This may sound odd, but I came across this script that Disney wrote. It was supposed to be a sequel to the First movie and its storyline is completely different from the TLM 2. In this script, Ariel and Eric's love are put to a test when Melody is born. Oh, there is a traveling magician who is the antagonist in the script; not Morgana or Ursula. Do you wish Disney did this story for a sequel to the TLM? Were there some parts in the script that you like or think that were unnecessary? I found this plot interesting but it was too-much of a heartache to read because Eric was acting like a jerk toward Ariel and Melody. He was acting like Beast or Robert Phillip! What's up with that? wontgetlost.com/SPf2.htm

I couldn't even get through half of it, it was awful. First of all Eric shouldn't sing, he shouldn't have sung in 'Return to the Sea' either.....that was weird. I stopped as soon as I read the part where they revealed that Melody was born with her fins.....that was even weirder. I like 'Return to the Sea' a lot better.

I know what you mean, Kissdgirl. It doesn't make sense as to why was Melody born with a tail fin despite having human parents. I didn't like the way Eric was portrayed in that story. They made him act like a jerk. I don't understand how is it that he was fine with Ariel's mermaid heritage but freaked out about Melody having a tail fin.
The only thing I like about the plot was that they had an original villian rather than an "Ursula-wannabe". A story about someone trying to use Ariel's mermaid heritage for fame sounded more interesting than Morgana trying to get revenge.

Well, guys, I guess we can now officially stop hating on Return to the Sea and now count our blessings of it. I mean, sure, it wasn't really the greatest film, and I did initially hate it (although not necessarily Melody), I've come to respect it, although I still have the bad memories about it at the same level as it were before. It may not have been the greatest, but it certainly wasn't the worst.
Actually, this script reminded me of how Guns of the Patriots was originally going to end with Solid Snake and Otacon turning themselves in for their crimes and executed, and how that ending was hated by the majority of the staff behind the game.
Although, about Melody being born with fins, that reminded me of this Myth book where it was stated that Mermaids who became human and lived in marriage with them occasionally have kids being born with webbed feet or something like that, and they became adept swimmers.

I still hate both. I mean, I still hate Return to the Sea, because of unoriginal plot and Morgana wasa rip-off version of Ursula. But yeah, I hate that Ariel's Melody script because Eric was being a jerk. In the first original movie, he accepted Ariel as a mermaid so why should having a daughter with fins be different?
I think it's best if none of those sequels happened. I'm better of daydreaming Ariel/Eric's marriage after the first movie.

I remember reading that script years and years ago, but I'm pretty sure it's fan-made. In fact, when it came out, I don't believe Disney had any intentions of making a third TLM movie. This is where I originally read it, littleariel.com/tlm3.htmAnd something I posted, too, an unbelievable SIX years ago!- At least I've learned to spell since then- "future", Keith, "future". And I've gained some taste, I mean, Ariel and Eric as grandparents.... Bleh.
