdom. Around twelve o' clock, he took her to a nice restaurant with really good food. Eric got spaghetti and she got pasta with chicken and alfredo sauce. Eric was slurping a spaghetti noodle when it hit him in the face leaving sauce all over it. Arina laughed and continued twirling her fork in her pasta while staring dreamily at Eric. They soon got back to the castle and Arina and Eric were laughing as if they had been best friends they're whole lives. " I guess you two had a good time?" Ariel asked. "The best! We had so much fun! But I'm tired now. I think I'll go to bed. Thanks Eric. Goodnight." And without another word Arina ran up the stairs, into her room, and flopped onto the bed. Ariel was still downstairs watching Eric do some paperwork. When he finished, Ariel had already gone to bed. He opened the door to his bedroom quietly so he wouldn't wake up Ariel, got changed, and went to sleep too. Over the time Arina was with them, both Ariel and Eric noticed that Arina had more than a crush on Eric. She was completely in love with him. Even if she tried not to show it, she only showed it more. One night at dinner, she was staring at him again and accidently dropped her fork on the floor. When she tried to catch it she ended up falling out of the chair. But she soon learned how to control these problems. "This should get rid of that little mermaid for sure!" Morgana said to herself while throwing a bottle containing a slug into her potion. "That's what you said the last time, and the day before that, and the day before that, and..." Undertow said solemnly. "Alright you little shrimp, I get it!" Morgana yelled furiously. "Touchy!" Undertow said. "And one final touch." she said throwing a rose into the potion. It dissolved and formed smoke in the shape of a broken heart that soon evaporated. "There, it's finished." she said satisfyingly. "Now my only problem is how to get it to the little brat." she told herself. "I've got it. Oh, Undertow?" she called. "Uh, oh. This can't be good." he said. "Oh, stop your carping. I just got an idea. I can make you human! Here's my plan." she said telling him her plan on how to finally get rid of Ariel. "That's perfect, for once!" Undertow rejoiced. "Gee, thanks." Morgana said sarcastically. "Here. Take this locket." she said handing him a locket no bigger than a pocket watch with a small gem attached. "Rub this gem three times whenever you want to change forms." she instructed him. "And one more thing. Take this potion." she said. "Well what do I do with it?" he asked. "Use your imagination." she told him. " Got it." he said swimming off with it leaving Morgana laughing evily to herself. Undertow reached the shore and rubbed the gem turning him into a little boy who seemed to be four years old with blonde hair. He walked towards the castle quietly laughing to himself and finally made his way to Ariel and Eric's room quickly thinking up a way to make Morgana's plan work. "Perfect." he said.

Now part 3 is a little depressing but has a lot of action. Tell me what you think and enjoy. Part III He then started whimpering softly as he was laying on the floor. Ariel sat up, rubbed her eyes, and looked around. She heard the noise again and tried to wake up Eric but he was in a deep sleep. Ariel got out of bed and walked to the door. She got closer and closer until she could a hear a small voice saying "Mommy. Help." "Hello?" she said. "Mommy don't go away. Help me." it said again. The voice sounded so sweet and innocent that she couldn't resist it. She reached the door and saw a small child with the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen. She bent down to pick him up and held him close. Then she carefully cradled him. "Shh. It's okay. Mommy's not going anywhere." she said. "Because you can't." the child said. Only it was the voice of a child, but the voice of a man. He rubbed the gem again and turned into a tall man. He grasped Ariel's neck and she struggled to get him off. She tried to kick him in the knee and pull his hands off her neck. She even screamed but no one heard her. While gripping her neck tightly, he used one of his hands to pull out the potion from his pocket. He took off the top and put the bottle in her mouth forcing it all down her throat. Her eyes closed slowly as he let go and she collapsed to the floor. "My work here is done." he said satisfyingly as he walked out. The next morning, Arina woke up to loud talking in the hallway. She put her robe on over her pajamas and got on her slippers. When she looked out, there was a crowd of people all staring at something. She walked out the door and over to the crowd as all eyes turned to her. She walked closer until she finally saw what everyone was staring at. "B-But...how...what? Is she okay?" she asked. Two guards came up behind her as Eric stepped out of the crowd. "Take her away." he said quietly but angrily. "Wait! Eric? Eric help! What's going on?" she asked sounding a bit scared. The guards took her down to a dungeon and locked her in. She ran to the bars and grabbed them as she gentky slid down. Meanwhile the doctor came in to look at Ariel. He checked her heartbeat and said, "She's still alive. But I'm afraid there's never been a case of poisoning like this. There is no antedote. I'm very sorry." Eric knelt down beside her on the bed. "So...there's nothing we can do?" he said with a shaking voice. "I'm afraid not Your Higness. Once again I'm very sorry. Goodbye." the doctor said as he walked out. Eric looked at Ariel and picked up her hand. "Don't worry Ariel. We will save you I promise. Even if I have to spend my whole life trying to find a cure I will." he said as a few tears ran down his cheeks. Ariel opened her eyes a tiny bit and said "Eric?" in a faint whisper. "Ariel?" he asked. "Eric, get Aquata." she said as she fell back asleep. Eric stroked her cheek gently. "I will." he told her. He got up and told the others that were waiting outside the door what he needed them to do. Before he left to find Aquata, he went to check on Arina. He walked to the door and looked through the bars at the top. "I hope you're happy now." he said angrily again. "Eric, what did I do?!" she asked frustratingly. "You poisoned Ariel." he replied. "What?! Eric, that's crazy! You know I would never do that!!" she yelled. "You're lying! I know you're in love with me Arina! That's why you poisoned her!" he yelled furiously. He opened the door and walked in. "And I can't believe I trusted you. You-You traitor!" he yelled again. "You can call me whatever you want, say whatever you want, think whatever you want, but I am not going to be forced out of my opinion into believing that I poisoned Ariel by the likes of you! I know I didn't do that! I'm just sorry you're to blind to see it!" she screamed. He grabbed her wrist tightly and said, "How dare you! You obviously don't understand that I control what you're punishment is. I can have you exiled, or worse! So I suggest you learn some manners before worse things happen to you, because they can." brutally pushing her down to the floor and slammed the door behind him. Her eyes filled with tears as she collapsed on a bench crying her heart out.

And now, our feature presentation. Part IV Eric was walking along the seashore when he saw Scuttle spiralling straight towards him. He ran out of the way as Scuttle crashed head first into the sand. Eric shook his head slightly and let out a quiet laugh. "I still gotta work on that." Scuttle said. "Oh hi Eric. How ya doin'?" he asked Eric. "Not very well," he replied. "Scuttle, I need you to do something very important. I need you to get Sebatian and Flounder here as fast as you can." Eric said. "Aye, aye Captain!" Scuttle said as he flew off somewhere. Eric, knowing Scuttle, KNEW it would take a while. He waited for ten minutes until Scuttle finally came back with Sebastian and Flounder. "Thanks Scuttle." Eric said. "Eric, what's wrong mon? You look like ya just ate a bad pack of caviah'." Sebastian said with his Jamaican accent. "Something's wrong with Ariel." Eric sighed. Sebastian crawled up to Eric's coller and grabbed it with his claw. "Whad' you do to ha' boy?" Sebastian asked suspiciously. "Nothing, nothing! It was that new girl Arina." Eric mumbled. For some reason he hated saying that name now. "Something's wrong with Ariel? What? What happened?!" Flounder asked ecstically anxious to hear what happened to his best friend. "She..." he took a deep breath before he said the rest. "She's been...poisoned." he said quietly. "What?!!" Flounder and Sebatian yelled at the same time. "Why when I get my claws on dat' Arina..." Sebastian said starting to march towards the castle but Eric picked him up. "Ariel was awake enough for a minute and said to get Aquata. Flounder, I need you to go tell her father and sisters. Sebastian, I need you to wait in there with Ariel just in case she needs anything and tell Carlotta. She'll be in there with you. I'll wait here with Scuttle until Flounder comes back." Eric instructed. Flounder dove under the waves as Eric took Sebastian inside to where Ariel was and Eric couldn't hold back his tears any longer. "You gonna be okay mon'?" Sebastian asked with a slight sniffle. "I-I'll be fine I guess. It just really hurts to see her like this. She is my wife after all." he said through the tears. Even Sebastian had a tear running down his face as he looked at Ariel lying in her still position. "You betta' get back down dere' with Scuttle before Flounda' comes back." Sebastian said. "Oh. Okay." Eric replied as he walked down. He walked past Arina's cell. She was in a feedle positon in a corner hitting her head against the wall. "Oh it's hopeless. He'll never believe me if I tried. I should've just stayed with my Lina and Sarah or Kyle. (Her brother and sisters.) I should've never come here. He hates me now. Eric then started to feel bad about how he had been to Arina earlier. He started to go in to apologize but remebered what he was doing and went out the door deciding to do it later.

Eric was on the beach busily pacing back and forth waiting for Flounder to come when something yellow floated to the surface. Eric ran over to the water and saw Flounder being followed by Ariel's father and sisters. "Where is she? Is she alright? What happened? Who did it?" her sisters asked. "She's upstairs in the bed..." before he even finished, the girls ran into the castle to see what was wrong. All but Aquata and KingTriton went in. "How is she?" Aquata asked. "Not very well at all. She was only awake enough to tell me to get you." Eric replied. "Show me where she is. I might be able to help." Aquata said. They all walked in and went upstairs to see Ariel. The sisters were already there and Alana was weeping on Andrina's lap. Andrina sniffed and tried to comfort Alana. "There there. I'm sure she'll be fine. You know how strong Ariel is. She can fight it." The others were sitting against the wall dead quiet as they watched their baby sister. Aquata walked over to Ariel and spoke softly. "Ariel, Ariel it's me. Aquata." Ariel groaned and opened her eyes. At first her vision was blurry until adjusted enough for her to see Aquata give a slight smile. "Aquata? How did you get here?" she asked. "It doesn't matter right now. Tell me, do you remember what happened to you?" she asked Ariel. "A little. I remember a little boy with blonde hair. He had the most beautiful eyes. He looked so helpless. And then I remember a man and..." she stopped. "And what else?" Aquata urged. "I don't remember anymore. I'm so tired." Ariel sighed. "Okay. I just need to know one more thing. Where were you standing when you saw the boy?" she asked. Ariel yawned quietly. "Outside of the door. Now I remember. He was strangling me and I tried to get him off." she said. "Alright. You relax." Aquata said removing a strand of hair from Ariel's face. She turned to Eric. "I just need one strand of hair and all the things that were in the poison are figured out." she said. "Do whatever you need to. Just don't let her leave us." Eric said. He would give absolutely anything to save Ariel's life. Even if he had to die for her. Aquata carefully plucked one strand of hair from Ariel's head. "There. Is there a room where we can do this privately?" she asked. "Sure. Follow me." said Eric getting up from his seat. He lead them into a small room and closed the door. Aquata reached into the pocket of her dress and pulled out a seashell made of marble and some things that were only found under the sea. She opened it up and placed Ariel's hair on it. Two seconds later, a bubble came up with Ariel's identity. Aquata mumbled the words as she read it until she found what she wanted. "Ah ha! I found the ingredients to the poison. One dead rose; snake's venom; tooth of a shark; and sting of an anemone." "What kind of poison is it?" King Triton asked. "Nalaroid. The most deadly poison in the world with no known antedote. Ariel only has two days before...well, nevermind that. What's important is that we get the antedote soon before it does happen." Aquata said. "Then we have to hurry." King Triton said. "Daddy it isn't that simple. We have to trace back all the ingredients in the poison and figure out how to make the antedote. Then we would only have one chance to test it on Ariel becuse if it were a dud then she'd die even faster. We need a guinea pig." she said. "How about Arina?" Eric spat. "Now Eric, I know you're mad at her but it couldn't have been her who did all this. Ariel did say something about a boy and a man." Aquata said putting her hand on Eric's shoulder. "She must have been delirious." Eric mumbled. "Oh Eric. But we can't use Arina. Maybe an animal?" she suggested. "Yeah. There are some animals we could use. How about a goat?" he suggested. "A goat will work. But right now I need some time to figure out the antedote. You two go find something to do." she said. "And Aquata," Eric started. "Hmm?" she said. "Thank you." Eric told her. "Anything for a sister and brother-in-law." she replied. What do you think so far?

Alright. This one isn't as good but here it is. Part V Eric thought that he could use his free time to talk to Arina. He opened the door and saw her sitting on the bench. She seemed to be deep in thought as she stared blankly at the floor. "Arina?" he said. Arina quickly looked up. "Oh. Hello." she said turning her head away from Eric quickly. Eric walked over and sat on the bench as she scooted away a little bit. "Arina, I know you're mad at me. And I don't blame you either. I'm very sorry for how I acted earlier and if you could find it in your heart to forgive me, I will find some way to make all this up to you." he asked. She thought for a few seconds and finally turned around. "Oh, alright. I'm sorry for how I was too. I know it was okay to stick up for myself but the "You're too blind to see it part". she apologized. "No. I have to admit it. I was too blind to see it. So you have no reason to apologize. But right now we really need your help in finding the antedote for Ariel. Will you do it?" he asked. "Of course. After all, she is my best friend." Arina said. "Great." he said. They both got up from the bench and walked out the door. Meanwhile, Ariel's other sisters were trying to take care of her. "Arista, get a wet cloth; Adella, get some blankets; Alana, check her temperature. Hurry guys! We have a life at stake here!" Andrina ordered. Ariel moved around a little bit and woke up again while Andrina was talking. "Andrina? Is that you?" she mumbled. "Ariel? You poor thing. You must feel terrible." Andrina said sympathetically. "Oh, you don't know the half of it. Where's Eric?" she asked wearily. "He went with Aquata and Daddy to find an antedote for you." Alana said. "But in the mean time, we're gonna do what we can to help you." said Adella. "Thank you girls so much." she said. Aquata was looking through the ingredients again until she figured it all out. "Yes! I got it!" she yelled running out of the room and started down the stairs. "Daddy, Eric! Daddy, Eric, I got it!" "Aquata, you got the antedote?" King Triton said hopefully. "Yes. Now, we just need to test it on an animal." Aquata looked over at Eric. "Eric, where is the goat you were talking about?" she asked him. "It's on the farm. I'll go get it." he said. "Oh, I forgot. We'll need to poison the goat. I'll feel bad about it, but it's the only way. Only we'll need another strand of hair from Ariel." Aquata told her father. She went back upstairs and opened the door quietly walking in. She went over to Ariel, got a piece of hair, and walked back out. She then went into the room where she was working on the ingredients for the antedote and got out a small bottle no larger than a Double A battery filled with a clear liquid. She took the cork off the top and dipped Ariel's hair in it turning the liquid a light blue color and back to a clear, harmless color. "Alright. Now to try it on that goat." she said. She went back down and saw Eric waiting with the goat holding its leash. Eric looked up and saw Aquata. "Okay. I have to give the poison to the goat first. Once it's about as sick as Ariel, we can give it the antedote. But the only thing is that it might take a little while for it to kick in. That way we have time to gather the ingredients for the antedote." she said. Aquata walked over to the goat, taking out the bottle, and poured it in a bowl for the goat. It bent it's head down and started to lap it until it was all gone. "Now we just have to wait for a while. In the mean time, let's get the ingredients. Where'd I put that paper with them on it?" She reached in the pocket of her dress. "Oh, here it is." She handed the paper to Eric. "I need you to get all of these ingredients before midnight on Sunday." Aquata said. Arina walked uo behind Eric and looked at the paper. "Can I help at all?" she asked. "Yes. I need you to go with Eric." Aquata said. She brought them down leaving the others to help take care of Ariel. They took two hours to pack their things and by the time they were ready, it was almost 10:00. "Do you know how to get to the places I listed? Do you have the map? What about the list of ingredients? Are you sure you have everything?" Aquata inquired. "Aquata, relax. Yes, we have everything." Eric said. "Sorry, I'm just nervous. Please hurry. We haven't got much time left. Bye." she said as she hugged Eric. They walked over to the carrige, got in, and drove off with Aquata waving back.

I agree that you can afford to take the time (and the space) to flesh put the characters and actions.
It is a compelling story. Keep writing.
