One of the big changes that we are expecting when Disney Parks reopen in the United States (at a time that as yet to be determined) is a sharp decline in live entertainment. Not only does gathering around live entertainers present issues when it comes to social distancing measures, but being able to cut live entertainment could present a substantial cost savings for Disney, which has been bleeding money due to the COVID-19 Pandemic while parks, movie theaters, and Disney Stores are all closed.

And though we don't have confirmation yet, rumors are swirling about a cut that may have already been made at Disney's Hollywood Studios.


Voyage of the Little Mermaid may never come back to Disney's Hollywood Studios




According to forum posters on WDWMagic, it looks like Voyage of the Little Mermaid at Disney's Hollywood Studios will not be reopening with the park when it begins welcoming guests again, and there are no plans to ever schedule performances again. Many may remember that this show has been in trouble before, especially when plans for Star Wars Land plans were first coming together. However, it looks like this attraction's luck may have finally run out if rumors are true.

This isn't the first live entertainment to be cut..and won't be the last



Unfortunately, some other entertainment at Walt Disney World has also been cut and will not be returning to the parks when they reopen, including the following Epcot acts, who were all released form their contracts before the resort closed back in March:

Matsuriza Taiko Drummers
British Revolution band
Servers Amusant
Sergio the Italian Clown
And though the addition of Voyage of the Little Mermaid to this list would make a total of five cut attractions, it seems likely that there to be even more as we get closer to some kind of reopening at Walt Disney World.

And though we expect this area will stay vacant for a long time, could there be plans for this area long term?

I would CRY
Disney is known for making live Entertainment cuts, I wouldn't be surprised if Voyage is next on their chopping block. but I REALLY am hoping this is just a rumor!! I have always wanted to see Voyage and never got the opportunity, heck I've always wanted to audition for Voyage since it's my dream show at WDW! 🧜‍♀️ plus they only just updated her tail and hired some new actresses, it would be such a blow to see it all be for nothing!

Well if THEY DO NOT (poinent pause here) NOT cut the production you Ms. Lara  COULD get the part





Also would not be surprised if it IS gone due t being to "some" dated I wanted to go last December DID NOT HAPPEN


AND SINCE THE PARKS IS CLOSED NOT CERTAIN WHEN it will happen



Ariel's worse enemy is Disney company itself due to their    LOVE/HATE relationship with the film  


Just have to wait and see  I hope to post my vid from 1992 at some point but due to issues (The Fact that it is on VHS WELL IT WAS 1992) IS a factor



Also do searches online the Broadway show pops up from time to time the question is           WHERE    The show was on Long Island NY last Dec at theater I know (was cinema) BUT FOUND OUT to late AND with Corona disease...………………………………………………………...

To be honest, I think Disney is heading for a huge fall in the future.
I am actually genuinely wondering if they will survive as a corporation after they fall.

They've just made too many mistakes lately and while one, maybe two or three might have been survivable, all of them collectively could potentially be enough to bring the end of the corporation about.

At the very least, I'm predicting that even if the corporation does survive, it will be with a diminished market presence, they'll never again be the industry huggernaut they once were.

unlike most here I was alive when Disney was at Rock Bottom in 1979    NO ONE  COULD have predicted the company started by a mouse's future BUT by 1985 things seemed to com into place Splash had come out Despite the failure of the Black Cauldron animation rereleases were strong  (and this is when Disney did NOT OWN          Muppets Star Wars Simpsons 20th Century Fox Marvel comics     etc)



They will survive                     just NOT making Billion(s) A year



Also the root of there problems today     started in the ninties    they're paying the price now

I dont think Disney have a love/hate for Ariel.
I think Disney love Ariel. She is the best-selling Disney Princess and the top-selling Disney Princess. Ariel is the most present Princess in merchandise and in general in the Disney merchandise Ariel is the third Disney character most present, only Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse have more merchandise than Ariel. The others characters (also the popular Elsa and Anna) have less merchandise than Ariel.

I hope Disney reopen Voyage of The Little Mermaid.

The rumor is recirculating once again. This time it's a bit different because Disney is in a standstill with the Actor's Equity Association about what to do with their cast members during this time (this is the union the actors in their stage shows are a part of. the regular meet and greet characters are non-union, only stage performers are union performers at Disney). It's gotten to a point where Disney replaced union performers with non-union performers in their Beauty and the Beast stage show at Hollywood Studios...which is not good at all.

and as I was editing this I found this article saying AEA and WDW have reached some sort of agreement to let their performers return to work. I'm curious to see how this pans out and if Voyage will also be returning:
