Shocking Video Shows a Fan-Favorite Princess Looking Worse for Wear at Walt Disney World…
Posted by: Isabella Reimer January 23, 2023
Between Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT, Walt Disney World Resort isn’t lying when it calls itself “the Most Magical Place on Earth.”
That said, it’s shockingly easy for the magic to become ruined. Anything as simple and human as a baby crying, unexpected weather, or a technical malfunction can take nearby Guests out of the magic. Don’t get us wrong! These things happen every day, and we’re not condemning them.
But when it comes to technical difficulties, some mistakes are more…jarring than others.
One Guest recently rode Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid, Magic Kingdom’s beloved dark ride retelling the story of The Little Mermaid (1989), and they spotted the titular character looking very odd.
As we can see in the video, the Ariel animatronic’s mouth isn’t moving, creating a very silly and kind of creepy look for the beloved Disney princess. Luckily, first-time Guests may not notice something is off at first because they’ve never seen the animatronic’s mouth moving. However, frequent visitors will immediately notice, and the magic will be ruined.
Unfortunately, this is one of the most memorable moments from The Little Mermaid. The Disney princess’s animatronic looking so unsightly during one of the most magical portions of the attraction can create the wrong memories for families. For example, mom and dad may laugh at the animatronic Ariel’s malfunctions while the children may be upset. Depending on how young they are, they may even cry in terror!
Hopefully, Ariel’s animatronic is fixed, and Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid can return to normal soon!
