From Popsugar: Chloe x Halle's Instagram Concert Gave Us Little Mermaid Tea, Ethereal Vocals, and New Music 25 March 2020 by MEKISHANA PIERRE
It's no secret that Chloe and Halle Bailey are blessed with sensational pipes, but it's always a pleasure to witness their undeniable raw talent. The sisters joined the multitude of artists who've put on virtual concerts for their social distancing fans during the coronavirus pandemic, utilising their Beyoncé-blessed talents in collaboration with the World Health Organisation and Global Citizen's concert campaign Together, At Home: Who-Global Citizen Solidarity Sessions.
The R&B duo encouraged their fans to continue practicing social distancing to flatten the curve, acknowledging the trials and tribulations of staying at home. They performed a few fan-favourite hits, including "The Kids Are Alright," "Happy Without Me" and "Cool People," and also teased snippets of two new songs, "Do It," and "Catch Up" from their upcoming album Ungodly Hour. Disney fans probably felt their skin tingle with excitement when Halle, who celebrates her 20th birthday on March 27, casually mentioned that she had been rehearsing for The Little Mermaid in London before she headed back home to stay with her family.
"Everything has been so exciting and everything is so amazing out there," the future live-action Ariel said with a smile worthy of a Disney Princess. "Being out there with the cast and rehearsing every day, we've all become such family and it makes me so happy." Chloe revealed that she visited her sister during rehearsals and couldn't contain her happiness for her sister. Reader, to say their excitement has made me ten times more eager for the film is a severe understatement. Watch the sisters' Instagram concert above!

From ABC Radio News: From the Living Room: Chloe x Halle previews new music, Jussie Smollett covers Stevie Wonder
In light of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Chloe x Halle and Jussie Smollet have delivered acoustic performances straight from their living rooms.
The grown-ish duo gave a live performance on Instagram Live as part of Global Citizen's "Together at Home" concert series. Chloe x Halle started the performance with an acoustic version of "Hello Friend," "Cool People," and "Happy Without Me," from their debut album The Kids Are Alright.
Halle also talked about London rehearsals for her upcoming starring role in Disney's live-action The Little Mermaid, just before the girls revealed their upcoming album should be expected by late May/early June. The duo previewed two new singles: party vibes for "Catch Up," with Swae Lee, and the groovy "Do It," co-written by newcomer Victoria Monet.
You can enjoy the entire Instagram Live concert on YouTube.
Looks like Jussie Smollet is also enjoying his time at home. It's quarantine day 421 for the former Empire star or so it feels, as he learns to play songs on the piano like Stevie Wonder's "A Place in the Sun."
"Hope y’all are staying safe," Jussie says. "Spread love and kindness... not Rona."
Smollett has been on the quiet tip since his release from Empire last year, following his public battle with the city of Chicago over his alleged attack there in January, 2019. Prosecutors later declared he'd faked the attack and criminally charged him the following month. Those charges were later dropped, but following another investigation by a special prosecutor, Smollet was indicted again on various related charges last month.

From The Sun: SHOW STOPPER Haunting aerial pics show Little Mermaid and Jurassic World film sets frozen in time in Pinewood Studios lockdown Ellie Cambridge 28 Mar 2020, 9:45Updated: 28 Mar 2020, 10:56
HAUNTING aerial images show the film sets of The Little Mermaid and Jurassic World stopped mid-shoot amid the coronavirus lockdown.
The elaborate sets at Pinewood Studios look like they were abandoned as Boris Johnson announced Britain would shut down to stop the spread of the killer virus.

Filming stopped on some movies earlier this month, and it is likely the more severe restrictions announced last week saw all sets shut down.
A source told The Sun earlier in the month: "Filming just stopped today and everyone at Pinewood was sent home.
"Staff are being told the site will now be closed for 30 days starting from next Monday."
A spokesperson for Pinewood Studios said at the time: "Pinewood Group are continuing to follow guidance set out by the Government, and the studios remain fully operational."
Pinewood has been at the heart of the British movie business for 80 years, with Bond movie No Time To Die among the productions filmed on its legendary 007 stage.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, 2019's final chapter in the sci-fi hit's franchise, was also shot there in recent years.
Jurassic World: Dominion, which is scheduled for release next year, is being filmed at Pinewood as well as at locations in Canada and Hawaii.
It stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, alongside Jurassic Park originals Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill.
The Sun Online today attempted to contact Pinewood Studios.
Coronavirus has played havoc with many filming schedules, with streaming giant Netflix last week suspending all film and TV production.
The UK coronavirus death toll has risen to 759 after 181 more deaths were recorded in one day - meaning a Brit is dying every eight minutes.
On Friday, 168 more deaths were recorded in England along with eight deaths in Scotland, six deaths in Wales and three deaths in Northern Ireland.
The youngest person to die in England was just 29 years old - and four of the patients had no underlying health conditions.
Yesterday's death toll is the UK's biggest 24 hour increase so far - higher than Thursday's jump of 113.
It comes as both the Prime Minister and the Health Secretary test positive for the deadly bug.
Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty also said he was suffering symptoms, adding that he would self-isolate as a precaution.
A Downing Street spokesperson said: “After experiencing mild symptoms yesterday, the Prime Minister was tested for coronavirus on the personal advice of England’s Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty.
“The test was carried out in No 10 by NHS staff and the result of the test was positive. The Little Mermaid set with a boat in the middle has been leftThe famous studios have been shut down while the country is in lockdownFilming on many productions worldwide have stopped as the globe tries to beat the bugThe lots have been left while staff and stars stay away amid the crisisA huge boat has been left covered up as filming for the Little Mermaid appears to have stopped

Aerial photos reveal how coronavirus has left Jurassic World and Disney's The Little Mermaid movie sets shut down and void of life Big sets for the next Jurassic World and The Little Mermaid films at Pinewood Studios have been abandoned A large ship for the Disney remake starring Halle Bailey as mermaid Ariel is stranded in the middle of the lot Blue screens for Jurassic World: Dominion, starring Chris Pratt and Jess Goldblum, have been left behind Pinewood has been the base for many films and TV shows since the 1930s, and is famous as the 007 studio The release of Daniel Craig's last outing as Bond in No Time To Die has been delayed due to the coronavirus Coronavirus symptoms: what are they and should you see a doctor?

Stark aerial photos show elaborate film sets for Jurassic World and The Little Mermaid at Pinewood Studios in Uxbridge empty after Britain was plunged into the coronavirus lockdown this week.
Filming at the large film and TV studio stopped for some movies earlier this month as the pandemic crisis entered its early phase. Pinewood has halted filming for all productions, however.
A large ship for Disney's latest live-action film, starring Halle Bailey as the 16-year-old mermaid Ariel, is left stranded. The huge blue screens for the next Jurassic World film have also been left abandoned.
Both films will be delayed as the coronavirus pandemic continues to bring Western economies to a halt. The disease famously forced the postponement of No Time To Die, the latest Bond instalment.
Jurassic World: Dominion, which is still scheduled for release next year, is being filmed at Pinewood as well as at locations in Canada and Hawaii. It stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Jeff Goldblum.
The famous site, which has been the base for many productions since the 1930s and is most well-known as the home of the James Bond franchise, will be closed for an unspecified period of time.
Earlier in the month, insiders told The Sun newspaper it would be closed for around 30 days.
Pinewood, which has 16 stages including the 59,202 sq ft 007 Stage, also has two TV studios, both standing at 8,988 sq ft. The Walt Disney Studios announced a 10-year lease on most of the studios last September.

These eerie photographs come as the coronavirus pandemic disrupts life in the UK. Today, 260 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died in the biggest 24-hour spike to date.
Scottish Secretary Alister Jack is self-isolating after testing positive for the bug. Boris Johnson and Matt Hancock were struck down yesterday, and Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty also displayed flu-like symptoms.
Jurassic World and The Little Mermaid are just the latest film casualties in this pandemic, as Daniel Craig's last outing as 007 is postponed 'after careful consideration and thorough evaluation'.
Due to be released in April, a new release date has been set for November 12 in the UK, with worldwide dates to follow including the planned US launch on November 25.
News of the delay was announced via the film's official Twitter account.
The world premiere for No Time To Die was scheduled to take place on March 31 at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The 25th film in the franchise will mark Daniel Craig's fifth and final time as the spy. It also stars Lea Seydoux, Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch and Ana De Armas, and is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga.
No Time To Die finds Bond after he has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica when his old friend Felix Leiter, played by Jeffrey Wright, from the CIA turns up asking for help.
The Bond films make a significant portion of their profits from international markets.
The situation in the Far East has prompted estimates that box office takings could be hit by up to tens of millions of pounds globally. China was the highest grossing foreign country for the previous Bond film, Spectre.

Oh wow, I cannot believe they shut down those stages.
The expense they're losing while not in production must be extensive, guard patrols, maintainence personnel, rates, etc. I'm speculating the movies will have to pull in extra money to offset that substantial loss.

From The DisInsider: Abandoned Set Photos For Disney’s Live-Action ‘The Little Mermaid’ DISNEY LIVE-ACTION By Skyler Shuler Last updated Mar 28, 2020
Disney’s live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid was set to begin production two weeks ago, until all that was halted due to the coronavirus epidemic. Now, a couple of images from the set have surfaced, showing us the kind of scale the production will be like when it resumes this Summer.
The images below, which come from Splash News, gives a peek of a full-scale model of Prince Eric’s ship, it looks very reminiscent of the Pirates of the Caribbean ships that Disney had made for filming.
The set photos come from Pinewood Studios in London England, where production was not only kicking off for The Little Mermaid but Jurassic World: Dominion starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill had also kicked off production. All cast and crew for the studio production and Pinewood employees have since been sent home until given the green-light by the British government.
Directed by Rob Marshall (Mary Poppins Returns), The Little Mermaid is set to feature an all-star cast that includes Halle Bailey as Princess Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Melissa McCarthy as the sea witch Ursula, Javier Bardem as Ariel’s over-protective father King Triton, Awkwafina as the diving bird Scuttle, Jacob Tremblay as Ariel’s best friend Flounder, Daveed Diggs as King Triton’s loyal concierge Sebastian, and Jamiyka Jones, who recently joined the cast as the voice of seahorse.
Composer Alan Menken (Enchanted) recently announced during The Rosie O’Donnell Show livestream last week, that he and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) had finished recording all the music for the film, including four brand new songs, one we hear is a solo for Prince Eric. As we previously reported, the film will also briefly feature Ariel’s mother and sisters, as well as Carlotta, Grimsby, and Prince Eric’s best friend, Max.
Disney has not officially announced a release date for the film, but we expect the project to take up one of the release dates in 2022.

From Inside The Magic: Aerial Images Capture Eerily Abandoned Live Action “The Little Mermaid” Set! IN DISNEY, MOVIES
Posted on March 29, 2020 by Rebekah Barton
Credit: Disney/Splash News
Disney’s live action remake of The Little Mermaid was set to start shooting in London earlier this month, which means sets had already been constructed for the first days of filming. With the production of the upcoming movie put on hold amid current global health concerns, these sets have now been completely abandoned for the time being.
Captured by Splash News, aerial images show Prince Eric’s ship on an eerily empty Pinewood Studios lot. In addition to hosting The Little Mermaid cast and crew, Pinewood Studios is also where Jurassic World: Dominion, the next installment in Universal Studios’ Jurassic Park series, was set to begin filming. The abandoned set photos have an almost otherworldly look.
Credit: Splash News
Like Disney, who also temporarily postponed filming of Peter Pan & Wendy, Shrunk (the fourth installment in the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids franchise), and other upcoming films, Universal has shuttered all current productions.
Walt Disney Studios has not given a timeframe for when the live action The Little Mermaid will resume filming at London’s Pinewood Studios. The potential blockbuster is set to star Halle Bailey as Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder, and comedian Melissa McCarthy as Ursula.
Credit: Splash News
There is, however, some good news for fans of Ariel and co. On March 22, composer Alan Menken confirmed that the score of the Little Mermaid remake has been completed. It will feature popular songs like “Under the Sea” and “Part of Your World” in addition to several new musical numbers.
In more potentially positive news, Disney Parks are now allowing online resort reservations after June 1. Although this is still two months in the future, it does mark a possible end to the current closures at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and other Disney theme parks worldwide.
As previously stated, Disney Studios has not yet confirmed any news regarding when The Little Mermaid and other suspended productions will resume. It seems likely, however, that filming will start again near the time that health officials deem it safe for theme parks to reopen.
What do you think about the abandoned Little Mermaid ship set? Share your reaction in the comments!
