I found a copy of the 2006 platinum edition DVD of the original Little Mermaid at Walmart the other day! Now if i recall correctly all the movies in the series were placed on moratorium back in Jan of 09, and they stopped making the DVDs since. So what I'm wondering is how on earth is that even possible??! Granted, it's a very good thing, but it still puzzles me. You guys think a loner copy got lost in the packaging room for over 3 years, then luckily resurfaced?? Also no joke and I dunno if it's kinda creepy, but I actually had a dream of finding the movie in a department store like a day before (along with Titanic, which I did not see however). Either way I'm really happy because I finally got a copy of the movie.

Dude, that's miraculous!
How that's possible? When I tried to buy Diamond Edition Snow White, I was a bit late (a week or so) and they had already been taken away or sold out. How this happened? I don't know.
Personally, I would keep that receipt and put it inside the case just so you can prove when you bought it.

It wasn't on a normal rack, it was just lying on top of a big circular case of other disney movies. I looked all over the electronics section and trust me, I couldn't find the shelf it came from. Just it's existence there was an anomaly lol. A cool thing I've noticed is neither the disc nor the case are flimsy like ALOT of movies I've bought recently. Way more mid-2000ish in terms of quality. I remember DVDs were a lot more like that when I was younger. The good ole days... I also liked the menus. Not cheesy like many other DVDs. Beautiful animation as well. If you guys want I could probably upload a pic of the receipt.

It wasn't on a normal rack, it was just lying on top of a big circular case of other disney movies. (1) I looked all over the electronics section and trust me, I couldn't find the shelf it came from. Just it's existence there was an anomaly lol. (/1) ... 2) If you guys want I could probably upload a pic of the receipt. 1) Lol, if that was me, I'd probably be in there for the rest of the day just to see what else I could find. Once I see something that I like and probably will never have the opportunity to see or buy again I go all OCD on trying to find stuff. 2) You don't need to but that would be very cool if you did. Although you probably have had it in mind, please keep it as a keepsake inside the cover or inside the case (there should be some sort of clip it can slide behind; on mine there's a clip for the promotions and I use that)... that way you can always share this amazing story. I have a thing for receipts (kinda like my thing for movie stubs). There great overlooked souvenirs that don't cost anything more than the original purchase; there's sorta free in that regard. I also had no idea how it was freakin' possible but, there it was! so, of course I had to grab it, even though I already have one!( I don't have a spending problem,........ok...fine......i do.) I'm a horrible spender since I have very bad buyer's remorse but if I know I will regret not buying it then I will almost always buy it. - man, I really should go shopping more often

Thanks a lot. Mine cost almost 30 - but worth every penny. As for BatB, consider that they are removing the DVDs a month after moratorium; now consider that you got TLM well over 3 years after! Even if it was an oversight by staff, consider that nobody else had purchased it in all that time. - Actually, now that I think about it, I feel something similar when I go see a Disney movie in theatres about a month after the release date. After I find that was the last week they were showing it I get all grateful that I went to see it.

It literally fell through the cracks. This should become a treasure, to cherish and safeguard for the future.
