Haha, I know there was a movie Atlantis, but I'm trying to make a point of all the animated Disney movies released in the past 20 years this has to be the most forgettable one of all. I actually completely forgot about it until I saw it listed in this boards description. I saw this movie in theaters when it came out. I think I was probably 14. Thats the last time I saw it. I don't remember anything about it at all. I don't plan on seeing it again. What a waste of money on making that. What do you all think?

You could say it is a forgettable movie, but I don't think it's bad. Sure, it's not The Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast, but it is an intresting movie when you want something really serious. That's really all I can say because it doesn't have many merits. lol.

I haven't seen Atlantis and I'm not planning on watching it any time soon. Atlantis questions always come up when we play Disney Trivial Pursuit and it looks bad.

I saw Atlantis for the first time during character design last semester. It was alright for what it was but it's not the most memorable Disney film, that's for sure.

There's so much Atlantis hate out there, I just don't get it xP I don't think it's an amazing movie, but it is good! Sure it's different, especially visually, but I think it's a nice action/adventure movie. Better than The Mouse Detective and The Rescuers, I'd say... And I get the same about Treasure Planet! Again, not a great movie, but it has a lot of heart to it. And it is very creative!

I personally didnt like Atlantis. It wasnt engaging at all and i think i fell asleep in the middle of it and woke up when the credits were rolling. Has to be one of Disney's worst movies.

I seen both Atlantis and Treasure Planet at the cinemas when they came out, and I'm not a big fan of either of them really. Though I think Atlantis is ok and wouldn't mind watching again, I do have that and Atlantis II: Milo's Return on video somewhere, but I cn't even remember what happens in the sequel. From what I do remember it was bad

I liked it rather much, actually. I loved the voice of Micheal J. Fox as the main character and I always pretended to be Kida (I think it is) when I was little during the scene where she goes down in the water and the spinning rock take her up with her little glowing necklace. It fascinated me. I also liked Treasure Planet, although I haven't seen it in a while.

Treasure Planet is great. i really loved it and i think it s a real shame it s not too popular :( Atlantis wasn' t too bad either. i only saw it once but i liked the animation style. Kida is gorgeous and so is Helga. however the story lacked that.. something

Haha, I remember seeing Atlantis in theaters with my summer camp I loved it when it came out but yeah, I completely forgot about it until I found it on my shelf a few months ago and watched it again(not to mention forgetting it again after that until seeing this thread). The animation was good and the characters were fun but it wasn't anywhere near classic material. It's pretty much one of those one time only deals. I think I liked it so much because it had to do with a supposedly underwater kingdom..come to find out it's hiden under ground underwater... i.e. no mermaids...not what I had hoped.

Aww, I really like Atlantis! It definitely didn't have the same Disney magic as its predecessors, but I thought it had a memorable hero. He's adorkable, and almost as adorable as the other Disney princes.
I haven't seen the movie recently, so I don't know what could've made it better. I think it might have been a lack of "spark" to Atlantis, because the kingdom doesn't stick out to me like it should. I barely remember any of the architecture or any scenes. -shrug- All I remember is Milo and a few of his adventures.
Treasure Planet was so much better--visually, it's as good (almost better) than the Disney Renaissance. It was a little lacking script-wise, but I loved the characters and the story. If I had connected with the characters just a little bit more, I think Treasure Planet could've been classic material. It comes so close, but it just falls short of the mark.

I haven't seen the movie in a long time. I don't remember my reaction to the movie. How come it did not do well in theaters?

I don't believe I've ever seen Treasure Planet the whole way through, but I've heard so many people say that it's such an underrated Disney film. Hopefully I can remember to rent it someday! Atlantis, however, I have seen, and I really liked it! I liked the characters, and the storyline, the animation... I remember my favorite character was the one obsessed with explosives, I forget his name... but he was so funny! And I think Kida was a very strong female lead, different than a lot of the other Disney girls I think in multiple ways, making her very interesting. The only thing I realized watching it semi recently is it does kind of feel like it starts to drag toward the end. And the villains, I forget the male one, but I think the female was Helga, for some reason irritated me. I know they're villains, but normally Disney villains are likeable in weird ways, or at least interesting or funny.
