My random query of the day: How come it's never addressed what kind of diet the ocean creatures have? Most species that live in the ocean are carnivorous. Yet, in the show we see them consuming stuff like seaweed pizzas and so on. Personally, as far as I'm aware, only 20 species of piranha and royal blue tangs are vegetarian.

I think anyone in the ocean are skinny. There's nothing to eat and you swim the whole day, after Ariel got merried i think she got less skinny.

(mainly because of the decoy mermaid dummies ariel and arista made, i always wanted one:p) wow i totally forgot about that great episode..arista is my 2nd fav sister after adella.

Yeah, I've always thought it was weird that they had things that were "similar" to the surface world. I imagine that sealife would have a different culture to that on land. Seaweed is okay, but seaweed pizzas? If I had been making the decisions, I would have gone for salads and stuff like that. I imagine there's lots of plants in the ocean to dine on. Arista's my favorite sister, second to none!

What's with the lobster hate? I actually liked the Lobster and the Shrimp, I think they were funny I picked the Sea Cyclops. Now he was just lame, even though the animation on him was good. He wasn't the least bit original!

Sea Cyclop - I don't thik he should be called a villain, for he is just an unintelligent moster. He was okay, though. The Evil Manta - when I first saw him, his design in some way reminded me of characters of superhero comics (which I don't like), but... he was really not as bad as he looked! And the episodes In Harmony and A Little Evil are both among my favourites The Lobster Mobster and Da Shrimp - they were annoying, definitely. But not TOO bad. Glowfish and Sorcerer - undoubtedly BEST original villains in the series Emperor Sharga and the Sharkanians - I don't like them. Their race don't fit into TLM world as well as octopians, moray or manta people. And they eat Sebastian's relatives indeed >_< Dr. Viles - that episode was, I think, the most pathetic of all 31. The idea to mix TLM and old horror films is stupid. So, I vote against him. Flow and Ebb - I can't get how they could breath under the sea for hours. They're freshwater reptiles btw. And thus they look odd in Atlantica. (Though... Spot the whale - for he was the whale - needed air to breath too... so he couldn't live in Ariel's room for three month without going out) Blue and Purple Sorcerer Blowfishes - they were okay. And rather funny

I think, in Atlantica they're intelligent and sociallized fishes and invretebrates, not just random critters from the deep. So, their diet should differ very much from what a common fish eat. It's like the difference between our diet and diet of wild tribes in Africa who eat monkeys and rats. In one episode (I don't remember which) we see a table full with dishes with a lot of stuff looking like bread and sea fruits (which could be fruits of sea plants unknown by land people and maybe artificially breeded by merfolk).

Hmm,The Evil Manta reminds me of Charnbog from Fantasia. And i agree about mixing The Little mermaid with horror films, that episode was really stupid. And abou the Sharkanians, what are they anyway? mutent sharks?.

Hmm,The Evil Manta reminds me of Charnbog from Fantasia. Yes, they look similar indeed. Maybe the Evil Manta's appearance was actually based on Chernabog? (like the dragon's in Heroes episode based on Maleficent) But when I said "reminded", I meant that the character with such an appearance - when I first saw an image of him - seemed not to fit style of original TLM characters.

WOW, Daniel I never noticed the whole dolphin pulled chariot on the bottom of the ocean thing. Haha, Disney is bad with logic which is kinda ironic since all the movies are fantasy >.>
And all my friends are like what does Ariel eat and when I explain to them seaweed dogs and seaweed pizza and seaweed pasta and seaweed taco's they look at me funny...

And abou the Sharkanians, what are they anyway? mutant sharks?. They have the head of sharks, a strong torso like that of a human, although differently colored and a shark's tail.

The Lobster Mobster was by far not only the lamest villain in the series but the most annoying. I was glad when he stopped appearing on the show. True it gave Ariel and her friends something to do but let's face it, it's not much fun to defeat a villain when he/she defeats themselves most of the time.

I've got to go with everybody and agree that the Lobster Mobster and da shrimp were the lamest just because how fear-inducing is a bubble gun? And really, how scary is a villain that you could dispose of with the flick of a tail?
But I've got to say those stupid rhyming sorcerer blowfish were really getting on my nerves...

Aw amI the only one who enjoyed Lobster Mobster and Da Shrimp? :( True, they weren't scary, but a "villain" doesn't have to be the most frightening..afterall, there's only so much good a little mermaid can do to a sea full of hate I thought they were fun, especially BECAUSE they always defeated themselves

I think I've gone on record as sayong that they amused me far more than they should have. I blame it on "Whale of a Tale" being the only official tape I have of the series, which means I've seen "Urchin" a lot.
