How would you have handled TLM differently?

I PROBABLY would have changed a bit of the animation. Ariel's face and mouth movements in POYWR really, really creep me out, haha.

I also would have liked to have had Ariel and Ursula SWITCH voices when Ursula became Vanessa.

And also, I would have made Poor Unfortunate Souls a villainous version of 'POYW'.

I really don't know about this it is such a hard question I think TLM is perfect the way it is but prehaps I would include Ariel's Grandmother in the movie like in the Original Fairy Tale

That's a very good idea - and I agree very much with the fact that it is basically perfect the way it is.

I wouldnt change anything, i love everything about TLM the way it is, if it was different it wouldnt be the movie we are love today!!!!

I probably wouldn't change anything about what's already in the movie. Something I always wanted to explore on though is what Ariel did on the last day. I mean, there had to have been a huge chunk of time between when she found out Eric was getting married up until sunset. I wonder if she would try to avoid everyone or would be forced to help prepare for this wedding... stuff like that. But still, I like the transition between the two as it is so I would probably leave it alone.

I would like to know more about Ariels mom -> that would I put in the beegening of the film,you know,something like happy family portret. Mom holding little baby ariel,Triton on the side of his wife,proudly huging them and her sisters all over the place trying to see their new little sister... Really,what is Ariels mom name?

I probably wouldn't alter too much of it as it is, but I would most like mess around with a lot of ideas. I'd probably make Eric do some stuff, because he doesn't do much. Honestly, he has nothing going for him except good looks, or, from Ariel's point of view, a pair of legs.

I might have made Flotsam and Jetsam a tad more prominent as well, because they actually never did too much either. I definitely would have given Vanessa a much more prominent role as she is the coolest Disney character ever and deserved more. On that subject I like the idea of seeing what Ariel did for the rest of the day. There could be a thing of what she does and what Vanessa does maybe...

I agree on this one. I always wonder what happed during the bit from the morning where Ariel finds Eric with Vanessa til they leave the habour... What Vanessa did. Did she spy on Ariel..? Did Ariel spy on Vanessa..? And what about Sebastian..? But all in all, Vanessa should have been in more scenes! Like when she's on the wedding boat, singing her song. We should have seen Eric introduce Vanessa to the rest of the people, a little like Jasmine introduces Aladdin in the first Aladdin film.

The main thing I would have been curious about is Ariel's mother. I can't believe she was never shown or mentioned at all..........

Like everyone else, I wouldn't want anything changed (as if the film in MY hands would've amounted to the beautiful masterpiece that resulted from the Disney company, lol), but maybe just a bit more elaboration on certain characters like people have suggested, such as Ariel's mother (and I'd love to see more of her sisters!) and Eric (he does get lots more screen time than the average prince and I adore what we did see of him but he never got a song and we never found out about his family :().

I mean..they work incredibly well in the animation, but they really bug me thinking how they would be in real life >.< but it does look better than doing it Peter Pan style, i guess.
I personally loved the dramatic switch from morning to sunset, it kept you on the edge of your seat. I would have added in more bits of Eric, especially what he did around the kingdom without ariel (I can really picture him riding a horse or something while talking to grimsby about his liking ariel).

If Only would have been perfect..it's the POYW of the broadway show I think 'She's In Love' would be fun to see animated

The only thing I would change would be to actually animate Eric's mouth saying "No, I won't leave you" at the end of the movie before Ursula comes up through the water. That goof always upset me so bad!

I whould change the ending and make Ariel kill Ursula insted of Eric.

I would make Ariel defeat ursula all by herself. I would also show more tomboy in Ariel.

You hurt me! JK. Those hip fins are a design unique to Disney's version of mermaids. They are an Ariel trademark. They are so cool, a great way to think of connecting the fish and human halves!

In real life, I guess, they just haven't figured out the best way to make them look good, yet, though I'd say they have, especially for statues and stuff. Although it seems no one ever makes them transparent, like they should be.

Anyway, as for what I would do to the movie? Probably make the animation and backgrounds a little better. Just work on them as if they had a little more time, and keep Ariel on-model!

And yes, I suppose it would be even better if Ariel could do more in conjunction with Eric to defeat Ursula, together. But I really like Ursula's "so much for true love!" line. One of the best parts of the movie.

For me The Little Mermaid is beautiful as it is. If I had to change anything I would add "Her Voice" to the movie. It is such a lovely song and it would have fitted well in the film; plus Eric would have had more screen time.

i love the movie just the way it was because after all we love it but i would have changed a few things like instead of 3 days make it like a whole week she has to make eric fall in love with her..and like in the original fairytale ariels grandmother and her grandmother would have talked a little about ariel mom
