The Origin of the Golden Locket
by: flounderfish
"Flounder! Where are you?" called Ariel against the roaring winds.
"Ariel! Ariel! Is that you?" yelled the small yellow fish.
"Yes! Swim to me!" she answered.
"Oh, oh, okay!" then, Flounder bravely swam over to Ariel.
"Are you okay?" asked Ariel.
"No! Why do you always talk to me into these thing? I coulda been killed!" then, noticing Ariel sad frown, he apologized. "Oh, I'm sorry. Sometimes these adventures can be pretty fun, I guess." Then, a gigantic wave rolled over them.
"I guess we better get back under!" giggled Ariel, the two pals then plunged into the water.
"Hey, Ariel," said the small guppy.
"Yes," answered the little mermaid.
"Tell me what we're looking for again," replied Flounder.
"Okay," answered Ariel, gently floating on top of a rock, "Well, Daddy wants us to find a golden sea-shell locket. It's lost somewhere in the ocean."
"Did he say why you were looking for it?" asked Flounder.
"No. Well, actually, he's told all the court and all my sisters to be on the search for it. He just says it's valuable to his heart." Ariel answered.
"Hmm..." mumbled Flounder.
"Ariel!" called a caribbean voice.
"Ariel! Flounder! Where are you?" it called again.
"Sebastian!" said the two friends in union. Then, out of a patch of tall seaweed popped the head of a small red crab, in his late thirties.
"Now you too shouldn't be out here so late" lectured the crab.
"We know, we know," said Ariel.
"Well, you should. The king's been worried sick about you. After losing that locket of his, imagine how he would act if he lost the two of you," replied Sebastian.
"Yes, Sebastian. We know," Ariel answered as the three swam off to the shining castle ahead.
