Hi, again! Ok, so if anyone has checked out my thread 'Am I THAT weird??' you'll know that I am 'from' the 'Phantom of the Opera' forum. And over there I write a lot of fan fics. I don't know if they are good, what I have heard is that they are, but, who's to really know? Anywoo... I have decided I am going to attempt writing a fan fic for this forum! Hopefully it won't go up in flames. lol I'll give the summary, since I have not really begun writing it yet, I've just thought of it. Summary- A girl named Christine always has fantasies and dreams of being a mermaid. Ever since she was young she has loved the sea. She lives with her father, Erik on a small house by the sea. Every day Christine walks down to the shore to collect sea shells and smell the crisp sea air. Sometimes, if time allows, she'll go for a long, relaxing swim. The water is warm, and she feels at home. One warm day, Christine does her daily routine of going to the shore to collect her sea shells. Except, this day is like no other. The sun was setting over the sea, creating a majestic look on the water. As she goes alone, ankle deep in water, a shimmer of green catches her eye... -Hope it sounds good, if anyone replies then I'll begin posting.

I hope it's ok... ~*Dreaming of the Sea*~ Christine was not like normal girls. She always felt like an outcast. All of her 'friends' told her she needed a 'normal' hobby. But she didn't care what they said, she knew deep down inside of her what she loved the most, the sea. Everyone looked down on her, they thought she was a dirty weird person. The only person she could talk to was her father, Erik. "Oh Christine..." He said shaking his head as she walked through the door with a bag full of sea shells. "What?" She asked setting the bag on the table. "You need some friends." He said rubbing her shoulder. He was nice, and understanding, but still, he knew that she needed some what of a social life. As she walked along the shore, pondering her day she saw a shimmer of green flash beneath the waves. Christine shook her head and walked on. Her father and everyone else was beginning to get to her. Normally, she would've jumped into the water, hoping she had seen a mermaid's fin. But now, she thought that everyone was right, maybe she was weird, and needed friends. Christine sat on the sandy shore and looked at a pink sea shell in her hand. She sighed and shook her head, then threw it into the waves, watching as it made a little splash. "Maybe he's right..." She whispered to herself as a tear stroked her sun burnt cheek. Just as she was about to get up and leave, she saw a shimmer in the water again. And this time, she decided to see what it was.

As she moved ankle deep into the foamy waves, she saw the green again. Her heart began to race as she felt the warm water inch up her leg, to her knee. Her eyes closed as she dived into the small overlapping waves. As she felt the water rush against her face, she slowly opened her eyes. It was clear and she began searching for the 'mermaid.' As she swam on under the water, she began to forget all of her problems and worries. It all seemed to vanish into complete nothingness.
Finally, she felt her lungs begin to beg for air. She surfaced and found herself in deep water, so far out her feet could no longer touch the squishy bottom. "Oh great..." She mumbled to herself as she began swimming toward shore. But, as soon as she began to be able to feel the bottom again, she was pulled under the waves.
Christine's mind began to race as she held her breath. She was being pulled through the water by... something. It seemed like forever and she began to feel light headed as her body yearned for a breath. But whatever had a hold of her ankle, was not going to let her go.

Thank you for replying! Thought I was all alone here! *tear, tear* _______________________________________
Christine began to become desperate as she felt like she could not hold her breath any longer. She opened her eyes and much to her surprise, saw that she was being pulled along by, a mermaid. Her heart skipped a beat as she saw her long flowing seaweed green hair, and she had a long dark blue tail. Christine, for a minute, had forgot that she was in need of air, but her body made sure she was reminded. She saw a flash of black over her eyes, and she knew that she was in trouble now.
Her hand reached out and her nails dug into the mermaid's tail. The grasp on Christine's ankle was quickly released as the mermaid's tail whipped away in pain. Christine swam to the surface, but it seemed as if it took ages to get there. She had barely any energy left, due to lack of air, and she hadn't noticed until now that she was so deep down.
Sweet air greeted Christine as she finally surfaced. "Oh God..." She whispered breathing in air hungrily. Just as she was about to begin searching for the mermaid, she felt herself pulled under again.
Christine was now getting aggravated, her lungs couldn't take much more of this torture. The mermaid swam on, ignoring Christine's thrashing. This was it, Christine thought as she felt herself begin to black out. She needed air, she needed it badly, but the mermaid's grasp was strong and unforgiving. Please let me go, Christine thought as complete blackness enveloped her. She then felt herself float away as she lost consciousness.

Christine felt like she was floating in a pool of darkness. She felt as if she would never feel the warmth of the sea, or get to see the sun set. Was this a dream, or reality?
Christine felt as if she was fighting to stay alive, fighting to breathe and live again. She felt a cold liquid pour onto her hot face. Her eyes flashed opened and she jumped up from the ground. She was lying on the beach, she felt sand stick to her back. "W-what..." She stammered rubbing her sore eyes. Where am I? She kept asking herself. All of a sudden she felt a bubble in her throat and she coughed up a gallon of water. "Gross..." She said staring at the damp sand.
As she stood and began looking around, she found that she had no idea where she was. And that worried her the most. As she walked on she saw something in the water. "Who is it?!" She exclaimed. She knew she had seen a mermaid, it almost killed her! "Show yourself!" She yelled getting ready to chuck a rock at whatever appeared.
Her eyes widened as a mermaid's head came up threw the dark water.

Aw thanks so much! And I'm sure yours isn't bad! What's it called? I'll read it! __________________________________________ Christine's jaw dropped as she saw the mermaid who had almost drowned her. She couldn't find words to describe her excitement, and she was also at a loss of words of what to say to her. Should she say anything? She had never met a mermaid before, and did not want to offend her, or scare her away. The one thing she did know what mermaids was that they were spooked easily. And once you scared them away, there was a very thin chance you would see them again. The reason why she knew so much about them was because of her uncle Tim. He was one of the most successful fishermen in the world. Christine's father, Erik, did not like how she hung around with Tim all the time. Erik would always tell her that Tim was putting ideas into her head; a lot of make-believe. Christine had loved her uncle Tim since she was very young. She was now 16, and still loved being around him. Her favorite thing was when he would tell her stories about his trips over seas. He told her about the different type of mer-folk, and the ones he saw during his trips. She listened in aw as he explained the different types, and how the mermaids tried to sing them to their death. Never in her life had Christine thought as a mermaid, evil. But Tim told her that some were determined to get to you, and kill you. Just to steal various items from your soon to be sunken ship. This knowledge would hopefully help her with this mermaid. "Hi." Christine said softly waving lightly at the mermaid. The mermaid gave her an uneasy look and began to sink back under the water. "No! Wait!" Christine exclaimed running to the water's edge. "Wait!" She yelled again, wading into the warm night water. She sighed, and decided she had scared the mermaid away. But she was wrong. Just as she was about to make her way back to shore, her ankle was grabbed once again by this mermaid. Christine decided to let the mermaid do whatever she was so determined to do. So she let herself relax as the mermaid pulled her deeper under the waves.

As Christine felt the warm water brush against her cheeks, she also began to feel the need to breathe. She began tugging her ankle away from the mermaid's grasp. The mermaid released her foot, which surprised Christine. She surfaced, took a deep breath, then dove deep down to find the mermaid.
When she reached the bottom she saw the mermaid. She wanted to talk to her, but could not, being under water and all. How she wished she had gills like the mermaid. The mermaid's eyes were a sparkling aqua blue that shone like stars under the waves. She was the most beautiful thing Christine had ever seen in all her life. As Christine swam toward her, the mermaid stayed where she was. So, Christine swam up to her, so she was inches away. Then, Christine pointed to her throat, then to the surface, indicating she needed a breath, and that she wanted the mermaid to come up with her.
As she surfaced, the mermaid did as well. "Wow, I finally get to talk to a mermaid." Christine blurted out. She covered her mouth. "Sorry, I don't mean that in an offensive way." She said softly. The mermaid stared into her eyes and shook her head. "Humans. They're all the same." She hissed. Her voice was soft and quiet. She must have a beautiful singing voice, Christine thought. The mermaid was about to dive beneath the waves, but Christine was not finished just yet. "Wait! I've been waiting to meet a mermaid since I was born, basically, and now, I meet you, so, first off, what's your name?" Christine asked with a smile. The mermaid raised an eyebrow at her then sighed. "Sierra. And I'm flattered." She said with a hint of an obnoxious tone. Christine nodded. "Very pretty. And one big question. Why were you trying to drown me?" Christine asked right out. Sierra laughed and ran her fingers through her long hair. "Just a bit of fun. I would never kill you." She laughed.

No one is reading! Even if you want to bash it, I'd rather that then no one reading! :( _____________________________________________
Funny thing was, Christine did not find this amusing. "Well, there are more, friendly ways to get someones attention." She said a bit coldly. Sierra chuckled and dived in the water. Christine shook her head and swam to shore.
She had thought meeting a mermaid would be more, exciting. And that she would be able to have an actual conversation. This mermaid... that was not going to happen.
Christine sat on the sandy shore and fiddled with a strand of her long black hair. It was dark, the stars were so bright, it seemed as if you could count them. Full moon as well. It cast a majestic shine over the water. Making it shine and sparkle. Christine sighed and laid down, staring at the sky. Her father must have a search party out for her right now. He must be worried sick. Christine got an uneasy feeling in her stomach as she thought of her father.
He had lost his wife, Christine's mother, in a fire. Christine was only a baby when it happened, so she never really knew her mother. But, her father loved her with all his heart. He told Christine that he had done everything in his power to save her, but, the flames were too hot, and the smoke was too thick.
Christine shuddered at the thought of being trapped in a burning house. Her father must feel terrible, he had told her that if he ever lost her, he didn't know what he would do with himself. Christine decided to try and make her way home, on land this time.
She began walking, with no idea in her mind of where she was headed. This didn't seem to worry her. As she walked on, she saw sea shells scattered all over the shore. Why let them go to waste? She thought as she picked them up in her hands. One that was buried under some wet sand was shining. It was a crystal blue, and Christine knew she must have it! But, little did she know that it was extremely sharp. When she went to pick it up, she felt its sharp edge dig into her palm.

Christine let out a yelp of pain as drops of blood came from the cut. This was one thing Christine did not do good with, blood. Just the sound of the word sent shivers up and down her spine. When she actually saw it, she usually passed out. And this, time she tried not to look at it, but the pain was overwhelming. It felt like she lost control of her neck as it turned to look at the wound. When she saw it she felt a sick feeling in her body, and she fell to the ground.
Her eyes opened and the world looked as if it were spinning. "Oh God..." She said quietly as she remembered the sight she had seen. Her hand was throbbing as she let it lay lifeless on the sand. Everything was blurry, and she was afraid she would never get home again at this rate.
Just as she was about to lose conciseness again, she felt the warm water at her feet. Then, a face appeared over her. It was a face of a boy, well, an older boy, about her age it looked. But who's to know, Christine by now was in la la land. "Hi." She said with a drunken smile. The boy smiled and caressed her cheek gently then kissed her lips lightly. Christine smiled as he broke apart. She felt water all over now, she was being carried into the water. Just before she blacked out completely, she felt warm water envelope her face, as she was brought beneath the waves.

Christine did not awaken for hours. She slept soundly, very peacefully. Never before had she slept like this before, she felt calm.
She could barely open her heavy eyes. But once she said, everything was blurry, then clear. She was under water. She looked around and couldn't help smile, it was so beautiful and relaxing. Well, it was until she remembered breathing. But, if she had been asleep down here for hours, she must have been breathing, so she tried to take a breath, but when she did she found herself choking on water. What was I thinking?! She exclaimed in her mind as she grabbed her throat.

I'm going to die! This thought raced through Christine's mind every time she tried to find an exit. Her lungs felt like they were going to crumble at any minute. This is it, I'm going to die! Christine said as everything began to become dark. For a moment she was completely relaxed and she floated down to the bottom, resting on the soft sand. At least it ends here. She thought.
But then, she saw a merman appear before her. He had a worried expression on his face as he swam quickly to her side. Christine smiled faintly at him, he then took her into his arms. She smiled again and caressed his face. This is the way to go. Christine thought as she felt her chest begin to get real tight.
The merman kissed her lips and Christine felt her lungs fill with air. It was the best feeling, both kissing under water and feeling air in her body once again. His lips did not part, and Christine did not want them to. She let her hand rest gently on his neck and he held her tightly against his bare chest.

"Do not fear, you're safe with me." He said as he broke the kiss. Christine held her breath and stared into his loving dark eyes. How she longed to speak to him! Words could not describe how handsome he was. He had dark brown hair that was cut short.
Christine once again forgot about breathing as she stared into his eyes. He had a strong, firm chest. he held her tightly against it, as to never let her go. And Christine liked that, she felt attached to him, even though she didn't know him.
"Kiss me." He said softly. his voice was deep, and relaxing. Christine obeyed and kissed his lips again, air once again filled her lungs. She felt him let her go and she panicked, water filled her lungs as she took a deep breath. As her eyes began to close, she felt him take her in his arms again, then she felt morning sunlight fall on her face.
When she awoke she was lying on the sandy shore. But she was not alone, she felt his presence, he was hovering over her. Christine slowly opened her eyes and stared into his. "Hi..." She whispered.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! __________________________________________ A smile crossed his face and he gently caressed her cheek. "Are you alright?" He asked softly. Hearing his voice calmed Christine. "Yes..." She said with a nod, then he helped her sit up. It felt like a rush as morning sunlight greeted her heavy eyes. She shielded her eyes and stretched. Her skin felt dry and sand stuck all over her. The merman just sat there smiling at her. Christine smiled back. "What happened yesterday?" Christine finally asked. "I saw you lying on the shore, your hand was bleeding badly so I fixed it..." He said lifting her hand out of her lap. The mark was gone. It had vanished. Christine's jaw dropped as she stared at her palm. "Thank you..." She whispered staring into his eyes. She could see him blush. "No problem. So, I took you in the water, so I could fix it. Then when I went off to get some things, you woke up, and we..." He cleared his throat and gazed out over the sea. "Kissed..." She said turning his face to face her. He swallowed hard then nodded. "You saved my life.." She whispered moving closer to him. "I had to..." He whispered. "Why..?" Christine whispered back, their lips were inches away. "Because... I think..." He said slowly, before he could finish, Christine finished for him. "I love you..." She whispered as their lips touched. Christine felt shivers up and down her spine as his hand rested on her neck. When they parted, Christine breathed deeply and stared at him. He had something about him that human men and boys didn't have. Well, a fin, but, his features were so distinguished and outlined. He was gorgeous! Christine stood and walked to the water so that it went up to her ankles. She sat down and stared off into the distance. "It's beautiful.." She whispered as the merman sat beside her. He nodded. "I forgot to ask you.. What's your name?" Christine asked. "Eric." He said with a smile. "I'm Christine." She said, her cheeks flushed. Guys never talked to her. She was lucky if they looked at her. Talking to one, kissing one! Was amazing. Even if he was a merman, Christine liked that better. "What's it like? Living as a merman?" Christine asked. Eric stared off. "Amazing. You feel, free, I guess. What's it like being human?" He asked, now making eye contact with her. "Human?" She laughed out loud then sighed. "It's... horrid, well, at least for me it is. People, don't really like me, the guys think I'm a nut case, the girls think I'm weird too." She sighed then looked at Eric. His eyes were wide opened. "I think you're beautiful." He said. Christine laughed and shook her head. "Me?" She smiled sighed. "Well, to return the compliment, I think you're the most attractive man I have ever seen." Eric blushed and shook his head. "I seriously think you're beautiful. And, thank you." He said in a sweet voice. Christine took his hand and tugged on it then let it drop. "Let's go." She said standing. "Where?" He asked. "Your place." She laughed diving under the waves.
