Which do you like more TLM 1 or 2 and why ?

TLM 1 always its the best the music, the animation, the story, the lovable characters everything about it but its ashamed that TLM 2 didnt live well with the standards && expectations that we thought it will but its a good whole-some movie..

I never really liked number 2, Ariel's presence is minimal at best and the songs aren't even that good.

Initially I despised the second movie. But, it grew on me after awhile. However, while I like the second movie, you cannot go wrong with a classic.

Definately the first one, it's the best animated movie I know, it belongs to my alltime-favorite movies (maybe it's even my favorite movie).
Everything is perfect about LM I

LM II is a nice follow-up with some cute moments, but could have been so much better on many levels... They should have given it more time!

I pick TLM 1 because of clever plot, beautiful animation, wonderful music, and great character development.

TLM 2 was trashy and embarrassing!

Is there any question of course the first one, it is the best that is the reason why we have this forum is b/c of the first little mermaid, i mean the second is ok but nothing will ever be better than the first one!!!!

that would be so cool i always wondered like how she became so mean and what happened to make her get kicked out of the palace.

i picked the first one because nothing beats the original but i liked the second one too. the funniest part is in the second one and sebastion is talking about growing up and saying the whoppers popped out lol i still bust out laughing lol

Well, I don't know if it counts, since it was a "deleted scene".

But in this scene, there's a story where the sailors talk about how Ursula tried to steal the Trident from her brother Triton and was banished for the crime.

But since this was never revisited, you shouldn't interpret it as canon.

Mind you, personally, I think it would have added an extra "edge" to Ursula's ruthlessness, if this is what she was willing to do to her brother and niece in pursuit of power.

That was the best movie for sure, it would have been better i know, if ariel and eric hadnt changed so much and if the baddy wasnt such a take off from Ursala.
But The child, Melody that opened a whole new door for them,
The movie makers dont realise this yet but they could do so much more,
They could have the whole family change as a mermaid.
I Think Melody+TLM2 was WAAAAY better

The Little Mermaid 1 has so much thrilling, drama, action, romance, it's so amazing, and the songs are so touching, TLM 2 is fine, its fun to watch every once in a while
