This is not THE first time LEGO has done LM About ten years ago a set was made based on the fact that Hans Christan Anderson was from Denmark as a generac fairy tale not Disney I believe a Snow Queen was made as well these were available only in Europe

Had to go through all the crap to find this so here goes Lego is a company in Denmark the home of Hans Christan Anderson who wrote the Little Mermaid and many others In 1997 or so Lego began to license products notably w Star Wars as the years went on the products gt more diversified In early 2000 Lego put out a precursor to the friends line Belevile intended for girls only an off shot of the line was The Hans Christan Anderson line Five sets based on his fairy tales were available Little Mermaid The Tinderbox Snow Queen Thumbelina and the Princess and the Pea Though available primarily in Europe some sets did get to the USA I saw them at the store chain Tuesday Morning which sells close outs of canceled products and toy lines (At some time the Lego products may just be sold there in a year) At some point teh LEGO site had the sets on it including its take on the story 9also happier ending) I used to have a print out somewhere Her are pics will take a few tries Incidently do search for site called brickfactory this site lists ALL Lego sets made since the late fifties including instruction sheetsthe sets shown so you can get better veiws The site is updated so by Spring the instructions for the new ones Also try E bay over seas for sets And by the way Disney sets were made by Lego last decade only in Europe Again check the brick factory site after 2001
