Fans now know when Disney's live-action remake of The Little Mermaid will be available on digital, Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD.
The House of Mouse continued its endeavor of remaking its animated classics in live-action with this summer's The Little Mermaid, packed with an all-star cast of Halle Berry, Melissa McCarthy, and more, with Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda assisting on the music and as producer.
2023's Little Mermaid departed from the 1989 animated original in some ways, including changing up the iconic "Part of Your World" and fixing one romantic issue in the classic movie.
The Little Mermaid's Home Release Details Announced

When Will The Little Mermaid Release on Disney+? Although Disney has yet to confirm a Disney+ release date for The Little Mermaid, fans can likely expect it to come at least several weeks after the digital release
The wait for The Little Mermaid's digital release falls around the norm for Disney's latest, dropping just 60 days after it came to theaters - around the same as Marvel Studio's Ant-Man 3 and Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
That being said, the physical release does come an above-average 116 days after The Little Mermaid's theatrical release - a far longer wait than Ant-Man 3 and Guardians 3's 88-day window.
Based on Disney's recent pattern of dropping its theatrical releases onto Disney+ around 90 days after they debuted, The Little Mermaid will likely make its way to the streamer around Wednesday, August 21.
Then again, Disney has recently been making major changes to its home release strategy, as proven by the unprecedented wait for Avatar: The Way of Water. So fans will have to wait for official word from the House of Mouse to know for sure.
The Little Mermaid will release for digital purchase on Tuesday, July 25.

The Little Mermaid: Disney Plus Streaming, Digital, and Blu-Ray Release Date Revealed
The Little Mermaid live action remake has broken the record for the longest live-action remake/adaptation from the studio. The underwater adventure is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes or 135 minutes long. The 1989 original film was only 83 minutes long. Unfortunately that is the only record the film broke. The reboot stars Halle Bailey as Ariel, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, Awkwafina as Scuttle, Melissa McCarthy as the evil Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and more. There was a lot of controversy and chatter regarding the film because of the lead actress’ ethnicity and the overall lackluster Disney remakes which genuinely feel like cash grabs. However, after the release of film both these concerns were put to bay as there were so many bigger problems with the film and the film didn’t make any cash so how can you call it a cash grab? If you happen to have missed the film in theatres then now you have a chance to watch it online.
The Little Mermaid Reboot Will Be Available Online This Month!
Fandango revealed that The Little Mermaid reboot will be available for digital purchase in the US from Tuesday, July 25th with the distributing platforms including Amazon, Apple, Vudu, and Google. The reboot will later release in physical formats of Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on Tuesday, September 19. The report also stated the massive number of bonus features we will get along:

As for its Disney Plus streaming release date, we expect that to take place alongside its digital release which is approximately 60 days theatrical window. Although, Avatar 2 was released on streaming much later from its digital release, that will not be the case with Little Mermaid. Even if it doesn’t come out on 25th July, it will surely come out well before mid-August.

Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid debuted at No. 1 on the Circana VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc chart the week ended Sept. 23.
A remake of the 1989 animated classic, The Little Mermaid earned $298 million at the domestic box office. HD formats accounted for 54% of the title’s first-week sales, with 36% from regular Blu-ray and 18% from the film’s 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray editions, which were available exclusively from Best Buy, Walmart and the Disney Movie Club.
The top seller the previous two weeks, Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, slipped to No. 2 on both charts in its third week, selling about 72% as many copies as the new top seller. The two-movie “Spider-Verse” collection was No. 14 with another 14%.
No. 3 overall, and No. 5 on the Blu-ray chart, was Universal Pictures’ Fast X, with 33% as many unit sales in its seventh week as the newly released top title.
No. 4 on both charts was Lionsgate’s John Wick: Chapter 4 in its 15th week.
The No. 5 overall seller was Warner’s 1973 horror classic The Exorcist, which was re-released in a new 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray edition, which accounted for nearly 87% of its unit sales for the week (regular Blu-ray accounted for another 1%). The Exorcist was No. 3 on the dedicated Blu-ray chart, and No. 1 on the 4K sales chart.
Across the Spider-Verse was the No. 2 4K seller, with Little Mermaid at No. 3.

MOVIEPLAYER.IT 4.5/5

Source: www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=33331Blu-ray Sales: September 17-23: Little Mermaid Just Beats Across the Spider-Verse Posted September 29, 2023 08:02 PM by Sean Greenwood
Blu-ray MoviesFor the week that ended on September 23rd, Walt Disney Home Entertainment's The Little Mermaid (2023) topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its debut. The latest live-action remake of a Disney animated classic opened over the Memorial Day weekend in May to mixed reviews, and while it has grossed over $569 million globally so far, the international box office take has been a disappointing $271 million, with the film having a reported budget of about $250 million. This week, The Little Mermaid had an HD share of 54%, with 18% of units sold from the 4K UHD format. Note that while the Blu-ray was a wide release available at all retailers, the film's 4K UHD releases were retailer exclusives for Disney Movie Club, along with a Best Buy Exclusive SteelBook and Walmart Exclusive with Enamel Pin.
Dropping to second place on both charts in its third week is Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse finds Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy traveling across the multiverse and meeting the Spider-Society, and it began development even before the first film was released and became a breakout hit back in 2018. Like its predecessor, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was both a critical and commercial success, earning positive reviews from both critics and audiences and grossing over $381 million domestically and $689 million worldwide, so far. This week, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse sold 99.79% as many Blu-ray units as The Little Mermaid, with an HD share of 75% and 26% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's The Exorcist, which was released on 4K UHD this week to celebrate the film's 50th anniversary. The 4K UHD release included both the theatrical version and the extended director's cut, with Dolby Atmos audio as well as the original DTS-HD MA 2.0 Mono audio on the theatrical version. In addition to standard packaging, a Best Buy Exclusive SteelBook was also made available. However, since Blu-ray discs were not included in either version, most of the video extras from previous editions were not included. This week, The Exorcist sold 47% as many Blu-ray units as The Little Mermaid, with an HD share of 88% and 87% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Elsewhere on the charts, Lionsgate Home Entertainment's Past Lives debuted at No. 9 on the Blu-ray-only chart and Sony's The Last Dragon, which was released on 4K UHD this week, came in at No. 10. Outside the top ten, Liongate's Fall (2022), which also got a 4K UHD release this week, came in at No. 12 and The Trial (1962), which was released on Blu-ray and 4K UHD by the Criterion Collection, came in at No. 17.
