I think this has to be the best Disney sequel or prequel I've ever seen. I'm curious to know what other Disney sequels you have seen, because personally I think TLM3 is definitely on the low end in my opinion. Out all the Disney sequels I have seen I'd have to say I like Peter Pan 2 is the best. If you haven't seen this one, try it out! It's fine if you still think TLM3 is the best I'm just curious. There were so many things about the prequel that just irked me. I feel like the Ariel's Beginning didn't even seem like a film. It seemed like a drawn out version of an episode of the series. I liked the series, but they were short and sweet and to the point. The prequel was concept that was poorly directed. I really can't pinpoint what is wrong with it, because I think it is a combination of many things. Toons27 said it pretty well though there wasn't any connection to the original film, so I didn't find it relatable whatsoever. Like Daniel, after the prequel the sequel and Melody seemed less and less annoying. This is the problem with people who are major fans of things we are such tough critics! I know something has to be spectacular for me to truly love it on the same level as the original film. I love Voyage of the TLM.. I love the TLM scene in Philharmagic and many things Disney World has done with Ariel. As far as films, current merchandise, new ventures with TLM as far as Broadway or Disney Princess stories about Ariel I just cannot connect with.

I got Ariel too. I like these quizzes so much better they actually make sense. Those ones where they ask you what color is your hair...where would you like to live, it is so obvious what you're going to get and has nothing to do with the princesses personalities!

If they made a 3D version of TLM that would be cool, but anything like...new...new storylines...etc....I'm so over it. lol

Exactly. I was quite impressed with the technical aspects of it, but for them to steals those concepts was really pointless. It has no meaning whatsoever you are right. You can't try and substitute Disney magic, it's impossible!

It's really good timing because it's April and I still haven't gotten a calendar yet, and I'm always looking for the date and such so now I have an amazing Ariel calendar to go with my Ariel decor

I saw this posted on another Disney message board, and after watching I was sooo confused...here you guys go..This is @ Universal Studios Japan
When you first start watching this you see Elmo,Snoopy, Hello Kitty, and pure randomness. Then it turns into their own versions of "Alice in Wonderland". "Arabian Nights". and "Cinderella". Um, I know these are classic stories, but Disney is is the one who has done these stores, marketed them, and have them as the foundation for their entire company?
It is so random too..Snoopy..Elmo..then this whole Disney theme? What the heck? I have to give them credit though the show is pretty awesome goes as far as the lights and technical stuff but it is such a slap in the face. Doesn't Universal have their own characters?

They ran to each other like they were on Baywatch! It almost made me laugh. Haha I never noticed that. I must watch it again. It's funny that mention that, because this is kind of what I was trying to say in regards to Ariel singing in the end. You know like Baywatch girls are all like "I'm so beautiful and wonderful" and Ariel just singing that song and running to Eric seemed very "I am so wonderful my life is great ahhh I with you now forever lalalal" I hope you all get what I mean. lol. Not the personality of Ariel at all.

As much as I love her voice, I actually think it works better sung by the chorus at the end. It gives the movie a really stirring finish. I agree with you here, her singing it kind of seems a bit silly. It's pretty much understood that she is being changed into a human forever. The whole bit with her singing "Now we can walk..." etc, is a bit overboard and makes it very cheesy.

I'm going to have to go with the sequel, and here is why... The sequel is totally wrong. I do not like the animation or that Ariel has this annoying daughter. However, I do like the music and some of the moments. Still I think it is completely wrong, so you are probably wondering why I chose it. It isn't believable and it isn't really touching Ariel's story in the original, so it doesn't do any harm. It's just one way of viewing how Ariel's life may have been afterwards.
The prequel on the other hand, though the animation was better ,it ruined Ariel's story for me. I don't mind the idea of Ariel's mother dying etc etc, but how they created this film it was done so poorly. The storyline was bland and boring. My main problem is it gave us the reasons for Ariel's story in TLM. Before I saw the film I liked the idea of it and the concept, except it was poorly executed and made me wish I hadn't ever watched it.
The whole prequel was kind of the last straw for me. It was Disney last chance to prove they could do something magical and memorable like they did for Ariel and TLM in 1989. I truly hope they never do a single new thing for Ariel, and leave her with the dignity she has left.

I maybe the only one to say this but I prefer this ending! I think it has so much more emotion in it which I love. I'm kind of torn on this because I really like how in this script Ariel doesn't get her voice back until after Ursula is defeated. I like this because Eric didn't have to hear her voice to realize he loved Ariel, once he figured out Vanessa was some sea witch he knew he loved her, and at the end of this her voice was just icing on the cake. However, I do like the moment in the original movie where she gets her voice back it's very magical.
I do not like the whole Glut thing, I think that is just a little overdone. Everything else I really love with Eric seeing the witch's reflection in the water and the moment with Ariel and Triton. I think it all provides for more closure, as a kid though I probably wouldn't of cared, but as an adult I would of liked to have seen that.

First of all Daniel, I am SO SORRY. I had not seen this at all until right now! It must of gotten lost under posts for me. This is beautiful. I can tell your skills have improved dramatically! I am so proud of you . The amount of depth to this picture really brings it to life. It's very magical and heart warming. Brings back lots of memories. We need to go to Disney together again. :(

It's just the size of the item and what it is made out of it. Taking from what Daniel said, you are paying for a uglier version of an orginal that has just been reproduced over and over again through a machine. I know the same goes for any other item you may purchase at Disney but I find some of their other items more reasonable that have more substance to them. You're right though, Sirenita, to each their own. I actually really like some of these pins, but I'm not going to buy them because of the price. I'm finding them for far more reasonable of prices on Ebay. The monetary value for them to produce that product is probably $1-$3, so in turn they are making so much profit off of spenders. More power to the mouse, he's been doing it for decades .

They're at Disneyland, and they aren't that expensive. they're under $20 each except fr the framed art set, that's $165. They're not that expensive? Are you kidding? Thats ridiculously expensive. This is what makes no sense to me Disney pins are so pricey, yet they have Snowglobes for around $30-$40....frames for around $20...and Lennox figures for $100, but a set of pins for $165? That's insane.

Ok, I don't know if I'm the only one here but the character of Chef Louis and the actor who did his voice really wasn't that important to me especially with Jodi being in the spotlight.
Anyways, I'm sure I maybe the only Star Trek nerd here, but I must say that I have been watching Rene as a main character on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and he is an incredibly versatile actor. I did some research on him and he has done SEVERAL different things as far as acting goes. He's done animated voices and characters in prime time shows. I am actually quite blown away that I didn't discover him sooner because he is such a talented actor.
Here is him as Odo on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
