Original Concept of the Final Battle

I rewatched the movie over the holiday and just remembered the alternate ending where the Ursula fight is on a much smaller scale:


I like the ending as is, but the thing I like about this fight is how visceral it is what with Ursula literally strangling Eric and trying to drown him. I think if they ever revive the musical they could maybe stage it like this?

The one thing I would have definitely kept is Ariel singing another reprise of POYW when she comes out of the water. Not gonna lie—I teared up!

Fun Fact in a 1989 coloring book Sebastain uses the Trident to stop Ursula Also if they had NOT cut Ariel's Apology of I did not mean to hurt you WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN "PEOPLES" criticisms???

Over the years Ariel has been called spoiled brat and other things which would get censored here

REST ASSURED when someone does this I RESPOND ACCORDINGLY


Also Ariel's biggest supporter was Howard Ashman and we all know what happened there
