Has anyone here ever played either of the Kingdom Hearts games? Just wondering, because IMO, it basically helped revive Disney, in a way, and they are very good games. Great blend of RPG elements, and Disney. I can't wait for the 3rd one.

Yeah, you also would've found out if you beat the 2nd game on Expert mode, which I did lol... If you did, at the end of the game, it gives you a trailer of the third one, which looks completely different than the other ones. I really hope they don't change it, and screw it up. ariel101, how were they hard? Just curious. Kingdom Hearts II was even easier than the 1st one lol..

Well I was like 8 or something when I played them so the first one was confusing. But the second one of gameboy was easy.

I personally don't like the one on GBA, basically for the fact that they changed the gameplay from the first one. One question: why??

Kingdom Hearts = best video game idea ever. It's Disney combined with a rich plot, where you get to re-live the movies and be straight in the action. Now they just need Super Smash Bros: Disney Edition and my life will be complete
I think they wanted a change of gameplay because Kingdom Hearts I and II were basically button-mashing. Still, I hated the card system in GBA. I'd rather have a good story and simple heartless-smashing-button-mashing gameplay rather than have cards with a suffering story.
The re-make of Chain of Memories isn't as bad, though. I still don't like the card system, but it seems easier to handle.
The Little Mermaid world in the first Kingdom Hearts was really good--I've heard lots of complaints about the swimming system, but I never minded. Who wouldn't want to fight the twenty-foot-tall Ursula with Ariel on your side?
They ruined it in the second one, though. Gaaaah, the first song made my ears bleed! I had to turn the mute button on the first time I played it. I was so disappointed, but it was funny to see Sora and Ariel dance. Eric's a suberb throw--what man, even a sailor, can chuck a heavy trident that far away and have it shoot straight through a massive cecaelia? I was re-watching that cutscene on YouTube, and it was all I could think about. That and how Eric barely flinches when Ursula tosses the trident inches away from his feet.
They're making a third Kingdom Hearts? As long as they don't make the same mistake with Atlantica as they did in Kingdom Hearts II...

I love Kingdom Hearts <3 ! I completed both and unlocked the secret ending of the first KH, but I'm still working on KH2's secret ending. I can't wait for KH3! I have Re:Chain of Memories for PS2, it's kinda fun, but I think it's harder. I hate the cards . Why can't I just bash Heartless by pressing X? Anyway, I prefer Atlantica in the first KH to Atlantica in KH2, but I thought it was cute when Sora and Ariel sang and danced. I hated "Swim this Way", too. I think that instead of "A New Day is Dawning", they should have done "Part of Your World"--the final reprise at Ariel's wedding. But I love the fact they put Eric in KH2 I think they're making another KH game that takes place 10 years before the original before KH3 comes out--it's called Birth By Sleep. I believe it's about how Maleficent captured the Seven Princesses of Heart. It sounds intriguing to me.

Kingdom Hearts = best video game idea ever. It's Disney combined with a rich plot, where you get to re-live the movies and be straight in the action. Now they just need Super Smash Bros: Disney Edition and my life will be completeI agree, and SSB: Disney sounds like a really fun idea. I'll pick Ariel, and dive into the water. I win lol.., but it sounds like a fun idea. I think they wanted a change of gameplay because Kingdom Hearts I and II were basically button-mashing. Still, I hated the card system in GBA. I'd rather have a good story and simple heartless-smashing-button-mashing gameplay rather than have cards with a suffering story. Well, here's the saying I always use, 'if it aint broke, don't fix it.' The system in KH1 worked really well, combined with the RPG elements. I don't think KH1 was that much button-mashing, because it had some strategy involved, specifically for the Boss fight. Now, KH2 was definately button-mash city, no doubt about it. To me, the card system made no sense, and I didn't even understand it. I need a card to attack? What? The re-make of Chain of Memories isn't as bad, though. I still don't like the card system, but it seems easier to handle. Is that the one they remade for PS2? Is it worth buying, I mean, outside of the bad card system? The Little Mermaid world in the first Kingdom Hearts was really good--I've heard lots of complaints about the swimming system, but I never minded. Who wouldn't want to fight the twenty-foot-tall Ursula with Ariel on your side? I didn't think swimming was hard, Button for up, and a button to go down. What's so hard about that? They ruined it in the second one, though. Gaaaah, the first song made my ears bleed! I had to turn the mute button on the first time I played it. I was so disappointed, but it was funny to see Sora and Ariel dance. Eric's a suberb throw--what man, even a sailor, can chuck a heavy trident that far away and have it shoot straight through a massive cecaelia? I was re-watching that cutscene on YouTube, and it was all I could think about. That and how Eric barely flinches when Ursula tosses the trident inches away from his feet. I agree, I wished they would've made it more playable, rather than just singing. Some of the singing was okay, and I remember one was challegning for me when I first did it, so if it's hard, it gets a thumbs up from me. However, I was wondering, it sounds like in KH2 is when the actual first movie plot began, so was KH1 supposed to be the TV series? That confused me. It could've been worse, TLM could've just not been there at all. That would've made me They're making a third Kingdom Hearts? As long as they don't make the same mistake with Atlantica as they did in Kingdom Hearts II... Yep, at the end of KH2 (if you beat it on Expert), you get a trailer for the third one. So far, IMO, it doesn't look like Kingdom Hearts. As long as it has the popular Disney worlds (especially TLM), then I don't really care. fathomsbelow, if you ever need help with KH2, let me know, I basically got everything in that game, including leveling to 99.

Ohmygosh! Kingdom Hearts is most definitely my favorite video game! I can't decide whether I prefer the second or the first... but I think I may be leaning a little more toward the first. The bosses in the second, IMO, were way too easy, and the worlds went too fast. Plus, every time you entered a room there was a little movie clip. I'm like, "yes I understand I entered a new room. I don't need a little clip explaining every detail to me." haha!
Anyway, I loved the games! I can never decide on what my favorite world is. But in the first one, Atlantica was SO much fun! Ursula was pretty hard to beat, and that shark that would NOT die, was extremely irritating! Halloween Town was wicked awesome as well. Oogie Boogie was pretty tough too. I think all of the battles in the first were hard actually. Except Captain Hook, he was pretty easy since you could just fly around him and stuff. haha!
I think the whole story is just so original and creative! The whole heartless thing, then the nobodies with the second game. LOVE it! If you can't tell, I am very passionate about this game. ;] But it is really cool. I definitely recommend it to anybody who has never played it. Especially if you like Disney. I think it's so great to be able to battle side by side with characters like Ariel, Beast, Jack, Tarzan... etc. Plus being able to enter all of those worlds and get into the whole story. Total awesomeness IMO.

I'll sum up both games for everyone:
KH1 = hard KH2 = not hard
KH1 = not much button mashing KH2 = complete button mashing
KH1 = Playable TLM world KH2 = very little playable TLM world
That's pretty much it lol.., of course, for cool factor alone, KH2 is cooler, but I like the first one, because it basically was the very first one.

I believe it's about how Maleficent captured the Seven Princesses of Heart. It sounds intriguing to me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Ariel not a princess of heart? If she wasn't, does that mean she'll have less of a role in this game? Oh, I hope not! It's really hard to say whether the remake of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is worth buying. So far (I'm just on Atlantica, and I saved that world card for last) it's basically the first game with some of the world plots flexed a bit. Ariel's doing something extremely reckless right now, so much so that I was surprised when I saw her. I'm sure it has something to do with her becoming human or something, but I'm not far along enough to see how they worked the Little Mermaid plot. You can always watch the cutscenes on YouTube or something. Most of the plot is really interesting so far. I gave up on the GBA version of CoM, so it might just be that plot re-hashed...I dunno. Grr, why can't they scrap the cards and give me old-fashioned X-smashing keyblades?

I don't think Ariel was a Princess of Heart, because she never got captured. I'll look it up though, in case I'm wrong, I haven't played the first one in a long while.
In the remake, is the card system better than the GBA one, because the GBA was just utter nonsense. It also sounds like it has the first ones graphics, and maybe some cool cutscenes?

No Ariel wasn't because I remeber when I played it I saw all the princess in a glass case sleeping and I was like weres Ariel till I figures it out. Thats why you play Ariel in the frist one cause she is not captured. But if she was captured you wouldn't play Ariel. Thats why you couldn't play Alice in Alice in Wonderland cause she is captured.

My best friend beat Chain of Memories. I'm jealous. I just finished Atlantica, and I'm stuck. You can see how bad I am at video games sometimes. XD
They should give Ariel a decent role in the third Kingdom Hearts, anyway, considering TLM was so popular with Disney. -crosses fins, paws, and fingers-

Ariel has a strong role IMO. In the first one she is the character from her world that you can have help you fight, and is in fact the only girl that has that role in KHI.
In KH2 Atlantica is a min-game world but Ariel gets a nice share of screentime.
In Chain of Memories (and Re Chain of Memories) There's a neat plot for Atlantica there too.
