Something I always assumed but never knew for sure was that Ariel is a Queen in TLM2 (with Eric as King), but it's never explicitly mentioned. In fact, Eric is referred to as "Prince Eric" by Morgana at the beginning of the climax of the film. They never show a coronation or anything and since it's never mentioned, are they still Prince & Princess or have they been coronated off-screen to King and Queen, do we think?

Depends on if his mother or father are still alive.
As I understand the rules, a monarch is chosen for life, unless they willing abdicate or are impeached. So if whichever parent is the reigning monarch is still living and hasn't done either of those those things, then Eric will still be Prince and Ariel will be Princess by marriage.

It's possible that Eric and Ariel's country is a principality and not a kingdom.

I like veu’s explanation! I always headcanoned that at some point he did get coronated, and Disney was lazy 😂. I think his parents are dead though. I’d like to think they were coronated off screen. In the musical I believe it was a prerequisite for him to marry before he could become King, so I always thought that at some point after he married Ariel, he was crowned.

Until recently I thought Eric's kingdom was just random Fairy Tale place etc BUT EVERYONE WITH THOSE "GOSH DARN" THEORIES . I speculated it was Faroe Islands or the West Indes due to it's location near Sargosa sea BUT there are other reasons why I do NOT promote this
It was revealed by Disney that Eric's Kingdom is the Mediterranean the castle at the bottom of Italy
Though also evidence in the film still suggests Denmark

I subscribed to the Mediterranean theory for the longest so this makes me feel so validated 😂 That architecture! And the palm trees!
Edit: I’m watching TLM 2 on Disney+ right now and Carlotta called Ariel “Your Majesty”, which although they’re not in England, in the English tradition you address the Queen or King as that while a Princess would be Your Royal Highness.
Edit: Aaaand two seconds later Louis called her “Your Highness” so I have no idea y’all 😂

Eric's kingdoom is located in Italy. In the book "Part of Your World", Eric's kingdoom is named Tirulia, that is a very italian name. In this book, Eric wrote an opera named "La Sirenetta" (italian translation of "The Little Mermaid").
