Seeing how one wasn't made yet, I figured that I'd make one for the recent Pixar movie "Up".
I went to the movie with a friend of mine (he basically has Autism, like myself, though his is mid-functioning.), and his family. We sat through some previews, including the Frog Prince preview. Finally we saw the movie. It was A- material for me. 9/10. I thought the story was good. The hunter guy, well, I was hoping that he would... you know, maybe try to do something other than try and hunt the animal (I know he was ostracised by the scientific community and called a fraud, even though that animal did actually exist, but come on). There was the possibility that he survived in the ending (he was strapped to balloons as he fell, and there were trees, and one scenario is that the ballons/the strings would probably snag onto the tree branches below, like someone with a parachute, though he's obviously going to have to make do with the jungle being his home.). I think Alpha (you know, the dobermann dog leader with the chipmunk voice when his vocal collar malfunctioned) was hinted at becoming a good guy in the ending, as he was seen at a retirement home entertaining the old folks.
BTW, a side note, my friend's sister's favorite character is Ariel.
Pros:
It had a good story that would be for ages.
It had a good score.
It had a good moral.
Cons:
The only con I can think of in regards to the movie itself is that some parts of the movie (eg, the Wilderness Explorer GDP being lost) didn't seem to be followed up upon.
This isn't necessarily a con in regards to the movie itself, but soon after I left the movie after it was over, I discovered that they did indeed release "Drag Me to he**" (I'm part Roman Catholic and part Episcapalian/Anglican, I try to make sure I follow God's commandments and laws [even with doubts of whether God himself does follow these laws], and I hate sin and he**. The mere fact that that movie even exists disturbs me.). That night, I was in a mental and emotional wreck from it after reading the summary on wikipedia, and I could barely even sleep without fearing that a portal casting me into the fires would open. I only fell asleep with my Rosary that night.
But enough of my blabbering. If you want to review up, now's your chance.
