[glow=red,2,300]Chapter 7[/glow]
Triton reached the sandy beach that flickered in the sunlight. He raised his triton above his head and bright light wound around him. When Triton lowered the triton the light flickered out. Triton now stood on the beach clothed in peasant’s garb. Again Triton raised his triton and light covered his beard. The blinding white light gave way to a small red mustache. The top of his head was now covered with short red hair. His face was now that of a younger man. He raised his triton one last time and it brilliantly flickered and then transformed into a sword. The golden glow faded to a brilliant silver tone.
Triton made his way up to the castle. He was about to knock on the castle door when he the voices of two servants. The servants came around the corner of the corner.
“Come on, Triton is not that stupid. He will stop at nothing to save her, but he is not an idiot.” The tallest servant said as she pushed the shorter one in a joking manner. Triton jumped behind a bush that had grown right up next to the castle wall.
“Now, now, don’t give him too much credit. That fish head wouldn’t even try coming up here. Besides it way to dry for him. He would dry up like an old grape …” The shortest servant said as she turned to the right to look at the sea.
“Ursula would love that, especially if he dried up and blew away after finding that we had moved her before he could rescue her.”” Yet Ursula would loss the pleasure of killing triton by her own hand.” The taller servant said as she walked towards the bush Triton was hiding behind.
“Ha, if Ursula could have killed him she would have killed him before long ago.” The shortest women said as she moved closer to the taller women.
“Idiot, Ursula set up this plan long ago and Triton was safe when he thought Naiya was dead, but now that he knows that she is alive, he is……” The taller women said as trumpets sounded from the castle.
“The ugly old man never gives us time to our selves.” The Shorter servant said as she turned around.
“Probably wants us to get that woman ready for the trip.” The taller women said as the two women laughed and went through the castle door.
Triton stood up and gazed at the sea for a moment and then we walked up to the castle door. Triton paused and then he knocked.
“What do you want?” An ugly old woman said as she opened the door.
“Good day ma’am, I am a traveler and I am seeking to be a knight or at least a servant to the king.” Triton said as he bowed to the women and smiled a cheesy smile. The ugly women was about to yell at him to go away. When a strange ugly looking man walked up behind her.
“Aw, our reinforcements have arrived. Young man my name is Captain Marcus, but soon you will be referring to me as King Marcus.” The strange ugly man said as he winked at the ugly women and Triton.
“My name is Luke your majesty.” Triton said as he bowed to Marcus.
“What a well behaved young man. Marcus where did you find him?” The ugly women said as she snickered.
“Glen this young man was hand picked to help us.” Marcus said as Triton walked into the castle and Glen closed the door behind them. The sound of the door echoed in Triton’s head like he was a criminal receiving his sentence.
[glow=red,2,300] Chapter 8[/glow]
“Now there is only one rule here: Ursula has requested that we never remove the blindfold so that are identities are not revealed.” Marcus said as he led Triton down into the bowels of the castles.
“You have a lovely sword there son, how did you receive such a prize?” Marcus said has he peered at Tritons sword.
“I …received it from my father when he died.” Triton said as he paused. Stairs winded down into darkness. Triton just stared in to the blackened passage.
“Aw, don’t worry Luke, nothing down there will bite ya, unless Patches is feeling peckish.” Marcus chuckled as he walked down the staircase. There foot steps echoed around them until Tritons right foot hit the ground.
“I do not care, Ursula will never win, I will not……..” A women’s voice came from the bared cell that stood before them. The bars ached with years of rust and mold, but they stood tall as if they would never fall.
“Hope you don’t get sea sick easy, kid” A dirty gravely voiced man said as he shut the door to the cell and locked it.
“Don’t worry boy, we gave her a special batch of Ursula’s brew, she will sleep through the whole trip.” The dirty man said as he pasted Triton and gave the cell key to Marcus.
“Ha, Luke is a hand picked man of the waters, no way old blue would make him squeamish.” Marcus said in a pirate like voice.
“Aye, Aye captain.” Triton said as he saluted to Marcus. Marcus handed Triton the cell key.
“Now, you stay here and keep watch on her, Patches and I are going to get the ship ready to set sail. Hopefully we gave her enough of that sleeping potion so she will sleep through the trip. You stay here until I sent Patches back to fetch you.” Marcus said as he and Patches walked back up the cold tunneling stairs. Triton walked up to the bars of the cell and touched the cold metal. He lovingly stared at the blindfolded woman who lay on the floor of prison. He then kneeled on the musty floor and tossed the cell key in his hand.
“I could free you now, but it’s too risky. For years I thought you had died that day and every moment I looked at our youngest daughter I was reminded of my failure to save you. Now you lay here before me, and I can do nothing.” Triton said as he looked at the key in his hand. He closed his hand tightly.
“I have the way out, but I can not risk losing you again... Oh my love, what have they done to your beautiful yellow tail, it’s now two black and blue legs. Human legs, the very thing I despise on the one I desire.
“They can’t swim under water as long as we can, I will wait to free you. I will wait until we are above our key to your freedom, the ship sails soon. I love you, and soon I will free you and take you back home.” Triton said as he gazed at the women and a small tear formed in his left eye. As he wiped the tear away he heard hurried footsteps on the stair case.
“Boy, get the woman ready, we are pulling anchor.” Patches quickly yelled as he puffed and panted down the stairs. Triton opened the cell door and lovingly picked up the woman and carried her up the spiraling stairs.
“Man, that boy takes orders better then a well trained dog.” Patches said to himself has he climbed back of the treacherous incline.

Chapter 9[/glow]
“Aw, bravo Luke, you passed your first mission.” Marcus said as Triton reached the ship.
“We have just been sitting here, Boy. Had to make sure you wouldn’t steal the lady for yourself.” Patches said has he smacked Triton on the back and walked on the deck. Triton followed. He looked up at the sky, it was much later then he had expected to free Naiya.
“Follow me, I will show you where to load our precious cargo.” Marcus said as he turned and walked down into the underbelly of the ship. They stopped at a room, where there were no locks, no bars, just a bed and a chair. Triton gently laid the women on the bed.
“Now Luke, here is your next task, stay here with her and, if she wakes up, let me know right away. I need to ask her a few questions before we send her down to her endless sleep. Hope the current doesn’t bring her back to land. I want Triton’s eyes to behold his died wife forever as a human.” Marcus said as he walked back up on deck.
Triton rebelled against Ursula’s request for identities to be blinded as he lifted the blindfold off the women. The blindfold fell from Tritons hand as the women’s eyes fluttered and then fully opened.
“I knew you would come, as soon as you reached the land I knew you were coming for me. Ursula’s brew never worked on me, all those times I faked it really paid off. Kiss me my love, I have missed you.” The women said as Triton leaned in and kissed her gently. Bright light blazed from their lips and the passion of their kiss enlightened the room. Triton fell to the floor his eyes stretched open with horror of the women’s face.
“That’s right Triton. I knew you were coming for me as soon as you reached the land, stupid old fool. We moved her right after your pathetic guard and meddling daughter fled the land. Safely in the water they swam away while we moved your wife to a safer location.” Triton’s eyes fell shut as Ursula walked up the stairs to the deck.
“Hope you get a good sleep. Two hours should do you good, you’re so worn out” Ursula said over her shoulder. The sun had gone and the moon now ruled the sky. Ursula reached the deck and she walked over to the edge and stared at the water below.
“When will we be there,…..when are we going to do it?” Marcus said as he walked up to Ursula.
“Now. Now is the time. I don’t want him to wake up and gain back his fins..” Ursula said as she turned and pointed at a sailor.
“You, go get him, bring him up here now.”
“Soon my love, soon” Ursula said to Marcus as he embraced her.
“I will be queen of the sea and you the king of the neighboring kingdom.” Ursula said right before Marcus kissed her. The sailor brought Triton on deck. Lightning flashed and rumbled as it momentary brightened the ship.
“Bring him to me” Ursula said as the sailor dropped Triton at Ursula’s feet. Lightning revealed a ship in the distance. Ursula scoffed as she looked at the near ring ship.
“Don’t worry boys, he will no longer be a threat before that ship even gets close enough to see a thing.” Ursula said as she leaned down to Triton.
“Red was never a good look for you” Ursula said as she plucked a hair from Tritons head.
“Sleep well Triton. I will take great care of your precious daughters and I will tell them I tried so hard to save you, but I failed to reach you before the water became your tomb.” Ursula said ending in a growl.
“Do it. Do it now. I am ready to take the throne,” Ursula said as two soldiers lifted Triton and were about to drop him in the water when a cannon ball slammed into the ship. The two sailors tumbled to the floor as Triton rammed into Ursula. Lightning struck the ship and snapped off one of the sails. The falling sail landed on Ursula. Marcus ran to Ursula and tried to pry the heavy object off his beloved. Lighting struck Triton’s sword, transforming it back into his triton. His long white beard and hair returned as his merman tail took the place of his legs. The repercussions of the lightning hitting the trident pushed the ship to the sea floor. Marcus grabbed Ursula as they fell into the hands of the sea. The other ship turned and changed course for the castle. A young black haired man looked from the side of the ship at the destruction that lay before him...
“Grim, I have never seen lightning attack a ship so fiercely.” The young man said as a tall thin man walked up beside him.
“There are many wonderful and dangerous things at sea, but there will be more if he did not survive.” The tall man said as he turned and walked away.
[glow=red,2,300]Chapter 10[/glow]
Ursula changed back into her octopus-like self. Marcus looked at her with expectation.
“Sorry, but I only had enough strength to change one of us back.” Ursula said as Marcus turned blue and floated to the sand below. Ursula toiled and searched for Triton, but her search was in vain. After Ursula gave up and headed back to her lonely death in shape of a castle with the squirming, grounded worms greeting her as she entered the door way. Triton climbed out of some ship rubble and swam up to the surface.
“Where are you my love? Are you still alive? Keep heart and know that I still love you, and I will not rest until I have freed you and brought you back home. Do not forget me; if you have a human form, never lose the memory of the way we use to dance below the waves. If you did die, know that there will be justice for the joy they took from us.
“I let Ariel walk as a human and I regret it, I never want her to end up like you. I hate not knowing if you are alive or gone forever. I guess I will never know the answer until I see your beautiful eyes again. I love you, Naiya, and soon I will free you and take you back home.”
Triton dove down below the waves. As he swam back home to see his lovely daughters, he passed the corpse of the drowned ship it had helped Ursula in her schemes, but some day, it may be the very thing that defeats her. Triton reached the castle and, for a moment, he thought he saw Naiya swimming towards him to welcome him back home, but it was just his youngest daughter reminding him of his failure. He had lost her again, and then smiled at Ariel and gave her a hug.
“I lost her again Ariel, I ….” Triton said has he began to cry.
“Daddy, there is a visitor here to see you. She says she is your long lost cousin,” Ariel said as she led Triton into the Castle. The entered the great hall and there before them was Naiya.
“There was a ship from the neighboring kingdom; it intercepted the ship I was held captive on. A young man with black hair found me in the bottom of the ship. He took me aboard his ship and I was free of Ursula’s spell. I crawled off the ship and into the sea before anyone saw me. I knew you would be home, as soon as you hit the ocean water I knew you were safe. I love you and I missed you so much.” Naiya said as Triton embraced her and kissed her with tears streaming from his eyes. His beautiful wife was now free and she was home.
