I actually really liked the video and thought it was really well done! It's framed in a way that people would click on it expecting the Disney movie to be "exposed", but it actually provides a really in-depth synopsis to the original Hans Christian Andersen story. And here I was thinking I had read the full original story, this video revealed a couple tiny details from the original that I had never heard before, really cool! Video here:

I have memories of when I was three amongthe old condo was the railroad seeing a freight train for the first time (Had a caboose and that is REALLY an old thing)
My first Mermaid memory was the 1974 televised Readers Digest Little Mermaid cartoon narrated by Richard Chamberlin an adaptation closer to the original Anderson story it was made in Canada and is on you tube
Parties for me were ALOT simpler back as well it was probably the materialism of the eighties that changed that
Wondering where everyone was here on this site
Was hoping to go down to Disneyworld in May BUT in addition to finances just can not do it
Also check your juice isles The Little Mermaid Apple Juice is back on shelves (I have two)

I am intentionally trying to forget reading the original story because it was so depressing. That's why I don't want to view the video.
I didn't even know it had a fairytale origin at first, I thought Little Mermaid was a Disney Original concept. I wasn't aware of the source material until much later.
I think "everyone" has responded in this thread with the exception of one other user, who is occasionally updating merchandise threads.
I can tell you I've personally approved 4-5 new members, but none of them have posted anything, so wondering why that is. I did change the security settings a bit to keep out the spammers, but as far as I can see, I haven't done anything that prevents new members posting messages.
