I've been seeing these really cool mini-banners that say "I am...__ TMF" and I was wondering if they're a special thing, because I'd love one to post here and other forums ^^
It's okay if it's a private thing, I understand

That's such a good point...lol. Ron Clements and John Musker were two married, heterosexual men who wanted to bring a good story. The music is by two men, Menken and Ashmen. Ariel's leader animator: Male. I'd say Jodi is about as feminine as that crew got xD

Well if they're studing cardiology they could listen to each others heart, right? But if Ariel's heart was special, which of course it is, I think she'd be okay with it.

Oh I've been called every name in the book for liking TLM. But I suppose my love for it surpassed my want to keep it a secret, because I love it until the day I die. But yes, it is incredibly, hard, because if you say you love Ariel the grown-ups would think I was just going through a phase and bought me hot wheels. And my dad threw away my Ariel dolls. It's hard to be accepted, but thanks to places like this, guy fans of TLM don't have to be alone.

How did it all begin? (and when) I think my parents showed me the movie like they show all their kids movies for them to enjoy, but while Toy Story stayed on shelf, Little Mermaid stayed in the VHS player for weeks.
My dad didn't like it, my whole life anything about Ariel my dad just scoffs and rolls his eyes. But back then he would take my dolls, buy me "boy" toys, and I would always cry "Why are you taking her away?". He only did this because I'm a guy.
Then as I got older and my dad realized I wasn't growing out if it, he just gave up but still never accepted it. But I will always love Ariel and all the undersea gang.
Best memories One memory is seeing the commercial for TLM2 for the first time. I was so excited, I couldn't wait to see the movie. When my mom brought home the VHS, I watched non-stop. I remember watching the first two movies in a row for a week almost everyday when I got home from school.
Now, I watch TLM when I have horrible days. I watched it whenever I cried, like when my first boyfriend dumped me.
Influence Somebody once told me I love TLM because of my sexuality. While I think that's a part of it, I don't think it's the entire reason. I can hardly explain it, TLM just makes me hopeful.
I continue to have no shame in loving TLM, and it's thank to her that I love everything I do now. I can explain the entire timeline later, but to sum it up, Ariel introduced me to many things that I love now.
Love you fellow TLM fans!~

That poem was great!! ^^ Thanks for sharing it. Maybe we could start a collective poem-version of TLM? Gather all the TLM fan poets together and make a collaboration!

I love the original fairy-tale, because I loved seeing Ariel's origins. Of course Disney's version is closer to me, the original told the story well I think, even though after reading it for the first time rather....frightened me. If you've read the original you probably know why. I was close to Ariel...I wanted to see her succeed.
Still, Ariel's message to reach out for what you dream even when it seems impossible is still very pronounced in the original, especially for TLM fans, because I want the young Mermaid's dream to be avenged. Or maybge Andersen wanted to tell another tale...but that's how I take it.

And yes! A full scan of them all would be amazing. I know this site already has a few.

That has the making for an adorable fanfiction. Ariel probably love the idea of a heartbeat. Well I'm guessing she knows what it is, considering the scene from the first movie after rescuing Eric. Scuttle: "I can't heart a heartbeat...." The heart is symbolic, I would love to see Urchin listen to Ariel's heart <3

Has TLM in 3D been officially announced!? Even so, people don't like these re-releases, but I think everybody deserves to see classic Disney on the big screen.

How....different. I agree with alan, the instrumentals were nice. Good accompiniment to a male singer singing that song....but maybe not a pirate.

So when I was a kid I had this treasure-box of TLM picture books. I remember their were characters never seen in the show or movie, like a pink fish who like Flounder.
Anybody know what this were? I'd love to have them again.
