10 year ago today, The Little Mermaid the Musical opened at Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theater in New York City! I never got to see the show, and trust me 10 years ago I was wishing and begging to my parents SO HARD because it was my biggest dream at the time, but I do have some wonderful memories listening to the cast album. This show, and everyone involved in it, inspired me in a way I didn't know was possible! It helped me discover my voice and realize my true calling was in the world of musical theatre and singing! I became a huge fan of Sierra Boggess, who I had the pleasure of meeting at the stage door of School of Rock last summer after I saw her in it! A huge dream come true! (my smile does this annoying thing when I get overly excited, lol don't mind me!) Here's a picture of one of my most prized possessions that I bought a few years back - a signed opening night PlayBill program for The Little Mermaid the Broadway Musical from this day 10 years ago! If any of you have any memories from this show, or were lucky enough to see it for yourselves 10 years ago, please share in the thread! I'd love to hear 'em! ❤️

I remember 10 years ago I was in New York City, I stood right across the street of the Lunt-Fontanne Theater and saw The Little Mermaid's big poster. I was a school trip, so I didn't get to attend because we were on a schedule (we saw Wicked though!) but I'll never forget the feeling I felt when I saw it. As a Little Mermaid fan I knew I'd probably remember that moment for the rest of my life, and I did!
I ended up celebrating the moment by purchasing the soundtrack CD and a T-Shirt on a corner store. It was small, but it was the highlight of the trip!

Did you get a fan?
Disney handed out paper fans promoting all their shows then When I first saw them I thought it was masks pertaining to the Lion King

I’m late to the party but I was just thinking about this the other day around the anniversary of the movie—TLM was my first Broadway show. My aunt took me to see it not long before it closed for my birthday. I saw Drew Seeley and Chelsea Morgan Stock and they were great. I ended up stagedooring afterward, and I still have the picture of me and Drew. Also have a t-shirt and the doll. It was a great experience. I hope they revive it at some point. There are things they can do differently technically, but I think it was innovative for its time and didn’t deserve the bad rap.
But please for the love of Poseidon never give Eric a ponytail again 😂

I do!
Gosh I would have loved to have seen that. I’m so happy that Halle is playing Ariel—I’m Black and Ariel was always my favorite, so I’m so glad that little kids get to see themselves represented on screen now.
I’m really hoping they decide to do a revival at some point.

fathomsbelow a revival would be AMAZING! A Beauty and the Beast revival is already in the works, who's to say they won't do it with The Little Mermaid? I might have to make a separate board for dreamcasting this 😍...

Oh wow I forgot about the Beauty and the Beast revival! I’d love to see your dreamcasting ideas! I kind of really want Graham Phillips to play Eric on Broadway since he’s said he’d like to do more shows.
