It really bothers me to see Ariel celebrating Christmas in all the Princess things for Christmas and before the line the were other Little Mermaid stuff with Ariel celebrating Chrismtas, she has no religion, she a mermaid, she lives in the ocean,it's also bothers me other Disney character and Princesses celebrate Christmas, first of all why a religion? Disney is for everyone and why Princesses like Jasmine (Who's Muslim),Pocahontas (Who's Native American),Mulan (Who's Chinese ) and Ariel celebrate Christmas? (Thought in the Princess Christmas Album Aurora,Cinderella,Snow White,Ariel and Belle sings about actually celelbrating Christmas,Jasmine only sings in Christmas Is Coming and 12 Days Of Christmas with the other Princesses and never saying Christmas and Pocahontas and Mulan sings about winter). Anyway what do you think?.

I think Ariel is more interested in the idea of good will toward others than the religious aspects of Christmas. Many people who aren't religious celebrate the holiday anyway. I think Christmas is open to everyone, whether they look at it as the birth of Christ or just an opportunity to spend time with loved ones and spread good cheer.
I would find it more strange if Ariel didn't want to celebrate Christmas, seeing how much she cares about peace and harmony.

I see your point but still,it's the birth of Christianity, almost every holiday is about being together, isn't it?. She can celebrate, let's say,Muslim or Jewish holidays too but she doesn't. In the Disney Princess-Christmas Of Enchantment DVD there's a story about her finding about Christmas (She calls it Chrisymas) and there she doesn't know about religion, she thinks that all humans celebrate it. I guess it's more about being togehter then that she likes then Christianity but it's like she got "tricked" into celebrating it. And also Disney is magical so religion is kinda ruining.

I'm sure if there was a Muslim or Jewish holiday that was as globally popular as Christmas and had a similar sentiment, she would celebrate it. I think the fact that Christmas is originally a Christian thing is pretty much irrelevent. I don't see how she's being "tricked" into anything. She celebrates it in her own way.

Well, she whould. She's "tricked" because like in that story, she doesn't know about religion and that not everyone celebrate it,she thinks that every human celebrate Christmas. It's also bothers me how for exmaple Jasmine who's Muslim,Pocahontas who's Native American and Mulan who's Chinese celebrate Christmas.

Well, I think it was possible that she converted to the christian faith. I mean, not just possible, but very darn likely that she did convert, considering how she attended a christian wedding among other things (I won't say "Catholic", as it wasn't one due to it being on a ship, which if it were a wedding of my faith, she would be at a cathedral/church instead of a ship. She's at least a protestant.).
Actually, how would Ariel not know what christianity is? I mean, she was wedded by a bishop, for goodness sakes!
I do get your feeling of confusion towards Jasmine, Pocahontas (Though it may be possible that she converted to christianity due to the sequel having her go to england and all that [assuming that it follows history accurately like the sequel did], and Mulan, though.
...though Jasmine's wedding, at least according to TVtropes, resembled a roman catholic wedding, despite it being a muslim country.
I kinda agree with Random Prince for the most part though. I mean, Ron Stoppable hinted that he celebrated Christmas in the episode "Crush" (The whole Z-boy thing), and yet it's revealed in a later episode that he's actually Jewish.

I understand what you're saying and I can see why it would bother you. Personally, I just take religion out of the equation when it comes to Disney Christmas stuff. Just out of interest, where did you find out about Pocahontas or Mulan celebrating Christmas? I can't think of anything, but I'm not really a fan of the Princesses.

I never thought about that before! Maybe Ariel is a Christian after all. I think Jodi would be happy about that.

And also Disney is magical so religion is kinda ruining. IMO Disney itself is a religion so it can do what ever it wants.

I agree with Prince of Bubbles and everyone else. Arie lcan celebrate Christmas I don't know why people would care. I think she should. Christmas is open to everyone. Christmas is about being together and the born of Christ. Its a beatiful hoilday.

Well just to jump in I do believe Ariel does believe in Christmas and can celebrate it I mean Jodi probably has to have a say in this she's been with Ariel since the beginning and still stays with her which is really cool. Also Christmas is a Christian holiday people have taken away the real meaning of Christmas it's all about the birth of my lord and savoir Jesus Christ it's truly a wonderful holiday. Also the other princesses probably celebrate it because lets face it Disney does it for the money they go with the most popular holiday around this time the one that will sell more so since a lot of people celebrate Christmas whether for Christ or not they celebrate it what you do you guys think?

I agree to. I love the meaning of God. I know people do take away the real meaning of Christmas. But I think so too with Ariel The Little Mermaid. Disney does do it for the money.

Those of you who like the idea of Ariel celebrating Christmas might want to check out Ariel's Christmas Under the Sea. You can listen to the story here.
