Do have one question - do the Disney Gals race as Mickie D indicates or is that just a tie in?
I never saw the Disney Gals racing, so it's just a promotional merchandise thing and not part of the movie.
I just saw the movie today.
Spoilers (not race car spoilers!) abound, so if you haven't seen the movie, don't read any further.
The movie wasn't as internet hoping as I'd expected, Ralph spends most of his time in one website making viral videos.
Vanellope's story was interesting, she got bored of Sugar Rush and moved to Slaughter Race.
At the end of the movie, Shank mentions Vanellope was officially added to the game as part of the code, which makes me wonder, how did this happen?
And wouldn't anyone be questioning the presence of a chibi girl in a realistic computer game?
There were some differences from the trailer, in the movie, the search bar isn't involved in sending Vanellope to OhMyDisney, it's Ralph redirecting her transport module away from the gaming node because he doesn't want her near Slaughter Race again.
And Merida says something different in the movie that I didn't quite catch, but I heard enough to know it wasn't what she said in the trailer.
I think the movie directors were intentionally poking fun at that concept, since the part with Baby Mo and the expanding rabbit doesn't happen until shortly during the end credits.
Baby Mo complains that "there was a scene in the trailer that wasn't in the movie" and then the rabbit/cat scene plays on her tablet.
The Princess scene was interesting, especially since they made sure to put the A113 number on the wall, despite that line about not understanding Merida because she's from Pixar (who use the A113 number as a historical injoke reference).
Vanellope's outfit was responsible for the Princesses getting their modern makeover, because they liked the comfiness so much, they made their own outfits.
Ariel sings a little reworded version of her song. And Vanellope is puzzled about the spotlight and music that comes from nowhere when she does this.
It was interesting to see Moana create a giant water spout, Ariel swim up inside it and Elsa freeze part of it to make an ice slide.
Probably the closest we'll ever get to seeing them combine their powers.
And I am wondering if that scene was poking fun at all the feminist criticisms lately, because of this line from the Princesses: "Look, it's a big strong man who needs rescuing".
I am curious about a line during the Princess scene, they state in order to get their defining moment, you have to look into reflective water "that is special to you" and your moment of clarity/epiphany will come.
Ariel was surrounded by water, so not sure how that applied to her.
But for the other Princesses, I wonder if we could gather a list of those moments, just to find out what they meant. I assume it was a scene in their movies.
For Vanellope though, it ended up being a spilled pool of soda drink.
I wasn't expecting a duet between Shank and Vanellope.
Even Ralph gets in a bit of a song at the end of the movie, as a second Easter egg.
And now I am wondering if John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman and Gal Gadot can sing.
I was amused by that reference to the RickRoll trick, that you think we're getting a preview of Frozen 2 and then it's just Ralph singing the RickRoll song.
Did they get some information from professional racers?
There was a line in the credits about the Willow Park racing track organisation being consulted.
